I really needed to see this up and close. Thank you very much.

Are those Wilkinson shears? They do sound lovely!

Yes they certainly do sound lovely ! I wonder if tailors listen to recordings of shears slicing through fabric instead of gentle ocean waves or forest sounds to destress .?

@@rickmoore3730 to tell you the truth I quite often 'dry fire' my shear just for the sound and feeling them in the hand. There certainly is something special about the whole thing.

Robert; In your years of kilt making, have ever had an ‘Ah sh*t” moment and make an accidental cut?

      I've come close....

for one example, I was mentoring a friend who was making his first kilt - I was horrified to learn after the fact that he'd reduced the kilt (ripped along the length of the tartan to reduce it from nominal 27" to the finished length - which is usually somewhere between 21" - 23") along the 'good' edge, leaving the 2nd-best edge to be the lower edge of the finished kilt.
it disturbs my sleep to this day...and in consequence I've never made that mistake !

You left your scissors on the fabric at the beginning. Should follow your own advice. :D

har har...I was wondering how long it would take before someone - smugly-judgemental or otherwise- noticed that I had done that...
