Kudos to you guys for doing everything the right way and not cutting any corners. I can't stop comparing it in my head to the repair work other channels are doing to fix lazy designs on modern yahts. The strip planked house alone is so much stronger than major structural elements of a Lagoon.

The burl and black walnut look great, but I would not use them for the majority of interior trim. The black walnut could used to trim the edges of the berths and such, and it will not be dinged as much with use. The burl needs a wider expanse to show its true personality. It is looking to be a two dog boat. Keep up the great work, and we will wait for the return of Alix.

It is good to have family worth caring about and even better when your best friend/s are family too and just say "go" we will handle it until you are ready and can get back into the build. It is important but not too important that family and friends can't take priority over it. Steve, you and the "crew" are doing this the right way imo

Good luck with family issues Alix. I'd go with the white ash on the inside. It's lighter color will lighten up the interior and make it seem brighter. Also, its toughness will prevent it form getting messed up from bumps or thing hitting the interior surfaces like a softer wood would do.

Between the raw speed the sides of the house went up (I was expecting that to be the same sort of timescale as the planking), Akiva's very loud drinking, and the hypno-zone effect of being a gopro that's being shaken by power tools - this week's got it all!
To be honest, I'm not concerned with WHY the nail bent over...only that it did, in fact, bend over. In watching Steve do so, I immediately felt better about my own propensity to bend nails over! Steve delivers again!

The eye is definately drawn to it. Perhaps it will be most effewctive as a highlight wood around a plainer grained white wood.
You two remind me of watching Dick Proenneke. Mad building skills, not afraid of work and a spirit of adventure.

That self-mixing epoxy in the tube is such a perfect material for that job.
Puts it where you want it, no batches, no putty knives. We figure it saved a bunch of material, too, because of how consistently we can lay it.
