    Oreet mate hows it goin. Your videos are by far the best in these regions of Sri Lanka, top stuff.
    Mind a little help? how easy is it to get hold of a bike around these parts? We'll probably head over soon and you seem the man in the know. Anywhere you recommend North, Northeast, East away from most tourists?
    Cheers mate all the best.

    Hey there! Just stumbled upon your channel and I'm absolutely hooked on your videos! Currently indulging in a binge-watching session - your Sri Lankan series is an absolute gem! Thank you for showcasing the often overlooked northern and eastern parts of Sri Lanka. Your efforts are bound to attract more travelers and contribute to the economic growth of these lesser explored areas. Kudos to you! 👏 Looking forward to more exciting content. Cheers!

    Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing this great find. What was that other beach you mentioned... sounded like "Katia Beach" and is that near by as well? Did you travel by scooter throughout the Island?

    • @TheWanderLife

      Hey Gene! It’s been such a while since I posted this video that I’m not sure what I said 🙈 if you know the timestamp in the video I’ll look back and listen to what I’m saying.
      As for getting around, yea, I travelled the whole country by scooter and it was really fantastic. A little taxing for the back and bum on the longer journeys, but great freedom nonetheless. I was actually back in Sri Lanka recently for another 3 months, but I didn’t make any content then, just holidaying and so I feel pretty well versed with the country if you have any questions

    HEYY! Thanks for bringing us along on your beautiful adventure - great video - Quick quesiton re scooter - Do you reckon that I could get away without a motorcycle license because I just got my UK driving license and I heard that that's not enough for a 100cc + scooter here?

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you ride here and potentially not be pulled over?…Yea, but it’s a high risk strategy. If you do get pulled over, best case scenario you end up paying more than what the actual licence costs. Worst case, I suppose they could hold the bike and land you in some bother with whoever you rent it from etc plus a possibly hefty fine. From what I actually saw myself, many places won’t rent a bike to you without the proper papers because if you get pulled, it could land back on them. That’s not to say you won’t find somewhere mind, but honestly it’s just easier to sort the licence. You can either do it yourself, which is what I did or you can keep it simple and pay the rental company to do everything for you. They can actually do that in advance too before you arrive so it’s all sorted and in order for your first day. I think the bigger issue at hand is actually whether you have any experience riding a bike in countries such as Sri Lanka. If you do, sweet…but I’d say that it’s not necessarily the best place to dive in and learn. The driving style, particularly in more built up areas and on busy roads can be extremely different to back in the UK. I personally saw not only the aftermath of a pretty horrendous crash a tourist had but also actually quite a few very serious (life ending) crashes locals had, so ultimately, it’s not for me to say don’t do it (if you’re not experienced) because I actually learnt in India years ago 🙈😂, but certainly question whether your ability and experience align with the conditions ✌🏻

    • @ssap3717
      @ssap3717 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sri Lankan police go easy on foreigners. They likely dont mind as long you have some kind of a driving license.

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got stopped a fair few times…always friendly and polite, but when asked for the licence, it was specifically the Sri Lankan one they wanted to see. Didn’t experience it myself, but I have friends who have he extortion attempts because of licence issues - for every 100 good police officers, there’s always a couple of bad eggs (same goes in every country). For literally how little the licence costs, just better to sort it for peace of mind

    11:24 actually there are sharks in Trincomalee sea. Most of them are Blacktip Reef Shark, and Grey Reef Shark, are generally not considered a significant threat to humans. Also risk of such shark's encounter is relatively low, however it's always a good idea to be aware of them.

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I heard later that you can see certain ones if you dive at/near Pigeon island, so assumed that there are obviously some there but the fishermen in the previous video made it sound like you’d be mauled by 1000kg monsters of you went in the wrong water 😂

    What do you use for have clear voice even if there heavy wind for your GoPro camara ?

    • @TheWanderLife
      @TheWanderLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should use a windslayer/wind muff. You can pick one up fairly easily on amazon/ebay if it's available where you are. Alternatively. you can DIY one (there's a few videos on YT for that). I actually need to pick one up myself still because I've got too much interference from the wind myself. If you hear the audio loud and clear it's only because I have a strong voice and there was no wind messing the audio up.
