Yellow was the hero that held off the attacks even after their own death. Truly, a savior many can only dream of. Btw, thank you for always putting so much effort in your every video. I can only imagine how hard it might be to not only code everything, but to also balance it all to make randomness "fair".
I really didn't expect the rainbow marbles to pull through, but yellow managed to buy enough time for Blue to charge the killing blow. That was insanely close.
I *love* how the rainbow marbles wont just lay down their own color all the time, but rather the color of the nearest allied cannon! (like how yellow's marble was laying down green and blue tiles) makes the teams feel more coordinated and the board feel less cluttered! ^_^
This felt like watching a short seven-episode anime - Episode 1: Red. You're introduced to all the characters and their relationships, the setting etc. They grey threat is introduced as an amorphous mass, it's a thinly veiled "removing color from the world" metaphor, yadda yadda. The team has only recently been assembled It's explained that grey is powerful, but between the seven of them they should be strong enough to clear it out. Red, already hotheaded, concludes from this that they'll have no trouble. They become overconfident, and ultimately get killed in a surprise twist at the end that sets the tone for the rest of the series. (Note: A lot of characterization and minutiae would need to be added on top of this plot skeleton) - Episode 2: Orange. Red wasn't really that popular, mostly keeping to themselves and Orange who has been affected the worst by Red's death. They develop a worrisome self-sacrificing streak, jumping in to protect Violet when they were at significantly more risk themselves. This culminates in a mixture of lack of care for their own well-being and failure to properly compensate for Red no longer being in the formation; they expect Red to support them against the attack, but when they look and are reminded that their friend is dead simply slump to the ground and let the attack hit them while Yellow looks on helplessly. Blue being pessimistic but analytical becomes a notable point. - Episode 3: Violet. Having witnessed the death of two of the most lively team members, Yellow takes it upon themselves to rally the rest of the team. Five is still a decently sized team, but only if they work together. This immediately pays off as Violet rushes to Blue's defense just in time for them to team up against what would otherwise have been a lethal attack. With a little chemistry and interaction sprinkled in between them that's been hinted at in earlier episodes (Blue being painfully shy, Violet being heavily protective) the team begins to stabilize...until a sudden, unexpected wave of attacks takes out Violet. - Episode 4: Indigo. By this point, a character death per episode has become the established formula and four seems too few for the team to prevail. The first turning point occurs when Yellow discovers a secret power that might allow them to turn the tide; the problem is that it renders the user incapacitated for a long period before it becomes charged, something that (again) they will need to work together in order to mitigate. Yellow begins charging and the others rally to defend; it goes well, with the team creating a defensive buffer while Yellow concentrates, but Indigo leaves themselves overexposed. It doesn't seem to matter as the attack is loosed, but then before it can hit home the grey performs one last vengeful strike, taking out both Yellow and Indigo in their seeming moment of triumph. The episode ends with only Green and Blue left alive and the grey's fate uncertain. - Episode 5: Yellow. It's revealed that the shot only severely wounded the grey rather than killing it. Blue (who is highly observant despite appearances, and in something of an emotionless fugue by this point) immediately begins charging another strike the same way Yellow did (albeit with no idea what to do with it) but the grey seems to turn Yellow's shot back against them, shocking, distracting, and despairing Blue who drops their charge prematurely and is nearly taken out by a counterattack before Green hears Yellow's voice, still cheerful in spite of everything, encouraging them as the giant ball of energy swings around behind them for another pass at the grey. Blue attempts another charge, but a flashback to Violet's death and the seeming hopelessness of the situation interrupts her again. The yellow attack swings past Blue this time, with a much lengthier conversational sequence; Blue feels inadequate and useless and like Violet died because of them, Yellow tells them it wasn't their fault and that they've always been the smartest out of all of them; surely they'll figure something out. Flashback to Yellow's shot initially missing, and Blue realizes...something, just as the episode ends.
- Episode 6: Green. Field analysis of Yellow's near miss reveals that Blue has spotted a core that seems to be exuding the amorphous, threatening mass. The two are no longer faced with the impossible goal of clearing up the entire grey by themselves; if they can hit that core, the rest is inert and can be disposed off at no risk. They communicate this to Yellow, who swings around for a direct strike at where Blue has identified the core to be...only to be deflected back at the last second. Yellow passes by blue one more time, apologizing that they had to pass their burden on but assuring Blue that they could do it before making a final, futile assault; the attack is clearly too weak to make it to the core now. It dissipates, lingering yellow light outlining Blue who appears to have fallen into despair again...until the camera pans around to their face, revealing determination instead. Blue starts charging. A massive attack is made directly at Green...who realizes that if Blue aborts the charge to save them, they likely won't get another chance. After a brief wordless exchange communicating this, Green prepares to take the attack head-on; a burst of green light from offscreen is the only indication we get of the hit as Blue remains focused on their target. The episode ends with a fully charged Blue staring down the grey, but unsure where to fire; if this shot misses there will be no way to charge another one, and Blue only got a brief glimpse of it before; plus the landmarks that were nearby have been obliterated in the fighting, making it impossible to locate by memory. (Probably add in some Blue/Green interaction in the middle, showcasing the latter defending the former) - Episode 7: Grey. Highly stylized first part. The attack is shown coming for Blue as the grey prepares to overwhelm the last defender and cover the world. Having seen the two failed charges earlier, it feels no threat; it is a highly alien entity, but we get flashes of its "thoughts" which convey meaning as best they can. It is something like a cellular automaton; in the world it existed in, resources are limited only by time (no conservation of energy, more is being generated) but due to this "ease" life has not evolved an internal experience beyond "stimuli good" and "stimuli bad"; it arises naturally rather than through reproduction, which has also caused this. The whole thing has an air of being an environment distinctly created to manufacture semi-organic superweapons. Somehow it came to this world and all color was "stimuli bad". It fires an attack at Blue. Its model of the future is shown predicting the last of the Very Bad Things, which seem to be somehow more colored than the rest of the world, failing to attack a third time and being eliminated by the oncoming attack; the world then turns to greyscale and with none of its former competition the grey expands freely and unstoppably across the cosmos. This grey vision rapidly tints blue from the edges in, transitioning back to Blue's aura. As a single attack bursts through the grey cover and hurtles towards them, everything suddenly clicks; with the relatively calm conditions, it's obvious that the shot (and all the others before it, we see in a montage) was fired directly from the core. Blue's final attack rips the grey's comparatively tiny shot apart, and furthermore lets them pinpoint exactly where the core was by backtracing it; the resulting strike, even larger than Yellow's, tears through the grey and ends the threat for good. I always root for white in all the different marble competitions across youtube, and Here was white's time to shine instead of always performing mediocre. But then yellow comes in nearly gets the killing blow and then buys enough time for blue to charge the killing shot. Proving once again that no matter what video they are in white hasn't found an advantage they can't somehow screw up.
Noel, the light purifier is an entity who wishes everything to be pure. He sends out lethal light rays to all who obstruct justice, and continues on his journey to purity and justice.
Just obstacles. The number indicates how many hits it will take before disappearing. Reason for putting them there is to prevent the other players from easily sneaking a ball behind the boss's blindspot (its turret rotates 90 degrees) without having to work for it first.
