    Thankful for this. Began basic Hebrew 3 years ago but each classmate dropped out one by one until I was the one left so the teacher could not sustain the class…

    This was so fun. Reminds when I started Hebrew school as a child. It was good to hear the language I grew up learning and read the Siddur.

    Brilliant. Already lined up and saved to list the Hebrew course by TMS but waiting to get the textbooks. This is very useful, thank you.

    What about ancient Hebrew? The evolution from syllabic cuneiform to 2nd temple Aramaic seems like a better place to start because name places and adjectives need more thoughtful derivation.

    Thank you so much for this video.
    Please I have a question:
    Why did you choose to pronounce the 6th letter (ך) as "vav" and not "waw"?

    Like studying translations vs Hebrew texts is seeing the movie vs reading the novel.
    So, obviously a lot is lost or misinterpreted. I’m discovering.

    The 6th letter is pronounced with a "w." This is the more ancient pronunciation. And the pronunciation taught by the Hebrew University. Dr Bill Barrick taught this for years. Not sure why you are using the more modern "v"?

      Glad you enjoyed the content! If you're looking to learn to read and study the Hebrew Bible, there are a few options I think of. For physical copies, the Complete Jewish Bible and Jewish Study Bible are both options I've seen available in book stores. If you prefer digital resources, Logos bible software offers several options, including the Tanakh by JPS, Lexham Hebrew Bible, and Reverse Interlinears that can show English/Hebrew or English/Greek together. If you're looking for a free online resource, I recommend checking out Blue Letter Bible. Best of luck with your studies!

      Thank you Joshua Great Helpful Info!I’m planning on this Bible to begin with from Bible Society of Israel Hebrew Old Testament in Massoretic text, including translations in Hebrew in the Aramaic sections with New Testament in Modern Hebrew
      Hebrew Edition on Amazon.
      Do you know if there will be more soon in this Teaching series? I’ll also watch the older Hebrew classes on the Masters site. Also finding many TH-cam channels with classes but only want the OT Biblical Massoretic Text? Thank you Bro!

    At :17 sec in to the lesson. God did not choose Hebrew, I think God created all things using Hebrew, remember before Babel there was only one language.

      There are other languages that predate Hebrew.

      @@HiwaymanKS Ok, could you post the name of it please. Do you know what the name Adam means in Hebrew? Do you know what Adam mean in any other languages of the world?

    • @HiwaymanKS
      @HiwaymanKS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@greengateacreshomestead4324 I am not an expert by any means but I am aware that there are several that predate Hebrew. For example Sumerian, Akkadian and Egyptian Hieroglyphics are much older. Remember Abraham was from Ur of the Chaldees and more than likely would have spoken Akkadian and Assyrian at the time.

    • @greengateacreshomestead4324
      @greengateacreshomestead4324 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HiwaymanKS Agreed with all you said, but we can also look at OT and noticed that at the time of deportation to Babylon the Jews would have to learn the Chaldeans language and customs etc. But even apart from the Bible, language experts don't agree as to how old one is, since is based on writing discoveries. But God does leave his signature on everything he made. Am sure you know that the Ancient Hebrew language is also pictogram language much like the hieroglyphics, but unlike those, the meaning of them is much deeper in the Ancient Hebrew. I am sure you have studied the word " In the Beginning " in Hebrew. Or the very name of God " YHWH " you just don't see those kinds of deep meaning in any other languages of the world.

    • @HiwaymanKS
      @HiwaymanKS ปีที่แล้ว

      @@greengateacreshomestead4324 so you are implying that God chose Abraham because he spoke Hebrew?

  • @ashershaham

    Forget it. There is no way and no chance under heaven that you can read and understand the bible in one year of effort. Even native Hebrew speakers cannot do that. Be ready for a much much bigger effort.
