Are you guys locals? Is there any database like American whitewater for Europe with all the important information about the rivers? Great video!

Judging from their accents I would say that they are Irish. There is no central database of European whitewater instead we rely upon guidebooks, forums, facebook groups, asking other kayakers and some river gauge data. If you are interested in checking out European whitewater then a great place to start is by taking a look at RiverApp(mobile app). Its a tool used by kayakers to easily check river guage data for whitewater sections to find out what's running. However it is not a complete map of european whitewater but is quite good for the UK, Ireland and Austria. France, Italy and Slovenia are lacking from it though. The other main resource is guidebooks, in particular, White Water North Alps by Pete Bandtock and White Water South Alps by Peter Knowles and Ian Beecroft. Other than that the best thing to do is just talk to kayakers you know have been out there about what they reccomend checking out or to post in kayaking facebook groups asking for advice. Also worth checking out world.rainchasers.com/ to see what times of year each country is best to visit for their whitewater season.

Mr Peter, I’m an American living in Germany with easy van access to Swiss. Are you in the region?
