Eric Avery is a genius. One of my main influences in my bass playing, he's not about virtuosity nor how fast you can play, it's all about serving the song with beautiful melodies.
I have been searching for this album for the past year. My music students have caused me to reconnect with my influences. I started to realize what a bridge this particular album was for me out of grunge/alternative into a wide variety of music. Great stuff. Amazing riffs and melodies. Just bought it again on eBay. Thanks for the upload.
Never got enough attention.. so many of the songs on this album are fukn so pretty and were so ritual in my younger days. I WANT THOSE DAYS BACK.. AND THIS BAND!
Interesting thing about this song in particular of course is that it's the only song on this album (I believe) that was going to be a Jane's song. There are outtakes from soundchecks on the last tour of Avery/Navarro/Perkins jamming Iris sans Perry. But Perkins went with Porno, so Michael Murphy came into the fold and honestly...I'm glad he did. The drums on the whole album are his and it wouldn't be the same without him.
Hey, I think it's amazing you uploaded this album to TH-cam. It's so rare and hard to find these days, it's great that the web is able to revive such lovely creations like this.
Just discovered this band as I was sifting through the random bands that have found their way onto my media player via various torrents. I have to say, I fell in love with this tune right away. The melodies are simply genius.
18 years later and it still sounds as fresh as a daisy(or fresh as a WHATEVER)this album is AWESOME!!! iT SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN WAY MORE PROPS, so it is in the world of music.Dave, Eric, and Stephens best work.

@TheGargantuanSock You are correct sir!! Sorry for the mistake, but I have gone for 18 years thinking it was stephen, and it turns out to be micheal m. Thanks for the call. I even had the cd and did not know. Thanks for the info.
It is in my will that this song be played at my memorial. Possibly my favorite guitar song of all time! just behind Hendrix's "Little Wing".
It’s definitely a damn masterpiece
Look at all the beautiful gray-haired children in the comments still loving this wonderful song!
I love being nostalgic with fellow middle-aged folks!!

Avery, Navarro and Perkins at its best
Perkins not on it. Michael Murphy played the drums. But, genius nonetheless.
If I had known this album would be so hard to find/listen to in streaming, I would have kept my cassette from the 90s

Bullshit. If you're so talented let's hear some of your music then you fuckup.
Even if you did, which you don’t, you’re still an insufferable wanker just for saying this in the comments
