BED RUG sells 6'x10' pieces of the same material they make the BED RUG out of. I cut mine to fit on top of the Decked. Keeps materials from sliding around. Looks awesome.
I’ve watched all the videos here on TH-cam about the Decked installation. Your video is by far the best out there. Thank you for making my installation so much easier.
Good video. Mine was delivered 2 days ago for my 2017 F150. The delivery company, SAIA wasn't good about updating tracking info or emailing me. I was out goose hunting 1 hr.away when delivery guy was 15 min away. Fortunately he could just drop off where I asked him to. It all looks good. Going to install tomor.
it's odd to me that the bolts for the ammo can are an inch too long. For a well thought out product like this I would expect them to be the correct length so you don't risk nicking your hand on them when you reach in the box.
In the instructions, Decked recommends using their brackets instead of the factory tie-downs. I'd prefer to use the factory ones and noticed you did as well - have they worked fine? Thanks for this video. My Decked will be here next week so it's good to get a preview of the install!
Do you know it it can be installed over a plastic slide in bed liner? I'm guessing there's plenty of side clearance. The install here seems at odds with a video I've seen on removing the system, Not terribly but It seems the "how to remove" video left a few things out. For example the tail plate. and the assemble and bolting method of the "vert." I think you have the bolts backwards on the C channel and the ammo can. the way you did it will have those bolt ends catching on things and tearing skin when shoving your hands in the ammo cans. If there's no room for the extra length in the C channel then probably just shorten the screws and reverse them anyway.
You can reach the two factory points in the rear by the tailgate, I use them for ratchet straps all the time, I'm not sure about other makes, but my F-150 has the four tie downs on the side walls that sit nicely above the decked box, giving me six possible tie down points in total. The decked system synergizes really well with Fords in my experience.
Hey Hector, it depends on the type of liner. If you have a Spray On liner, that will still work fine. For Drop In or BedRug liners, it would have to be removed. Hope that helps!
There are normally additional instructions that are separate just for the L-Braces when you receive the kit. These were not shown in the video because they are optional braces, but recommended. If you're having problems give us or Decked a call for help with installation!
Steve Koz: Per the manufacturer DECKED - The 2014 F150 and prior Ford models in addition to the current Super Duty models with the factory step have a bump on the driver’s side of the open tailgate, which will interfere with the opening of the DECKED drawer on that side. The 2015 F150 models have the improved step and do not have a bump on the tailgate. The tailgate step will not impact the installation or use of your DECKED system. However, DECKED will interfere with the handle because that part causes the tailgate to have a big bump in it that the DECKED drawers will hit. There are three possibilities for a successful installation: 1) If you already have a spray-in liner, your DECKED may reside high enough so that the drawer clears the handle. 2) You can purchase cable extenders to offset the ramp angle of your tailgate. We have not tested this product, but here are some more details so you can see if this will work for your needs. Hope this helps! Rider Tailgate Accessories has developed an innovative new truck accessory called the Tailgate Lowering Links which, when added to the existing tailgate support cables on a truck, allow the tailgate to lay flat. For example, the tailgate on a 2013 Ford Super Duty is about 1.5 inches higher than the bed. With the Rider Tailgate accessory, model FD1, the Links allow the tailgate to lay flat or about 1.5 inches lower than the level of the bed. Rider Tailgate Links are constructed to allow the tailgate to be lowered without the tailgate contacting the bumper. The amount of tailgate drop varies from 3 to 5.25 inches depending on the truck. This patented product is the only product on the market that lets consumers lower, and use, their tailgate in a position that is lower than the conventional open position. Rider Tailgate Lowering Links are engineered for strength and performance. To learn more about this innovative patented product or to see what other truck models they fit, call at 801-678-1405 or visit their website at RIDERTAILGATE.COM. 3)You can easily remove the handle and purchase the following Ford part(s) to cover up the opening where the handle resides: F150 - AL3Z 99000A38 EB. Retail - $64.29 F250 - AC3Z 99000A38 AA. Retail - $64.29 F150 Platinum: If you have the Platinum version (prior to 2015 - non aluminum) of the F150 and the tailgate step, using the tailgate extenders can result in the Platinum plate hitting the bumper and marring the plate. Removing the handle may be a better option for this application.
For the amount of money these plastic drawers cost, I'm actually surprised that you have to assemble portions of the drawers. I would have assumed for that cost, the only assembly that I'd actually need to to would be to get it setup in the bed of the truck.
Agree, especially since the whole thing comes in a big box on a pallet. They could have easily made the two halves and shipped them that way. The product is very strong and solid though.
It’s due to their very efficient and effective shipping system. The way things fit together in the box to avoid damage necessitated the drawer handle assembly. Regardless, that part was super easy and only took a couple minutes.

Great observation. I thought the same thing.
Best How To Video that I've seen !
I don't have a truck, but this is nifty.
Easy to install, works great
Great Bike Rack!!

Any update?
shouldn't you have ran the ammo can bolts the other direction? so they don't hang out in the way catching flesh?
I did.
@@eseEVIL408 I was thinking the same thing
Easy peasy - thank you good video
Great video

Looking for one of these for a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Short Box in Kamloops BC
Do you still have access to Factory tie down points integrated into the bed?
You can reach the two factory points in the rear by the tailgate, I use them for ratchet straps all the time, I'm not sure about other makes, but my F-150 has the four tie downs on the side walls that sit nicely above the decked box, giving me six possible tie down points in total. I have a Nissan Frontier and it does not have the tiedowns as shown in this video. How would the Decked system attach to the bed in my truck?
It's a nice drawer system but a drill/driver would be preferred than a ratchet for easy speedy install of all those nuts.
In order to install this box in my 2021 Ford Ranger, do I have to remove the liner that protects the cargo area and the sides or not?
Hey Hector, it depends on the type of liner. If you have a Spray On liner, that will still work fine. For Drop In or BedRug liners, it would have to be removed. Hope that helps!
Finally!! I've been reading and reafing comments. That info should be in the inspections at the beginning.
do you not like ratchets?
You missed the section for installing the L braces on the drawers. The instruction aren't very clear on how it's done.
There are normally additional instructions that are separate just for the L-Braces when you receive the kit. These were not shown in the video because they are optional braces, but recommended. If you're having problems give us or Decked a call for help with installation!
@@Realtruck so those brackets and the additional drilling is optional?
Can I install this over my bedliner?
If you have a drop-in liner there might be some modifications you'd have to make such as trimming/cutting.
I installed mine over a full sized BED RUG. Tight but works fine
No
Barbaro Matos yes you can
Excellent install video
Thanks 👍
What size bed is this on?
Make sure not to put ammo in the Ammo Cans.
What's to keep someone from removing corner covers and removing j-hooks?
Nothing.. but I don't see it moving once it's installed .
Do they have this for a ford ranger 2019 model
No, they only make these for real trucks.
Why couldn’t he have installed the ammo can wheels before he drop the drawer in
More room
Because they wouldn't let the rear drawer wheels fit past. The ammo can wheels stop the drawer coming out .
Great video. How do you think this system would work on an F-250 Super duty with the built in tail gate step?

is it possible to install only half, I am afraid my dirt bike won't be able to be secured on top of it?
You can buy a core trax kit which adds 2 rails with tie downs to the top of the decked system. You can find the kit on their website

Handles should be factory installed
Why wouldn’t they make built in sides to go over existing truck bed sides .Because now the deb is worthless
Ammo Can? really? I would love to try using water soaked ammo
I'm regretting purchasing my decked, I'm having a hard time loading my dirtbike and I lost a lot of space.
dude im so using a drill for all fasteners....my brain hurts watching your wrist turn argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Is it just me or dose he struggle using simple tools this was pain full to watch
I now that decked says you can install with a bedrug but with minor adjustments do you think I could pull off and install on a new GMC At4x???
