Excellent review/demo, and superb sounding amp. I was a friend of Taku Sakashta, for whom Bill K named this amp. Never heard the amp before, but Two Rock really got it right!
From what I can hear the overdrive is much smoother on the TS1. I have a Bloomfield and the cleans are great but I'm not in love with the drive channel.
@@aaronwatter lol, yeah tell me about it. The cleans are so amazing tho and the features are nice. The clean channel also takes pedals very well so I still love it.
Great sounds , great Playing(as always) just enjoying this clip's enough for me caus' from a pricepoint of view: which playing could/would afford this combination?
I wish Two-Rock would release a TS1 Studio 35W, similar to the Studio Signature but with the TS1 circuit style… (I know, maybe too much concurrence with the TS1 40/20, but still a smaller cheaper head would be lovely).
The more I think about it, the more I realize it would make complete sense to have a “Studio TS”. Just take the lead channel of the TS1, no extra switching such EQ1/EQ2 and FET, keep just the usual three switches for deep, mid and bright, put bypass in the back, it would become an awesome amp for lead, perfect companion for players that already own a clean amp such the Studio Signature (Or even CRS and TC). Smaller head, lighter, less wattage, so no real competition with the big 100w heads… and also cheaper (for a Two-Rock), even if it’s in the £3k range like the curent SS.
Not so sure about that - SLO is a gain classic and it’s 6L6? The EVH line? A lot of Mesa’s lineup? I generally like the grit in the mid-range of EL34’s but a lot of great gainy 6L6 out there!
I understand the heritage of the circuit. I think if you want to appeal to more buyers in 2023 when owning 10 amps might not be achievable by many players but who still want to spend a pretty penny on A quality VERSATILE amp, a reverb version would be a good gamble. Love 2 rock tones got excited by the joey landreth sig. I would consider trading my Roseland for a reverb version of the TS-1 ….maybe! Never heard a bad TS-1 demo sounds great.
You have to try it. It is never the same when you hear the tone in front if it. I have Friedman, Marshall, PRS, and EVH amps and this one is by far one of best amp I ever had and you will understand why the price.
Hey, you have an eye for detail! These are coasters that we use for stacking heads and cabs for products that are for sale. This helps to avoid any marking.
@@PeachGuitars Thanks, that's what I guessed. What material? I have a 100/50 CRS and 2 X 12 cab shipping today. I am thinking of doing the same. My first thought is felt. Other considerations: cork, leather, cloth, Sorbothane. Awesome playing and great comparisons as usual. I can only dream. Thank you!
hi bro.i had see many your great video demos. so i want to know could these two rock traditional clean or ts-1 work well under 100db.or 90 db at home!!! thank you!!!!
Stunning playing Jack… this vid along with a bunch of emails back and forth with Corey Congilio… and i will be joining the two rock family with a 100w TS1 & a 100w CRS…
I have a matchless independence 35 and its similar in that its unlike the rest of their range and overdrivey. Its a very sweet amp, this is also. Do you/Would you do any comparisons with matchless or is that not a brand you're affiliated with ? Love your work !!
Almost pulled the trigger earlier this year, but went for the Suhr SL68, because I thought it would compliment my Mesa LoneStar better (Mesa’s most underrated amp :) ). Next on my list though.
Sorry, but you have your background on the TS1 wrong. It was originally produced in limited numbers and was named "Tone Secret 1" after Taku Shakashta who died in 2010. Bill Krinard made several NOS models for his friends. One went to me and I had it for 9 years and sold it last year. Bill had Robben Ford's Dumble in the shop because Robben wanted Bill to build a clone of his Dumble to use on the road in California. The original TS1s were clones of that amp, including the bright cap which I and others hated. It made the amp harsh and bright. Originally, Two Rock was only going to sell limited edition TS1 amps. Bill changed the design to eliminate the bright cap and some regular production TS1s were sold. Then production started again a few years ago when ownership of Two Rock changed hands again. If you think that this is Two Rock's most underrated amp you should check out the Akoya. I think it's more underrated than the TS1.
Absolutely correct , Poor Taku had the factory unit next door and one night on leaving and getting into his Nissan Sports car he was attacked ( attempted mugging ) and stabbed to death . Taku was also famous for making Pickups , Smokey Signal Pedals and of course the Guitar which he built for Robben Ford . He used that for a few years . The TS1 was a full D style amp as it started out but as most D guys know that a Dumbleator is required as the buffered effects loop . The latest version now has that built in . Even with nothing in the loop the original sounded better with the Dlator on ..These amps are sensational , but a little expensive , and it is easier to go to Amplified Nation or Ceriatone to get something similar at a reasonable price.
@@cliverkay Not sure you'd save that much with AN. You would with Ceriatone. If saving money is the goal definitely go with the lesser models. It's my understanding that AN has cloned the Mayer Sig so he's a fan of Two Rock. That tells you something. Those older TS1s, the originals, were made with all NOS parts, including the transformers. It's what separated them from the production amps.
Deciding between the Bloomfield, TS1, and CRS. I mainly play strats and I’m used to a fender amp type sound. As much as I love gain channels clean tone is #1 for me. How does the BD clean stack up to the TS1 and CRS?
these are expensive tho right....or at least they will be now ..... nice tho and after further listening great demo.. and natuarly..great playing....all the best
You look like Joe Bonamassa, but lot more good looking. Lol. On a separate note, Helix can do this and everything else. Only exception would be Fender clean probably. But I think that's also achievable.
@@cardbored_ Hey man. I am also a big fan of Friedman amps. I own a 50 watts Small Box and I also own a Two Rock Crystal and a TS1. To be honest both of my two Rock amps sounds way better than my Friedman. Sound is bigger, less compressed, more articulated and with better dynamics. I have A/B them many times and I have recorded a lot of music with those 3 amps . I do think they are really expensieve but at least for me they worth every cent.

TS-1 clean - 16:56
CRS clean - 17:36
TS-1 crunch - 17:12
CRS crunch - 17:53
The tone starting at 7:27 my goodness! That’s really sweet.

I just got a TS1 and it is amazing 💯🎉😎 Best sounding amp I own 💯 Jack you sounded amazing as always🙏👍
do a shoot out between this and bloomfield drive and sinewave cyn-drive
How does it compare to the Bloomfield Drive?
I don't know anything about two rock amps but I'm sold. Another great job Jack.
How’s does this amp differ from the Bloomfield drive?

No reverb on this

I have a signed copy of Joey Landreth's Whiskey album telling me to go buy a TS1 lol. Still saving my pennies...
Jack playing the Nik Huber orca a real treat!☺
It's under rated... because it's ********* expensive! Holy Schmoly....Add in your 10k Orca and you have a "very under rated" setup :)
I really like this channel, I’m looking to get some of the gear I see here
Really great video!! Thanks for this!

7:48 what kind of scale is that?
Can anyone comment on the difference between the 50 W and 100/50 W head? thanks!
That rig sounds super.
I have a Kemper profile of this amp, and it’s the sweetest lead tone ever. Hold any note and it breaks out into these amazing overtones.

Hard to get a gain channel to sound really good w 6L6s cause they have such a stellar clean tone They did a good job Similar to my 4 6L6 Tonemaster

Nice amp, I'd have to save up a couple years to afford it!
Start saving promise you won’t be sorry
A couple of years ?? More like a DECADE
Us per capita is 65k usd. 😂. Yeah capitalism affects stuff.
Yeah, and nik huber orca 59 is about 8-10k $$, need to sell my kidney🤦♂️🤷♂️
Jack, I know you’re a big Zepp fan. I feel like you could get some RAH type tones with this amp. Thoughts?
JackyBoy, Uncle Gazza here. Looks like you have a more interesting admirer than us old fart guitar nerds, eh. You have my blessing, get it on baby.
Prefer the classic reverb myself. It's easier to dial in mid then take it out imo. Both are fabulous.
How does the Bloomfield compare to both?
The differenct between TS and Classic sounds like the transition from Fender brown to black pannel.
much bigger in person. This amp is everybit the dumble its suppose to be. Takes pedals better than any other amp on the market IMO

alot of jealous kantana bedroom guitarists in the chat tonight hehe ;)
