I rock the surge all day everyday at work and the leatherman arc after work. Love them both, just purchased the wave plus as a Christmas gift. They are all excellent tools and every man should own one.
Hey Big Time Guys! I’ve been so curious about Leatherman’s after this video I did some research just for funsies and I learned something which I never knew. Leatherman is named after a dude! Timothy S Leatherman. I thought for the last 30 years it was a tool originally designed for people that work with leather. Mind blown! Thanks for starting me on this journey.
after carrying a Greber mp600 for over 10yrs i bought a wave and a rachet driver and regret waiting so long. ive modded it so much that it is so perfect i cant justify the price of the Arc. but damn i want 1
Final comment. I used to work for a painting contractor and me and the crew always carry Leathermans and we made it a point to be able to get your Leatherman out and prepare the knife for use with one hand while at the top of a ladder. Which new Leatherman would you recommend to pass that test?
Bsck in school before i lost it,i had a stainless steel micrs an now 4 years ago a surge an jave carried it everywhere everyday until my birthday of last year in December i made s purchase of the Arc and had it custom engraved an carry both my surge sn Arc,but i find myself going to the Arc more simply its fadter st deployment an especially one handed friendly while working on projects or on the job unless i need more heavier duty i pill the surge,i looking to adding a signal to the family soon. Aelrc gets some crap but i absolutely love mine an ues it was more expensive than my surge but i had money to spare at the time honestly just wanted one sn see what sll the fuss was about, honestly i e never had an issue with my cutters either, the notch in the cutters is for making a notch in wire to steip it,an two the awl has a notch for scoring wire as well,i just wish they has left the esgle claw style can opener on the arc as well as a T-shank adapter an maybe the serrated blade for tje price sn yes i understand with upgraded steel, anyway, ive let people at work while working next to them borrow mine an there reaction of how fast they can deploy the blade or pliers sn left amazed.
@Big Time Kenny excellent break down. Each of the leatherman have different strengths but it sounds like the fast opening of the ARC outweighs some of its weaknesses in your opinion. Thanks for letting us know!
Not unless you use it while you are holding a Starbucks cup and a Louis Vuitton bag. We think the Skeletool is great and Gals that have their own are Big Time in our book! Obviously you can stand on your own and don’t need a BTG for your multi tool needs. We just hope he has his own leatherman too because if he doesn’t you might need to consider upgrading the guy not the tool. #bigtimerelationshipgoals
@big time Kenny are any of those worth being in the video? We have no experience with them but would be happy to review if you think they are big time!
I had the the PSII, worst can opener ever made. Check it out in real life. It’s so thick it just mashed the can, they got thinner over time and actually work now.
Don’t be scared they are meant to be used. If you are going to own one give it hell! You will remember the stories of what you did with it long after the money you spent on it.
The Leatherman Arc is an improvement on the Wave but you do lose the serrated blade. Even so, either one will make for a great EDC tool. I have both but I would pick up the Arc first if going out on a job. Previously it would have been the Wave or a Victorinox Spirit.
While we appreciate the Super Tool is a big time piece of kit, we think our tool belts weigh less then a super tool with more functionality. Always heard good things about the Charge will check it out!
Was the Super Tool the first one with the saw? I loved the saw! I was always concerned about dulling it but then back in the day I didn’t realize I could replace the blade.

100% Agree every man oughta have 1.
We are with you on that. They are both great options and having a few is always better!

Right on!
yea, I thought that for the longest time also. here in Oklahoma everyone refers to multi tools as a Leatherman no matter what you maybe carrying.
“Pry Bar” hilarious. This is my favorite episodes so far!
We are glad you are enjoying thanks for all the comments and support!

It’s especially James Franco approved because the Arc is all One hand opening lol
Killing it BT Garrison!

Any Leatherman based on the Wave design, blades on the outside. We just would not be standing under you when you did that.
The Arc if you want fast deployment if can spare money
Plus better blade steel
BTG - what watches are each of you guys sporting in this vid?!
@Big Time Jbur Timex, never stops ticking

@@BigTimeGuys ,yes,no problem, definitely fast opening and closing on the tools on the Arc,it's a great tool even it's expensive.
Thank goodness I always have a BTG with me because all I have is the BASIC Skeletool. Does this make me a Basic Time Gal?

You left out the st300 and charge tti plus plus leatherman bomd sn curl an signal in the leatherman line up.

Leatherman PST II. End of discussion- I cannot be convinced otherwise.
PST II is OG we think that is a Big Time Choice, sorry it was not featured!

I have a signal and an arc . The arc was so pricey that im nervous to take it out! So i might retun it. The signal is a work horse
Don’t be scared they are meant to be used. If you are going to own one give it hell! You will remember the stories of what you did with it long after the money you spent on it.
I used the scissors all the time. But I am a Little Time Guy.
When Big Time Rick helps BT Rufus he is required to use the scissors as well, can’t trust Rick’s aim with the the pointy tools

Thanks Big Time Michael! Big Time Rick would agree completely. He probably can’t even find his Wave anymore!
No mention of the Super Tool?! My first leatherman is hurt. Love my current: Charge TTI+. Can we see a leatherman and baby food face off?
While we appreciate the Super Tool is a big time piece of kit, we think our tool belts weigh less then a super tool with more functionality. Always heard good things about the Charge will check it out!

Ron Howard
Thanks for the comparison but we don’t think we are on Ron’s level yet. One day though hopefully!
De.. volution..
Not a fan?
@@BigTimeGuys very disapointed fan
What is your pick?
