Hey Ian! Blake here, one of the rules advisors for the event. Great performance by you and everyone involved. Hope that you had fun and enjoyed our event. After doing almost 10 years of CEDH events we have tried to innovate the process as much as we can to keep it fair within a 4 player format. Really appreciate that you were open to trying our process as we continue to innovate it. Hope to see you at more in the future.
Hey Ian! Aaron piloting the Talion list here. Thank you for your kind words!! 🙏🏻 much respect for you and congrats on your win! I’ll see you at Lotuscon, hope you feel better my friend.
You're on a rampage dude! 2 major wins in a row with 2 different decks. Please keep doing what you're doing and continue to be a positive influence on the cEDH community. Got to watch you win the Lotus Con main event from a few feet away BTW. I did not make it to day 2 unfortunately, but doubt I would have even made it to the tournament if it weren't for your channel. I might have to hit you up about coaching!
Walking ballista in Rocco is just an alternate win if you pass combat step. Food Chain into Rocco on 3, grab ranger cap, gran walking, cast big walking to kill the table
This is so sweet, especially after the last mind sculptors podcast episode where you said you prefer windfall over timetwister most of the time and even if you wanted to play timetwister, you couldn’t/wouldn‘t spend the money on one :) Congratulations!
Congratulations on winning 🎉🎉 I always tell people borne upon a wind and talion is super strong in bluefarm but I'm glad you point it out . I did use to play bluefarm without naus i run peer into the abyss and mizzix's mastery back then i use entomb to throw peer to graveyard or entomb for breach piece if needed .
Congrats on your performance! I was impressed with your politicking and game sense you know the game well. I’ll have my rematch and show you how Emry wins games!
Congratulations on the big win! Super impressive and it's awesome to be able to back up your coaching, etc. Results speak for themselves and there's no denying success. Are you willing to share your Naus-less blue farm list? Really interested in seeing your inclusions when you don't have to worry as much about overall CMC.
I think a big reason why we are seeing these interesting choices in decks like 2 mana counterspells, not having a mystic remora could be because of no proxies being allowed in this tournament. But tbh I truly dont know haha
Congrats Ian. This format sounds really strange but sorta cool. I don’t mind it at all as long as you know about it ahead of time. Seems like it encourages things that are somewhat discouraged and incentivizes decks that can do combat which I think is pretty cool. Win conless stax may actually be a good fit for the format as you’ll often gets kills in your draws. OH SHIT! SLICER! Broke it. I broke the format. I built slicer for my daughter to learn on and the deck honestly wins its fair share or maybe just below it’s fair share? I bet it’s around 20-22% but it ALWAYS kills someone and it OFTEN kills two people and loses to the last. Oh shit! Jeska Ishai would be a great option too. It wins some games and also often deletes a player or two. No it’s gotta be Slicer though for this format. Top 16 out of 64? That’s kinda silly. I think cedh needs to move past this top 16 nonsense. Spend 5 rounds playing to cut to the top TWENTY FIVE PERCENT??? Then you just play a single elimination tourney? That’s incorrect. I mean for sure that’s wrong. If we would get to Swiss rounds to determine the final pod sooner than later (people will clearly figure this out eventually) then we could maybe add another Swiss round and/or add some time to the games and we can get to the next stage of cedh tourney evolution And infinite turns has to be a win even if you do turns after time just obviously. I feel like people need help w this stuff, where can I go to straighten these kids out 😉
The Ledger shredder in prosperitys list was my brainchild, the reason behind it is just how many roles it fills within the deck. With the heavy amount of value engines, lifetotal pressure is a very real issue as they help drag the game longer. Just being able to have another large flyer does a ton to delay forced action from combat pressure on you. Also as a result of the large amount of engines, you end up with a lot of suboptimal cards in your hand at any given time and being able to loot at an fast rate towards more meaningful interaction or wincons is quite valuable. Even as a piece for trying to go fast it is useful as it just gives you greater velocity to assemble your wins. Finally it obviously feeds breach which is nice for going for weird tight resource lines on turns where you try to jam multiple different winning lines
It's best with commanders that can reset the top of the library and Kraun gives you that for sure. It is definitely for the slower variants but it's solid
Congrats man! One thing im curious about regarding the playstyle explanation: why is tempo established as spending resources on a card that generates you advantages mostly over time in magic? In literally all other games i have played this play pattern is called value or scaling and the opposite of tempo. This has always been confusing to me. What i know as tempo cedh calls turbo
I haven’t gotten to that part in the video yet, but I’ve always considered tempo to be sacrificing card advantage for mana advantage. Maybe that angle is more appropriate?
Also fatestitcher, and basalt are combo pieces, the shimmer effects make emry’s weakness for stax effects significantly less of a downside since you can respond to them
@@ComedIanMTG well it is indeed a failed event ... aimed for 110-120 players and giving out a timetwister ina 64 non proxy environment turns it into a P2W scenario ... so the point stands as for level of competition over there ... cEDH needs to get serious on standard/rules and format because the format is turning to be a clown shit show with every tour having different rules/tour schematic ... doesnt make sense and wont ever be taken seriously as a "competitive" format if nothing gets truly regulated

Btw, there was a Saw In Half in the Malcolm/Vial Smasher deck, I think it was just missed 👍
Lol whoops
It was nice to meet you and play against you, Ian. Congratulations on your win!

Great playing against you in Round 5! Congrats on the Twister!
Appreciate the shoutout, was a blast playing with you last weekend! Stoked you took home the twister, nice work man 🔥

This is what I came to comment too!
Congratulations!
Yes!!! I watched the videos where you talked about winning one!
Very cool man! Happy for ya. Im hoping to get myself a twister in a couple months after some liquidating
Congratulations on winning 🎉🎉

Yooo awesome, major congratz!
Congrats Ian!
Maybe we’ll get to see your Timetwister this weekend in Illinois!
Congrats homie! Much deserved
Congratulations! A well deserved win!
I hope you get well from getting sick, SICK FROM ALL THE SUCCESS AND WINNING, LMAO GOTTEM! Grats dude!
Wow, congrats on the win!
Congrats on the win

Walking balista works for the bommer man combo. After infinite you put balista in grave and bomber returns it to hand
Hell yeah man. Congratulations ♥️
I’m a big temur fan, love that thras/jeska list.
I agree with the stop chump blocking your way ahead into late rounds…. Let there be kill point incentive and of course …. There can be only ONE
Nice win Ian, you deserve it bro! 💪
Congrats, tovarish 👍👍
Gratz Ian.🎉
Wow, congrats!
Congratz but I gotta say. God damn is it boring to see blue-farm over and over again. I wish we'd get something new soon to take down the king.
I agree but also look at most of the recent tournaments and they have not been like this
@@ComedIanMTG yeah I mean sometimes you see less of them but it's always gonna be THE staple deck until something radical happens I think.

Can’t wait for you to have TWO time twisters!
IM TRYING 🤣
Awesome dude! Grats!!!
Did you do a recap for Bonfire? I saw you just missed the top 16!
Not yet, was waiting on some footage
Congrats Ian.

Haven't finished the video but how much did Bowmasters influence in not playing green and mana dorks (due to the pinging)?
Congrats, that’s awesome! Are you going to frame the Time Twister?
No I'm definitely selling it for sure 😅
Signed by you maybe?@@ComedIanMTG
i would guess a lot of oddities in these lists could be explained by the lack of proxies
What do you think of counter balance in bluefarm?
It's best with commanders that can reset the top of the library and Kraun gives you that for sure.
It is definitely for the slower variants but it's solid
Hell yea man congrats
This point system has been around for a long time Outside of c e d h tournaments
Hey Ian, lately I’ve been really interested in necropotence/borne/final fortune lines on blue farm, what are your thoughts on it?
Seem sick but I'd love to test them before taking a stance
Gratz, does this mean you won't play for the Timetwister at LotusCON? Who needs two?
Everyone who pays bills 🤣
Why you did not show is your beautiful Timetwister you have won in the video?
Playing to eliminate> playing to the draw

Congrats on the Timetwister win! Are you going to be covering Silicon Dynasty 2? There are some STRANGE decks in the top 16.
These next 2 weeks are insanely busy but if I get some time later in the month I'm going to try
@@ComedIanMTG Sounds good, I'm especially curious about your take on the dungeon adventure deck. Keep doing what you do!
What is Phyrexian Metamorph for?
Cloning dockside mostly haha
Can also copy The One Ring
@@ComedIanMTGHeh, sure, congrats on the win!
@15:12 wow, this guy is hilarious. Must be a comedian or smth...
how did you handle the "2 players left over" thing. since there are 66 players, there would be 16 pods of 4 and then 2 players left over
2 players got byes
If you want more insight on the emry combo and decklist. Morb is a combo peice in emry
Also fatestitcher, and basalt are combo pieces, the shimmer effects make emry’s weakness for stax effects significantly less of a downside since you can respond to them
This is all true are you familiar with the commander?
@@Tiger_Bane, yes refer to firrlo's list for the basalt combo. you could say I have played emry a little to much trying to get it to work in cedh.
Blue farm everywhere.
WE dont want to see the blue yeti in the middle of the screen > flip your image and put yourself on the left
annul is super underrated imo
Pretty sure hostage taker is for the one ring.
Edh top 16 has the win loss percentage way off for this tournament
no proxy 64 people ... easy cash grab for you ... noobs players lol
This is pretty rude to the players present and just incorrect. I played against many good players and several known frequent tournament participants
