Great video. I have been looking for this solution for Chuck's Guides and Kneeboard for over a year with no success. Your video has solve a long going issue. Great job!
To anyone having the issue with "Modify" still being greyed out, ensure the preferences for the "saved games" folder is set to "saved games", not DCS or open beta. The installation folder needs to be set to open beta if that is what you are using, and make sure there's no duplicate folders in your saved games and DCS saved games folders.
Hi, Within DCS the default size for kneeboard pages is 1024 x 768 pixels 3:4 ratio. The airfield maps/info page for the Caucasus are all 1024 x 768. In Kneeboard Builder - Preferances try changing the resolution to 1200 dpi (ppi) and the size of the kneeboard to 1024 x 768. Having set to 800 x 800 looks a bit squashed.
for the knowledge base: The Pimax8k X runs fine with the orignal document sizes of 1024*768. However I would like to have the kneeboard fixed "down below", i.e. somewhere on my lap so that I just have to look down and not wasting valuable viewing space. I messed around with changing the offsets in Custom Kneeboard, but I didn't find out how to use.
Nice video. Could you make a step by step kneeboard for a mission ease mate? Include stuff like Intel, pics of targets, SAM sites and so on. Just a basic step by step to show how to do it for custom missions? Thanks
good video - like button smashed. i think i finally know how to use Knee-Board Builder. Will try it tomorrow. Haven;t slept yet tonight, probably not a good night to try it.....bad reviews come from those who don't sleep and don't do previews like I just did with your video. I will let-r-rip tomorrow. and thanks again for sharing.
I have my DCS 2.5.6 stable and open beta installed on an H SSD .... Windows in on SSD C! ....... Well Kneeboardbuilder always tells me "path error" ...... I had moved my DCS from C: a few months ago to my SSD H: !! I can't seem to find the solution to this problem.
sorry man, I'm not much use for technical support. I'd reach out to the guy who made the kneeboard builder. He may be able to help better than I. All I can say is maybe uninstal then reinstall the software so it sees where you move things too?
@@rodwhite5274 Fixed : That's run ^^ example among others: plane rampstart or choose only the airports that you want on the Caucasus and not have the whole list by default or create some for the syria map and the persian map, just create a pdf from Word and kneeboard transforms it! you just need to organize the names of the lists in relation to the missions !!!......but i have to put myself the folders and images in .miz !! but never mind , that's cool , i can custom kneeboard for each mission and each aircraft now ^^
Rod, thank you very much for your swift feedback. Much appreciated. Thx for sharing this tool! I will give it a try. Just checking latest discussion on ED.
@@terryteed1903 I've solved this problem, check if the path to the saved games are correct in preferences it must be for instance: C:\Users\User\Saved Games\DCS
@@fernandocriativo3d74 thanks Fernando. I've got it to modify now. But it wont do anything in game. Im on the steam beta version. Any ideas? If I put the preference in the beta folder itdoesnt work. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I may be ignorant of what the kneeboard offers, but why not just run the PDF's on the tablet (or 2nd monitor?) You can use a utility like PDF-Xchange to split/merge PDF's into smaller chunks. It seems like 'Kneeboard Builder' is great for having the kneeboard info available as a popup in your cockpit, but it seems unnecessary if you want to access it on a tablet.
If you have problems like the waypoints disappearing off the map for the viggen kneeboard once you resize/move it, you can find solutions to most problems by searching the following thread: forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=129341

Awesome video... and even more awesome desktop background!
nice tutorial, and damn man, your voice is so relaxing: i can use it without the videos as asmr
Interesting. Great for training! I just use two monitors to see the guides at same time.
Awesome tutorial 100%!!
For my screen W:3440 x H:1440 I found these numbers
to be excellent H:1650 x W:1275
Cool, this would be great for startup procedures for hi fi planes like the A10C.

Thanks I'll try that.
You are welcome, Great Video
the reason it is squashed is because he is importing LANDSCAPE pdfs into a portrait format. the 800x800 is a in-between solution

I spent the first few minutes paused at 1:07 admiring your desktop.
Tequila!
I have dual monitors as well but for VR it’s not viable and my primary is 49 inch super ultra wide, so that’s far to turn my head to read things lol
