I used to watch their videos before performing at high school talent shows, to take on their sort of stage persona. I was so inspired by their energy and groove.
Such a underrated band.
Understatement of the century
I absolutely agree with you....I saw them live, he was outstanding! Great front man and the band were amazing
I saw these guys live when I was 15 years old, and it was, like, super magical. 15 years later, the song still gives me god damn chills.
Are they still playing together?
@@thamaranjos That's a good question. Unfortunately, I'm not sure :(. My experience with them was about 50% of my life ago! Ha. It would be fantastic if they were.
I'm still remember when they come to Indonesia in 2005 for Soundrenaline, i can see and im listen, i will never forget it, 'Terima kasih'
I saw them at Reading festival in 2004 when I was 25, still one of the best live bands I have stumbled upon.
hahhaha same, what a jam
"we're all such cheap products in someone else's notebook". What a great line
It actually is "we're all sluts, cheap products in someone else's notebook".
(comment cont.)
Dennis then went on to create this band with some friends with the intention of basically breaking down everything that he had built with Refused, and then rebuilding it.
If you didn't know already Dennis and a lot of those he interacts with, have very strong marxist ideals. Everything Refused did was to generate emotion, to draw attention to themselves; to become a spectacle.
He's a huge fan of Guy Debord. Read a bit of the stuff he wrote about about 60's France and you'll see the link. Society of the Spectacle explains much of the ideology behind Dennis's motives.
I have always loved these guys music videos, they don't try to make a huge plot line, they just simply show the band playing. I miss music videos like these.
Buenísima canción, 14 años ya y solo medio millón de vistas, pero no importa, no deja de ser una hermosa canción.
Give Dennis Lyxzen a chance to just have fun, man! He fronted Refused, one of the sickest punk revivalists and revolutionaries of the last 20 years. He's made his mark.
I miss this band so much
I miss Refused too, and as you say, i miss the old angry "fuck capitalism" mentality, that you heard in songs like New Noise and The Deadly Rythm (of the Production line).
I miss something encouraging people to armed struggle against imperialism!
I love this band and I love this song!!
Gotta admit- laughed out loud when two ads started before the video played. Good work Epitaph/INC- you really were fucked over....
never gets old... even if she plays organ on a fender rhodes i still love it
***** Fender Rhodes is THE shit !!!
i saw them at 2002 in a festival in Germany. they were amazing. i think they have formated too early. these days they could be a smash!
did capitalism also steal anything above 240p?
dennis has the best dance moves ever, its undeniable
I saw these guys live in Kansas City of all places, and when this song came on the first thing i thought of was, "this is my favorite song of all time." ;)
@mahaabbath As an anarchist here in america we have solidarity with those fighting the state in greece
If you get the chance to see em live TAKE IT! Theyre awesome!
0:24 Days of War, Nights of Love
this book is amazing!
Crimethinc....damn..i was reading that book when this album came out but never saw the music video. 2020 needs that book!
Theon Greyjoy on drums
omg lol.
And Haymitch on vocals
Wow lol good one
Nowhere's untouched by the shame
Who said we could get by with our childhood games
Days of innocence are all long gone
Avoid the shock honey and try to live on
Woke up all paralysed
All dreams corrupted in front of our eyes
On every forehead of every little whore
There's a sign that says, 'baby don't come back no more'
Distasteful ugly and cheap
That is how you make me feel, I said
Capitalism stole my virginity
Capitalism stole, capitalism stole
Capitalism stole my virginity
Robbed out of our bleeding hearts
Smashed our illusions, tore them all apart
Now we are unsentimental, unafraid
To destroy this culture that we hate
So tired of being nothing
When, when we should be everything
On every forehead of every little whore
There's a sign that says, 'baby we're all born to die'
Distasteful ugly and cheap
That is how you make me feel, I said
Capitalism stole my virginity
Capitalism stole, capitalism stole
Capitalism stole - yeah
We are all sluts, cheap products
In someone else's notebook
We are all sluts, cheap products
In someone else's notebook
We are all sluts, cheap products
In someone else's notebook
We are all sluts, cheap products
In someone else's notebook
Distasteful ugly and cheap
That is how you make me feel, I said
Capitalism stole my virginity
Capitalism stole, capitalism stole
Capitalism stole my virginity, oh
Capitalism stole, capitalism stole
Capitalism stole my virginity, oh yeah
Capitalism stole, capitalism stole
Capitalism stole my virginity, oh
Can we get a decent quality upload of this?
This song is awesome. It also makes a lot of great points.
can we have a damn HD video of this classic please? please. thanks.
th-cam.com/video/f9EU8QGkC9U/w-d-xo.html
Man, I remember when I saw them with the locust in 2002 at the palace.
I saw that tour. What a great time to be alive
so remember this song when i was a lil kid over ten years ago! wow still very good!
"We are all sluts, cheap products in someone else's notebook" 🤘🏻Brilliant🤘🏻
This band give the strength to keep going...
exactly! when i saw them on youtube it was like "wtf is this?", you know. i like more hardcore stuff but yesterday i saw them live and i completely changed my opinion. it was pleasing, delicious and awesome energic kickass at the same time.
love this song!!!!
Great song! Great song title.
@AmoebaLandsCraft Exactly! Not many indie bands are going for that revolutionary marxism approach. ;-)
If you started it on a Courteeners *shudders* video though, I'd be right there with you...
INTERNATIONAL NOISE CONSPIRACY ARE THE BEST !!! (Durruti as well) from Italy
I'm still listening it in 2019
from 2006
Since 01, 19 years hence
Pssshhh...I have you both beat...I started listening to them in the sixties.
Phenomenal band.
Hell yes
Du tres lourd...J'adore . puissant, efficace , du très
bon rock !
Oh my gosh, yes, this song is still good.
Power to you, brother, from Mexico.
Yeah, I think it's way more complicated then them "selling out" or anything like that. From reading their writings it's easy that to see that they put a lot of thought into this move.
15 years old. Damn
Grande som!!!
@Jforce7 Yeah, Indie may have originally been a blanket term for anyone not belonging to a label, but now it's turned into a style with its own subgenres, like Indie pop and Indie rock etc. and Graham Coxon of Blur said he preferred to think of Blur's music as indie instead of Britpop, depsite them being on Food Music/EMI's books.
Exactly my point! What you are talking about is Corporatocracy-Capitalism which is the one in most countries. Politicians are sponsored by corporations and in turn they need to pay for the "donation".
I love that there are now advertizments before this song :)
Not if you have a free adblocker
@@jtthomas5568 you're missing what he's saying...
That's Brett! Gotta make that capital
See capitalism DOES steal your virginity
@KirbiesandYoshies you just said everything i was thinking about these types of people, but i never knew how to say it. nice.
ouvi muito essa musica no mp3, dentro do busão...
La banda mas infravalorada
Curte som, Binho???
@Jforce7 Actually indie rock as a genre and as a definition for a band without major label signing is a completely different thing.
Dec 2018. And i'm listening this song.
amo esse som S2
cool song. greetings from Guatemala.
damn I feel old
fudogchomp me too, brother...
me too man, me too...
fuck... me too
yup
I actually feel younger tbh lol
Such a good one!
:24 Days of War, Nights of Love.
I'm reaching with this comment, but I'll admit, I think you miss the point. The band - and I'm talking about Refused here - literally imploded. Everyone was tired. They were all spent from putting everything into, what ended up being, their last album, from touring, from working so damn hard night-to-night and cross-country. Tensions were high and next thing you know the band went down just like they started.
Rock music had so much promise. I blame Pitchfork for the genre's misfortunes. Pitchfork caused an unnecessary divide between listeners who want intelligence in rock music and those who want it to be fun and simple. Rock can satisfy both at the same time.
this vibe digs me
anarchism is ruling witout a goverment?
correct me if im wrong, i havnt learnt much about the subject.
i love how i went to this video and the first thing i see is a maxipad advertisement
ohhhh capitalism
@mahaabbath you have got all my support!! Greek people will prevail, i'm sure of that!! Hugs and gasoline from Tuscany! U are tough, U'll make it!
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS, that is wat evry thing is about!!! now you got an start point, you can lern more, go ahead
fantastic
always thought it should have been capitalism SOLD my virginity
Nice song and vid I like the vibe of it.
It may not be Refused, but hey change is good
Hello to Anna S., wherever you may be. Thanks for showing me this song many years ago.
I agree. A bunch of these bands got signed to Epitaph. I don't mind the music, but Epitaph used to be so much more punk.
The irony of the ads on this video are lost on me. Would anyone at epitaph care to explain?
What is it that you're not understanding baby? Maybe I can help, despite not being from Epitaph.
she's reading crimethinc.'s "days of war, nights of love" at 00:25. good book! funny to see it in a t(i)nc video, tho.
I love so much this song! I know them thanks to Rock sound magazine
@jamesadamdavis
I think the fact that this was released by Warner Music Group ads a bit of irony to the song it's self as well...
18 years later and Inge is still playing that black Rickenbacker.
beautiful
Dennis Lyxzen early 90s wearing Earth Crisis crewnweck sweatshirt huhu so different to this.
emma goldman
Pure fucking fire. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
is that guy from refused???
bad changing..
Ha, my first time noticing that the girl at 0:24 is reading "Days of War, Nights of Love."
ahhh, the song @tylerinacoma listened to over and over again when he was 17. now its our turn. still relevant.
I'm trying to find a music video that was shown on mtv2 around 01-03 in the uk, all i remember is a big box being delivered to a young girls flat (think she was japanese), the flat had white walls, modern, futuristic, she opened the box and a robot came out, quite big, the size of a human, but looked obviously like a robot, not like a human, kind of like the rocky iv robot but not as bad, i think the robot was white, been trying to remember it/find it for ages, any ideas or help plz pm me, thnx!
Capitalism Stole My Virginity but the ransom demand was reasonable.
ROFL
do you know about anarchism and communism? becouse that answare is confousing to me
@croscoe85 I love Refused, but this is one of the best comments I've ever seen.
So I'm here repeating and repeating this video, fuck I love this song
I was not talking about the band, I was talking about a different subject... The person who I was responding too was mentioning the band.
Read the comments again
first time i'm hearing them...and i like
2021!!
i love this
Yupp, I'd play this ay any party anywhere. Since -00 -01 =)
yes, theres a class system and its dominating us all, what we need now (like i said in my first comment) we need a mix of the ways out there without the disadvantages. like a free communist country, or a selfless capitalist coountry
who's here after Coronavirus and the whole money system is turned upside down?
The symptoms of a failing system.
Hope the worst
A total re calibration of Caputalism because the the powers that be have realised the the thick aspects who keep voting for it are starting to ask little questions about it and it's validity but still keep voting for it.
When the fake punks are maga jab-loving sellouts? Jello, NOFX, Circle Jerks - and don't forget the #FooPfizers
I‘m here after the pandemic and have since become an anti-capitalist
@Noa4h when i found out how bad it is, i decided i would make the shoes count, i've been making the best of the worst
Bassist kicks arse.
@ThisNoAll yeah, try cheers from serbia!
YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!
@AmoebaLandsCraft If you think the music's bland, then that's fair enough - but I can't for the life of me see where you can then deduce anyone who listens to this - and isn't actively discovering for some "musical exploration" - is musically simple-minded.
It's a bonus if the music happens to touch upon a new sound - not the be-all and end-all. I think the lyrical content alone sets it miles apart from average "mainstream" music.
so damn right in those days :-( !
Anyone else notice the girl in this video reading Crimethinc.'s Days of War, Nights of Love @ 0:25?
It is not capitalism but rather individualism and consumerism what you are describing. It can be argued that capitalism leads to the before mentioned but capitalism is the only way an economy can run efficiently. Do not be outrospective but rather introspective. Do not blame the system for what we are but blame yourself for what the system is.
naked theft from the Manic Street Preachers but I fucking loved this album when it came out anyway. Deadly song.
Why is this amazing song made of pixels in 2022?
