Ink pens, ink, ink wells in school desks. Hadn't thought of those in years! Jana, perhaps in your "spare" tme you could do a tutorial about Ravelry tips!!!!!!
Thank you both so much for spending time on the woolly winter countdown 2024! I've been enjoying your collab & sharing so much this December. I've learned somthings too. Thank you both and Happy New Year🎉 !
Everything I know about Ravelry, I learned in Jana's class! 😊 I've kept it all updated since then and love it. I didn't think about books though...good tip!
Thanks Anne and Jana. My husband is a retired teacher. We still have pens and pencils after 10 years of retirement. We are finally using up many of the pens this year.
Exploding root beer in my husband's boyhood garage is a family story I haven't heard for a while, so your hooch-making tales brings that memory to the fore! I'm on the toe decreases of my W&N Advent socks. I'm picking up our grandson shortly for a 4-day stay! 😊❤️
Another great episode! We understand all the work it takes and we all thank you very much! Good luck with the hard cider, sounds like fun. What a time to get all those apples - right at Christmas. Funny story, Anne, about the ketchup. The little sock is adorable.
Knitting and Science, love it❤. Whoa thank you for educating us on how Ravelry can help us save money and TIME 😮. I know this is in the wrong spot for the drawing but thats ok.
Oh I do love new pens - and purple…and yes a good fountain pen ❤ - kindred spirits. You need a bleep warning so I don’t laugh spew my coffee! Your gifts to each other are SOOO much fun!!
So excited, after searching every year I finally found Crackling Oat Bran !! Now I know what the excitement is about. Definitely something I will have to limit myself to only once a year😂
When you mentioned the count downs for other holidays, I thought YES !!! But, I get it, so much goes into this each year. However, maybe, just maybe, as this one is at winter solstice, maybe a mini summer solstice count down ? I expect that would get in the way of other plans during the busy summer though, just a thought. We do really appreciate your time given for this, it's my absolute favourite !
OMgosh, this was such a great episode! I came away with all sorts of great ideas to try. The pen segment made me laugh because I also love them, and apparently my folks did too. I have multiple ziploc gallon bags of them we gathered up as we got their house ready to sell. And now I want to try a fountain pen! Maybe I’ll treat myself to one as a reward for going through the bags…
Apple Cider sounds good, but Apple Wine is yummy too. We made beer when we lived overseas in a dry Country. Sounds like you are enjoying the process and blessing of the fruit you were given. Rest up❤ Have fun rest up.
Another episode that doesn’t disappoint like all the rest!!! I find so much joy watching the 2 of you through the count down day/year ❤Sharing on Instagram/Facebook = my way of sharing joy and exposure for the 2 of you ❤️
I remember having penmanship class through 8th grade (went to a parochial school in the 60"s). We used the fountain pens with the liquid ink cartridges that on occasion would leak if you put a little to much pressure when writing and bent the nib.
LOL... I remember (over 50 years ago) hearing that my grandfather made 'hard' apple cider in the barn, where the apple cider press was and I just remember that there were jars of 'slightly opened cider' left in the top eaves of the barn ....for a while.....to make it 'hard'. I can tell you there was no 'sanitizing' going on there. It was an old wooden press that we all got to hand crank.... if we were able to. I think I was too little at the time to manage it. Thanks for the memories.
The ketchup disaster made me laugh. My husband makes his own vanilla extract, with 5 vanilla beans and alcohol. We always get stares when we bring out the bourbon or vodka bottle (why get another container?). But no one complains when the cookies and cakes come out of the oven!
On year we made root beer and had the whole thing explode because we didn’t pasteurize to stop the yeast from working. Our garage was a mess cars everything. Found out we just could of put the bottles in the dishwasher and run it and it would have been cool. Just saying we still had a few left we’re great.

Fountain pens take me back to high school and my shorthand classes in the 60’s. Love the mini sock❤❤❤. I’ve made a few.
I have been using a fountain pen for a while now and I love it!! Jana, you are too funny with your bleep.😂
Another great episode to sit and listen to.

Thanks so much Debbie
Pen people are my people ❤. I’m a retired teacher and have a lot of pen varieties in a large box!
3:56 I love those pens!!! But they have to be needle point tips. I bought the rainbow pack for work so I can annoy people with crazy colors hahaha
Pretty
