- How to Get to the Ralston Cross | Epic Landscape Photography Views of Glencoe.
Come with us in this video as I show you how to get to the Ralston Cross in Glencoe for some truly EPIC views down the Glencoe Valley.
The cairn is in memory of Ralston Claud Muir, who was Trevor's brother and who died at the age of 32. He loved to climb in the glen (his ashes are here too) and he was a train driver on the west highland line.
Ralston died on the 10th of January 2000 very suddenly after taking unwell on Christmas Day. He died from multiple organ failure caused by a rare form of Leukaemia, which he never knew he had.
All his friends still visit the cairn today, and have a wee dram with him.

That path is always boggy Ginge.. That's the way i head up there too.. My favorite place is at the top of there looking at the Three Sisters.. Awesome video and great pics too..

Great video mate and IMO probably the most breathtaking landscape in the country. I’m yet to see one on a fine sunny day lol but that’s the Scottish weather for you eh?! I visited very briefly heading back from Harris in Feb but cannot wait to spend some time there next year exploring.

Far easier, I find, is to park at Jimmy Saville's house, then follow the old Military Road uphill (not a Roman road - Romans never got that far). At a cairn by the side of the road, turn straight uphill to the cross.
That way, you aren't walking on the main road.

@GingerCaptures fair enough. Yeah, parking is a nightmare in Glencoe. Particularly since they made one of the car parks buses only.
