      AAVE or African-American Vernacular English is the better way to say that. AAVE isn't wrong or broken English. It just has different rules. Like double negatives reinforce each other.

    • @MRCOLOURfilld
      @MRCOLOURfilld 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Giannis Antetokounmpo the term "Ebonics" carries a lot of racist undertones and isnt descriptive. Before it was "ebonics" it was "jive". Calling it Ebonics or Jive or Ghetto/Hood is a way to overtly suggest that it is inferior or low class. AAVE is just as consistent as standard american english.

    • @reeceb1259
      @reeceb1259 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MRCOLOURfilld Though I'm well aware that AAVE is the preferred term among (mostly non-Black) linguists (see John McWhorter), Black American (Vernacular) English is a much better name imo, since most Black Americans don't have any cultural connection to Africa whatsoever. Ethiopian, Nigerian, Somali, etc immigrants and their families, on the other hand, are true African-Americans, yet they generally don't speak so-called "African-American" Vernacular English.

    Thanks Moses for all that you do! You have reinvigorated my spark to learn new languages. I spent time in southern California and Arizona, and I was around a lot of Spanish speaking people. While I never took the time to learn it, I could understand. Yesterday after watching 6 hours of your videos, I decided to start studying myself. Then today I went to a local restaurant for lunch and practiced the little I knew. It was very cool to speak to everyone there. Even though most of our conversation was in English, they helped my correct some pronunciations. Thank you again for the inspiration, and please continue your good work!

    Olen itse välillä laiska opiskelemaan, mutta kuin katsoin videoitasi ja näin kuinka innokaasti sinä opiskelet, sain paljon motivaatiota omaan opiskeluun. Minulla on perjantaina ammattikorkeakoulu pääsykoe. Toivon sinulle onnea ja menestystä kielien opiskeluun ja aijon seurata sinun harjoittelua täällä youtubessa :)
