Multiply or Release 43 - Charged Shots vs Burst Shot

- Classic multiply or release, but choose between releasing as a charged shot or a burst shot.
Burst shots size is determined by the remaining amount of charge to release - increased by 1 for every 10 times size.
Settings:
New marbles added every 60 seconds.
Ball size limit is 10000.
Options: Multiply, Release Charged Shot, Release Burst Shot
No shot decay
No auto speed
Map size 60x60
Four colors competing:
Red, Orange, Yellow and Blue

See, the moment orange got a sufficiently beefed up burst, it was over. Burst is so powerful it apparently can't even be contained within the playing field!

It'd be interesting to see an iteration where one side used only burst shots and one side only charged shots (at least that's what I initially understood by the "vs" in the title).
In that case, the map has to be modified where the Burst Shots player has a wall protection against deathstars (massive charged shots) while the Charged Shots player has a defensive nuke option in situations where their opponent gets a large territory. The nuke shouldn't be that big and is only close to their base.
I can see it going either way, I guess the videos we see are already filtered to ignore lucky early wins that are not interesting. My chosen approach would be a gradient of higher-value cells around each base to prevent early lucky shots, but I'd be genuinely interested which type of shot ends up coming on top in the long run.
It really depends on the map setup, specifically how close to the corners the players are spaced. In this version, the players are spaced so close to the corners such that a very large shot needs to hit at exactly the right spot to eliminate a player. That is why the burst shots are dominating in terms of eliminations in the current versions.
I'll probably bring the player bases a bit closer to the center in the next version to give a bit more to charged shots.

@@lostmarbles2d Weren't the bases moved out to the corners because of chained shield hits, which obviously isn't an issue here as shields aren't a thing?
Another thought: Maybe the differentiation could be centered around which option is used for the auto-release of maxed shots. 2 players would release them as Burst, the other 2 as Charged.
A potential mix of charge and burst:
Large marbles are often set to decay so they don't clog up the screen, but what if they decayed by randomly shooting out smaller marbles?
(eg. a 560 marble eventually decays to 542 and so shoots out an 18 point marble.)
I would've expected the winner to be eliminated afterwards, but nope, instead they breached containment.
Can you turn off square darkning, when they are retaken?
I like how it currently is, where it re-brightens over time.
It would be interesting if, when the squares darken, it takes more attacks to control them. and if an attack is too weak, then it brightens up the square.
I actually saw a suggestion of "what if a square was colour-controlled too much, it became a black square?" some time ago.

While below a minimum speed, projectiles slightly speed up in the direction they are travelling. This has been in use for many videos.
