I love "movie first , then food" dates because if you get nervous or don't really know what to talk about you can just talk about the movie you just watched, it will lead to talk about other common tastes, and as you talk you can perceive the other tastes and personality traits without forcing any personal information into the conversation, if it comes, it's naturally. Also, I love watching people talk about things they're passionate about, an "after movie" date is the perfect situation.

Powell's in Portland is the best bookstore for a date! And they have a little coffeehouse inside with big windows for great street view people watching. Looking forward to being able to do that again someday. Also agree...if your date doesn't like how you dress...run away!
