the main thing that balances the jackhammer in my eyes is the fact you get jack shit for healing unless you're using the chainsaw so you're giving up a lot of the utility of the normal shotguns where you just pull them up upclose for heals that along with it having a very commital playstyle having you use the jacky most of the time it gets rewards you for getting close which for the big meta of the game or for cybergrind where I like to play is to not really get close and shoot shit from offstage

Sadly this is false, because the official Twitter account for the game doesn’t know how to count.it does 50% more damage, 150% total damage compared to without it.
I love the jackhammer I think it’s a lot of fun and very satisfying. Also you can turn the core eject into a makeshift malicious rail cannon that dose a little less damage but recharges in 2 seconds. fun fact. Hitting the saw with the knuckleblaster causes it to be launched away from you without the cord. It kinda acts like the sharpshooter revolver after that.
i literally started playing the game less than a week ago, only like 10-15 hrs in the game, and after looking up a guide on how to get the alternate weapons i just naturally found that alt marksman + sawed on main to be the best, it feels great and does good damage... i'm also trying to incorporate the pump jackhammer into my meta as well bc of just how broken it is but it does take some time to learn

You can dodge the conduction damage when using an electric weapon underwater. You have to dodge twice: first, you must have i-frames when the attack initially hits (meaning, unintuitively, that you must dodge slightly *before* firing), and then you must dodge again when the conduction loops back, about 0.7 seconds later.

the firestarter is actually kinda nice. of course it doesn't possess the raw power of the other 2 red guns or the jackhammer but burning enemies all take 150% damage with the exception of the insurrectionist taking 200%. also it's the only thing that can make guttertanks slip from their punch in Brutal. it's definitely meant to be more of a supportive weapon.
btw, the Bluetooth chainsaw bug thing, works on any enemy. I believe in order to do it the enemy needs to teleport. I haven't been able to do it consistently, but I've only ever gotten it to work on enemies that can teleport.
i use fire starter (which you dont have to oil up all the way to get started) as a combo starter such as; fire starter, railgun, shotgun chainsaw, which is significant for killing marices fast and killing cerb quickly too, pretty much all stone enemies are dead with that combo already, and an alternitive to railgun after you've used it already, (like on another marice combo) a jackhammer, overpump, or really any other quick or big damage dealers will do just fine
honestly i like the firestarter. i use it in combination with other weapons like sawblades when placing down sawtraps or for big groups of weaker enemies, also the fire makes enemies take more damage i think
Funny thing I was testing the update with 0-5 cuz I wanted to see the buffs and it got somehow stucked in the cerberi the projectile was inmortal and stayed just attached to v1 and somehow the chainsaw recharged and it was still glitching. It was pretty hilarious lol
The jackhammer can only do that much damage within melee range, which in a chaotic situation can sometimes be difficult. It also has its own cooldown so unless you give up shotgun swapping, you cannot spam it effectively. Personally I think it is in a fine state, although that may just be me not being used to the awkward way it works. Jumpstart being able to one-shot I imagine will get patched out. I would like to see the conductor bonus from nails get a damage buff so the red nailgun could get some more use. I was immediately skeptical when I first saw water conducting electricity in the trailer, since certain fights in 5-1 just get completely skipped. If you hit the virtue directly with the electric railcannon then it also gets instakilled alongside every other enemy in that first fight. Maybe they could limit the distance water can conduct electricity or just outright remove it. I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned about the firestarter. I could see them giving it the same treatment as the SRS cannon by giving it bonuses against specific enemies.
So new patch did end up nerfing the jackhammer, it can no longer one shot sentries by itself (add knuckleblaster and it instakills again) Firestarter's afterburn damage did get a buff but I still don't see it being used for much outside of maybe clearing groups of fodder.
just a question, what mod is it that changes your style bonuses to be "+A WHOLE LOTTA DEAD GUYS" for multikill and such, i keep seeing it in videos and i cant find what mod it is on thunderstore
Time is naught but a circle. When the sawblade launcher first came out it could instantly delete Minos. Now with the last variant of the sawblade launcher. It can now one shot Sisyphus.
With the shotgun getting stuck to Gabriel, i am a complete ultra kill newbie and after hours of trying to beat him i fired a saw and watched the revelation of my life as his whole health bar depleted. Though I was free it wasn't that satisfying
The way you do Bluetooth chainsaw is by starting on the chainsaw and shotgun swapping all three of your shotguns once close to and at what you want to kill. Then just hold right click
mind you the rocket launcher is supposed to do extra damage to cerbri fire starter needs like a debuff on enemies that cause them to take extra damage from explosives or general damage
i found a way to stack chainsaws without even moving or punching required, they stuck in your head forever until you interact with them, you can use them as sawblades and the bluetooth chaingun is even funnier
i think a good nerf for alt shotgun would be if it goes on cooldown for one of the variants, all of the other ones also go on cooldown so you can't just keep spamming it
Believe this or not, the blue jackhammer/alt shotgun actually lets you turns a core eject into a hitscan so if you time it correctly: you produce a slightly smaller core nuke with a single weapon (it's hard to do but doesn't cost a whole railcannon)
if you switch to the oil rocket while holding right click it skips the pull out animation and you can shoot while spraying oil, quickswapping with it like that can make it pretty good imo
so, funny thing is that you can actually get higher if you just grapple cancel, it'll put you at max velocity which can oneshot a Cerb on green variant it is balanced through lack of punching bullet
The Jumpstart electric explosion can bounce off magnets, so if you put 3 Sisiphus with magnets on them and make a single jumpstart explode, they get one shot
The oil increases all damage by 150% IIRC. Also slide jumping doesn't work in all situations, especially ones where you need to go up a staircase while mimics are following you during a P-Rank run. EDIT: I compared oil to slide jumping using the jackhammer as a speedometer. Both can get you to the same speed, but oil accelerates almost immediately while slide jumping takes time to build up speed.

Also other people have mentioned it, but fire also makes enemies take 1.5x damage (2x on insurrectionists)
I’m not entirely sure on how it works, but sometimes when you’re holding down the saw, and not shooting it as long as you are vaguely looking at an enemy(I’ve seen it happen with Leviathan), or for this instance, Gabriel, it will cause damage to him and heal you. Keep in mind this means the enemies are going to probably become damn near unkillable if the weapons are this good
"this cerberus were gonna oil up" ayo???
Can someone tell me whats the name of that funny mod that makes the style texts like "+STAY MAD"
i use fire starter (which you dont have to oil up all the way to get started) as a combo starter such as; fire starter, railgun, shotgun chainsaw, which is significant for killing marices fast and killing cerb quickly too, pretty much all stone enemies are dead with that combo already, and an alternitive to railgun after you've used it already, (like on another marice combo) a jackhammer, overpump, or really any other quick or big damage dealers will do just fine
honestly i like the firestarter. i use it in combination with other weapons like sawblades when placing down sawtraps or for big groups of weaker enemies, also the fire makes enemies take more damage i think
Anti filth weapon
the fire doesn't increase damage dealt to enemies that is exclusively an insurrectionist thing. hakita has confirmed this to be intentional
yeah
@@linguini645 thank you my lord linguini, i shall not make such a silly error again. (still setting them on fire is funny i probably have a problem)
The oil is a debuff, it makes the enemy take more damage from other sources
That could change my opinion on it depending on how big the number is
@@digitalizedmind6784 It adds 150% damage on top of whatever your attack already does
Update: according to replies to other comments, this only applies to insurrectionist
It doesnt add 150%, it increases it *to* 150%. Big difference.
@@digitalizedmind6784It applies to all enemies, but the insurrectionist takes 200% damage instead of the normal buff of 150%
Funny thing I was testing the update with 0-5 cuz I wanted to see the buffs and it got somehow stucked in the cerberi the projectile was inmortal and stayed just attached to v1 and somehow the chainsaw recharged and it was still glitching. It was pretty hilarious lol
From now on im calling the jumpstarter "the electric chair
take a shot every time he says “frankly”
The conductor bonus does a absolute ton of damage already? With green nail you can make it one shot swordsmachines with the arcs
@daktotathecolossus7404 Ok yeah I'm dumb, you are absolutely right.
So new patch did end up nerfing the jackhammer, it can no longer one shot sentries by itself (add knuckleblaster and it instakills again)
Firestarter's afterburn damage did get a buff but I still don't see it being used for much outside of maybe clearing groups of fodder.
14:12 if you point the railgun at the virtue it does the ‘main’ damage to it.
(I found this out trying to be good at that level I hate
When enemies are on fire all of your attacks do 50% more damage
3:12 how did you do that? Like killing a bunch od enemies
just a question, what mod is it that changes your style bonuses to be "+A WHOLE LOTTA DEAD GUYS" for multikill and such, i keep seeing it in videos and i cant find what mod it is on thunderstore
Time is naught but a circle. When the sawblade launcher first came out it could instantly delete Minos.
Now with the last variant of the sawblade launcher. It can now one shot Sisyphus.
"Babe wake up, new way to beat minos prime in 5 seconds released"
With the shotgun getting stuck to Gabriel, i am a complete ultra kill newbie and after hours of trying to beat him i fired a saw and watched the revelation of my life as his whole health bar depleted. Though I was free it wasn't that satisfying
The way you do Bluetooth chainsaw is by starting on the chainsaw and shotgun swapping all three of your shotguns once close to and at what you want to kill. Then just hold right click
What's the mod that changes the style bonuses?
mind you the rocket launcher is supposed to do extra damage to cerbri
fire starter needs like a debuff on enemies that cause them to take extra damage from explosives or general damage
i found a way to stack chainsaws without even moving or punching required, they stuck in your head forever until you interact with them, you can use them as sawblades and the bluetooth chaingun is even funnier
14:13 fun fact, if you shoot the virtue, EVERYTHING dies
Last I checked, that is.
i think a good nerf for alt shotgun would be if it goes on cooldown for one of the variants, all of the other ones also go on cooldown
so you can't just keep spamming it
I do have a question. Will there ever be alternates for the rocket launcher and railcannon?
Why are you asking this guy? Ask hakita.
Probably not since this update was advertised as the update that completes V1's arsenal
hakita said there won't be, as well as no future for gold variants aside from yellow arm
The knockback of the jackhammer reminds me of bokoblin shield bounce from botw
Believe this or not, the blue jackhammer/alt shotgun actually lets you turns a core eject into a hitscan so if you time it correctly: you produce a slightly smaller core nuke with a single weapon (it's hard to do but doesn't cost a whole railcannon)
if you switch to the oil rocket while holding right click it skips the pull out animation and you can shoot while spraying oil, quickswapping with it like that can make it pretty good imo
considering hakita's history with fun bugs, this might not be patched.
@@Rustylorde it 100% won't be, although I still think fire should do more damage if you have oil on an enemy
so, funny thing is that you can actually get higher if you just grapple cancel, it'll put you at max velocity which can oneshot a Cerb on green variant
it is balanced through lack of punching bullet
I like how you say "core nuke" as "corn yuke"
The bug with chainsaw also work on swordmachines and cerberi
The red rocket launcher when enemies on fire take 150% damage
hakita has confirmed this to not be true intentionally
The Jumpstart electric explosion can bounce off magnets, so if you put 3 Sisiphus with magnets on them and make a single jumpstart explode, they get one shot
taking a shot every time this guy says frankly
The oil increases all damage by 150% IIRC. Also slide jumping doesn't work in all situations, especially ones where you need to go up a staircase while mimics are following you during a P-Rank run.
EDIT:
I compared oil to slide jumping using the jackhammer as a speedometer. Both can get you to the same speed, but oil accelerates almost immediately while slide jumping takes time to build up speed.
I'll stop asking for a sword now.
Honestly, when I first saw this update, my first thought was that if Hakita was adding these seemingly broken weapons, we were going to need them to face whatever abominations he's cooking for the rest of Act 3. I wouldn't want to face Jesus Prime without Jackhammer
Glad to see that I wasn’t the only one who thought that this update is great, but it also made some things extremely easier. Hope that Hakita will patch it
it's insane how much sisyphus got buffed tho
The chainsaw get get stuck to a majority of enemy but it's more common with gabriel for some reason
Hey man, love your videos! But I can’t help but notice your British? If it’s ok can you be Australian or Taiwanese or something or something other than British?
0:56 + Fuck You is crazy ☠️
1-4 speedruns bouta get crazy
I havent gotten time to test it out yet, but from footage ive seen i think fire does way more on the ground than it does just on an oiled enemy. Ive seen both be used on cerebus, and i couldve sworn the ground-fire dealt, like, 5 times the damage shown in this video.
I’ve also noticed a bug where the screen won’t stop shaking, and it will begin deleting parts of an enemies body. So the only part of a Cerberus that I can see is the chest while it’s still alive and currently trying to kill me.
"it takes a significant amount of time oiling them up" 16:59
Yeah i bet it does 😏
me hearing that ULTRAKILL actually has bugs that aren't a game addition: wait what
the firestarter if used on flesh prison or panopticon when they first spawn their eyes will set all of the eyes on fire
