My dad had an uncle who was a Marine who served with the 2nd Army Division in WW1. I've seen a patch of the Army 2nd Infantry Division with the Marine Corp Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in the center of the Star on the Division patch.

Fun Fact : I am a biker and i was in a major "Outlaw" motorcycle club. Most of the older clubs were formed by WW2 vets after they got home. Anyway, most of the big outlaw clubs wear a small diamond shaped patch over our hearts with a big "1" in the center and a percent symbol next to it. The "1%er" patch. Yeah, though the idea of calling ourselves "1%ers" wasn't specifically kicked off by WW2 vets, we did get the idea for the design of that patch from the 1st Marine Div. Guadalcanal patch.

The U.S. Army Reserve's 245th PSYOP Co. out of Dallas, Texas was called up for service in Desert Storm and assigned to the U.S.M.C.'s 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. They were awarded Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbons, the Naval Meritorious Unit Citation and allowed to wear 1st and 2nd Marine Division combat patches on their army uniforms.

The Marine Corps no longer wear them but use them extensively for signs and logos.

During the Vietnam war there was an official "patch/insignia" that was worn by the Combined Action Program (CAP) Marines. This was actually a pin that was issued and was required wear by the Marines in CAP.

Many marines who crossed decks to the army wear their division patches as their combat patch if they deployed as a marine. It’s against the regs, ‘cause it’s only meant for soldiers who deployed under USMC units, but it’s practically unenforceable because all prior marines do it.

Not sure whether this was during the 1991 gulf war or the global war on terror but the 2nd marine division also at one point must have had army soldiers assigned to it similarly to the 1st marine division. I have a army issue 2nd marine division patch given to me by one of my high school JROTC instructors who served in the army from 1987-2007.

I have a usmc uniform with a air cadet patch on the left sleeve. This is the only patch on the uniform besides rank. How ever it is named e.herman and dated 1943. Im confused to why this in on the uniform. It has a gold wing and propeller with a black background to match the uniform

Shouldn't there be a Indian Head patch from World War I , when they were attached with the army's Second Inf Div. ?

yes you are correct. I will put it in along with the background when I redo the video. But I do talk about the marine corps, wearing the second infantry division patch in the world world one patch video.
