Thanks for doing a tutorial on this. That's a really cool machine. I can't wait to see the next version of it.

That (changing filter type) is really quite cool.

I just realised you've already watched the tutorial I was talking about, I can see your comment, so sorry...I guess there isn't really a solution to what you want to do. The EMX is such a weird machine. It took me so long to really understand the Move and the Repeat functions but ever since I learned how to use them, now I'm really using them all the time. Very helpful, also for motion sequence parts. The accent function is also highly underrated. Thanks for the nice comment, see ya!

Very helpful videos, thank you! Is it possible to erase a motion sequence for a drum part without stopping the play?

Thank you! I don't think that's possible but you can overwrite it in realtime or turn motion sequence off by deactivating Smooth and Trig Hold.

OK thank you, I will try these two methods. Stupid that I did not get them on my own 😁 I have also another problem with my ESX, maybe you are familiar with it. When I have a song with a BD playing and a vocal, an ESX original one or a self recorded sample, the vocal is distorted. When I mute the BD the vocal sounds normal. At first I thought it's a problem of my self made samples but then I tried it with a standard vocal sample and it's the same 😬

@@mcgrandroyal Do you have both tracks running through the compressor in the fx section by any chance? If so, lower the value for the kick and fx edit 2 and adjust edit 1 for a better attack. But even if you don't use the compressor at all, it could just be the kick that's too loud. These low frequencies can suppress some of the higher signals. You might not notice this clearly enough on most consumer headphones and speakers. Very many producers, including myself, tend to throw too much bass in the mix and that can easily lead to this type of problems. Try to mix with just barely enough bass for you to still like the result and make sure two different tracks don't build up too much low frequency content by accident.

@@LousyFacelift Thank you very much for you support. I checked everything you mentioned and could fix the problem. It had to do with the volume. I turned down the ESX master volume and tube gain (they were not turned up very high before but at least too much) and turned up my Z5500 speakers and now it works fine 👌🏻 Thank you for your time

That's great to hear, thanks for the nice feedback and enjoy making music!

Edit: I just found this comment again after seven years and have to correct it - tempo changes can be recorded within a pattern no problem and this can lead to great results. I did this in one of my tracks - "Dumbledore, not you!" slowing everything down right before the outro part.

Cool video...I've never tried the step editor, seems interesting. Do you use this on every song you make now on the EMX?

BlueGodMusic Yes, it's want makes the sounds come to life on the EMX, even if it just means correcting a motion sequence. The LFO screams for step editing. ;)

Hi! On the EMX you have the realtime recording mode for live recording, the step sequencing mode for grid oriented recording and the step recording mode which is located in the step edit section. What you are looking for sounds like a combination of the last two methods. When using the step sequencer for melodic parts you always need to change the note values later on in edit mode. Please visit my channel for a tutorial on the step recording mode, if you're interested. I really like your vids!

Hello budy, how are you? how do i copy my sequence made at bar 1 to bar 2 for example? thanks

Hi! I think it's somewhere in this other video I made:
      th-cam.com/video/eyuuBPpfB4Q/w-d-xo.html
If you mean simply extending the length of a sequence you can also change the length setting in the pattern section after you've written something.

Hi lousyfacelift I need assistance on how to adjust the tempo for a specific part. I tried to make a song and it came out sounding under the same tempo. :-(
