I love video game music soooo much but Kirby songs DEFINITELY hit different. Return To Dreamland is up there as one of my favorite soundtrakcs because some of the songs are so goofy and fun and then you have Under My Control and CROWNED where the developers had to LOCK IN.

If I had to mention one specific Kirby song that lives freely in my head, it's definitely "Mistleinn, Tree Crown Without A Ruler". Idk why but it just hits different? (Maybe because you're essentially fighting an incarnated sin as an interdimensional cat egg wizard)

Plus it combines both magolor and Kirby themes which awesome, honestly an egg fighting to repent for his past sins is wild 💀

Wrong cave theme at 0:58 LOL. The theme that plays there is called "Crystal Dungeons", where you used "Slippery Steps", a theme from White Wafers.
Yes, logically, all music is there to fit a vibe. There is a lot more depth to it though.
As far as composers are concerned, Tadashi Ikegami did work on several games (Kirby's Pinball Land, Dream Land 2, Nightmare in Dream Land, Air Ride, Canvas Curse, Squeak Squad, Epic Yarn, and the two lyrical songs) but his contributions are unclear in many, and in the case of the GBA and Nintendo DS games, it may have been limited to remixing another composer's work, or his own. And leaving out new rising stars Yuuta Ogasawara and Yuki Shimooka, who have a large number of compositions confirmed to be theirs, feels unfair.
Furthermore, not all winter themes are "calm, soothing" or the like. Have you heard "The Last Iceberg" (Kirby's Dream Land 3)? "Tumbling Ice" (Kirby's Return to Dream Land)? That's not counting spin-off games ("Snowy Fields", "Snow Area" from Epic Yarn and Mass Attack respectively).
As more of a music expert and a person who's devoted themself to Kirby music analysis, I want to point out that there is significant intricacy to the themes and each composer's style. I could go on about it for a long while, but in short:
    > Jun Ishikawa has a characteristic melodic major modulating sequence that makes his style distinct, as well as a tendency to recycle or transmit moods rather than concepts. You can trace his beach theme from "Float Islands" to "Aqua Star" to "Bountiful Star" to "Abandoned Beach", his joyous plains themes (between "Peanut Plains" and "Grass Land (3)"), and his distinct themes with a note of melancholy hidden behind otherwise strict sounding music
    > Hirokazu Ando is a master at utilizing motifs to transmit a concept. Best displayed in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The intensity of the final boss theme would be of a different kind if it were limited to "Welcome Your New Overlord". It's the distorted version of Magolor's theme, the motifs pertaining to Kirby and his friends ("Four Adventurers: Cookie Country" and "The Adventure Begins"), the battle ("Road to Victory") and Kirby himself ("Green Greens" and "Kirby's Triumphant Return")...
    ... I've rambled long enough.
