#Antarctica #ep2 #Geoguesser - เกม
The Grumps saying “I think this is America” while driving on the left side of the road is all you need to know about their geoguessr skills
Earlier on, they also guessed America after seeing a sign that was very clearly not American (and again, they were on the wrong side of the road, but I forgive them for not thinking about that one since they were turned the other way). They even proceeded to talk about the number, when the fact that it was a speed limit sign didn't even occur to them. xD
At least I wasn't the only one saying "they're driving on the left" while they kept saying it was America.
Gotta love our boys... *Sigh*
A while back they came across one of the danish towns in USA, and completely missed the american flag in the middle of it all
Who knows? Maybe the google car was just being silly that day /s
"Oh Denmark! dot DE!" Dan says confidently.
Whoops.
I was shouting 🤣
*cries in danish*
@@valkhii Me too XD i was like nooooooo
I can't blame him, took me years to realize Germany is Deutschland lol
Poor Deutschlanders
Dan: "Oh oh oh, Texas! It's Texas! ....Wait no, is that Costa Rica?"
Great start to the episode, as usual.
19 million Chileans perished
I was screaming in Cerveza Cristal
To be fair, the Texas flag and the Chilean flag are *very* similar.
@@funtechu Yeah but the Texan flag is not even close to the Costa Rican flag lol
@@jeangonzalezhidalgo1815 Just a guess, but I think that was a slip of the tongue and he meant Puerto Rico, not Costa Rica
“this MIGHT be hawaii” *driving on the left side of the road*
I was shouting at my monitor at this part
LMAO
I also out-loud said "They're ON the LEFT!!"
Drunk Hawaiians?
@jaydoggy9043 we drive on the left and we are a u.s. territory
“Close…”, “It’s on Earth.” Priceless
Mexico City’s topiaries are everywhere. I appreciate them but knowing that they look cute to foreigners makes me appreciate them more!
And the switching of our flag to the Christmas lights killed me 😂 “Hey! It’s September! Independence Day!” *zooms in* “Ok, now it’s Christmas!”
That pink taxi was a dead CDMX giveaway
As a Minnesotan I’m proud to help the grumps get the dub
MN STRONG SKOLLLLL 💪
@@ghostphySKOL
I didn’t think I’d see some Minnesota love in this video, but here we are
I was just about to say the same thing!!
I knew exactly where it was on exactly what interstate because I used to make regular trips to Sioux Falls 🤣🤣😅
@@sarajerde8280 I thought it looked familiar!
I love that he looks at a sign saying "850m to Osaka, 350m to Himeji" concludes he is in Osaka, and then puts his marker on the side of Osaka furthest from Himeji, and is baffled when he loses. Like man all the information to figure it out was side by side
This might be an extraordinarily stupid question, but: how were they in Osaka already if the sign said they were 850m away?
As for putting it on the other side...dude, Arin and Dan are tackling a high-pressure game to play because of the time factor. Then you have to add in the fact that they need to keep a constant conversation between them, entertaining bits and stories included. If they were playing alone, without PVP or game timers thrown in, their guess(es) would be much more methodical.
@@rileylittleraven op meant Arin thought they were in Osaka but they weren't. Though, he got the distances backwards. You can hear him say '350 metres to Osaka', leading him to think it had to be in Osaka (because Osaka is so large)
Also it wasn't "850 meters to Osaka", it was 850m to the next entrance to the highway leading to Osaka, so clearly still outside of Osaka. I guess you would have to be able to read kanji to 100% get this, but it could also be kind of intuited because considering how large Osaka is, "850 meters and you're there" on a road sign is kind of ridiculous
Dan saw ".de" and said "Denmark"
I coulda swore the boys knew that .de is for Deutschland in the past.
implying they've ever shown an ability to remember things that might be useful
turns out people make mistakes and forget things.
weird.
I actually said, "nooo Daaaan" out loud like 1) he could hear me and 2) it matters 😂
Nobody is immune to brainfarts dude
they're evolving, just backwards
Reads a sign that says: "urban zone, proceed with caution" in Spanish,
pins it on malaysia
While moving away from town, lol
"THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES THAT AREN'T ANDORA"
- Arin Hanson
Well, was he wrong?
Always check the side of the road you're on! Big clue in English speaking countries.
Those trucks are definitely made for lumber, hence the grabby arm and "ribs" for safer transportation.
We drive on the left in the USVI. we also speak English, use the dollar and all that fun stuff. Font need a passport since it's a US territory
@@vincentg6613 I think you assume I'm American!
Everyone should have passport. Just in case.
The UK, NZ and Aus all drive on the left. Not sure about other areas like SA
Timber, not lumber.
@@Slapapow Sorry, I don't know the difference. Logs. Tree Trunks.
@@GreatWightSpark lumber is processed timber
As a german: you saying .de stands for denmark hurt my soul but also made me laugh really hard so I guess it evened out
I let out a Danny-like "Noooo!" when he said that lmao
i had a customer on the phone once request an interpreter and when i asked which language he said “deutsch” which to me sounded like dutch, so i got a dutch interpreter who corrected me……forgive us monolingual americans 😭
@@angelina1071 I shall forgive you for your horrible school system
I was just mindlessly scrolling through the comments looking for other Germans who were caught off-guard by this whole conversation and suddenly I see your comment and I'm like "Huh I know that pfp" lmaoooo man sieht sich immer zwei mal im Leben und ein mal davon in der gamegrumps comment section apparently
@@vanachu omg hi!!!! So funny to hear from you in the comments of a game grumps video xD
Hope you are doing well
I respect the boys for not "cheating" but you know for a fact that some of the people they go up against gotta be looking up any information they see on their phones.
Yeah, when the first Swiss guy got that close to Osaka, it just seemed a lil sus.
24:13 if I had a nickel for everytime the Grumps ended up in Minnesota while playing Geoguesser, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but weird that it's happened twice! (Said as a proud Minnesotan)
Please help me how to move there
@@KasaneVision Just do it! There's a ton of good sites to help you find a job, and finding housing can be a bit of a pain, but there's plenty of apartments to hold you over until you find a place you want to be forever.
"I think this is Hawaii!"
Love from Costa Rica! It was a pleasure to see the grumps fumbling all over my country when the actual answer wasn't even close😂
Same here, I was kinda excited just hearing the name despite knowing it definitely wasn’t here.
Just learned California uses kilometers and drives on the left side of the road! The more you know!
A genuine tip for Arin: PARE almost always means South America. There are a couple of countries that use ALTO on stop signs there, but on the whole, it divides between Central and South America. Mexico you’ll see both English and ALTO.
Interesting, what about Spain?
@@BlockheadJiujitsu I think they might just use Stop, but I could be wrong
@@haywoodjblome4768 you’re right, afaik.
Both of them screaming MINNESOTA with fear and excitement made my day honestly
Arin's "spray and pray" Hanson
God must truly love him for his prayers are always answered in this game.
'How did he know it was Bruges?' Meanwhile the only sign they saw said Brugge on the bottom 😂
Fun fact!
Vej is pronounced like "vye", roughly, and is in fact Danish for "Way", or in this case more accurately "Street".
Peter Wessel was an old Danish admiral and war hero with the byname "Thundershield". Which is a pretty sick byname.
I can see how "vej" and "way" are likely cognates.
It's because of this comment specifically that every time I land somewhere that says "vej", I know it's Denmark and get it right.
Two minutes into the video entitled "Arin's Blind Guesses Are Phenomenal": ANTARCTICA! ...It's Greenland.
Phenomenal.
That slapping sound you just heard is every single Danish Game Grumps fan face-palming in perfect unison as Dan loudly (and far too confidently) declared "Oh! Denmark! Dot-D-E!!"
(for reference, we use ".dk".)
More like every European. It's like that meme where the entire audience facepalms
Fellow Grumpers I see Esh!, very cool 😎🤙
"Looks American."
(Cars driving in left lane)
They literally looked down at the car and saw which way it was moving 😁
Nooooooo... Cars driving in BOTH lanes. 😂
@Centrifuze we drive on the left here and yeah... every day someones in my lane to try to avoid potholes. But we are a US territory!
The Saint Petersburg guess was nuts. As soon as I saw the street view, I was like "holy shit, is that my street??". It wasn't, but the vibe was 100% correct, idk how Arin did that
Not me yelling Sri Lanka to the screen after the truck they zoomed in on had the word Lanka on it
"where's Marbella!?" Arin says, camera standing right in front of the literal word that denotes the place of business.
LMAO when arin randomly gets it right has gotta be linked to when he gets pressured that his opponent knows where it is so he feels like he should too 😂 reminds me of when they play jeopardy and Dan says he knows what it is
😂😂As someone with ADHD, I think it's related to what you're saying for sure. He instinctually knows but the adhd brain likes to look at random shit and consider more until it's pressured to answer without thinking too much.
Or Wheel of Fortune
@@EJ4strings same here :P
For what it's worth, the truck at 15:01 carries cut trees/lumber. The claw/crane loads and unloads the wood right in and out of the truck. Granted my only experience is from Farming Simulator, but that's exactly what they looked like
Imagine watching one of these episodes and seeing your house 🤣
right?! i was thinking this while watching this guy called Rainbolt play geoguessr, he is able to find the original location of captcha photos in MINUTES 🤯 its insane how good people can be at this game. dude could find your exact location from ONE photo!
The one where they guessed hawaii was on st john usvi. Ive gone to hawks nest beach a lot. So let down😢😂
At one point in this episode, I thought I did, but that was on the other side of the city, actually
At one point in one of the previous episodes, they were in a Chinese resteraunt in California that was in the town I grew up! It was wild to see!
What's crazy is I actually did see the town where most of my family is from (Lafayette, GA in one of the earlier episodes) and I flipped out because I recognized it immediately lmao
"poor guy got compressed" got me rollin
The one close to Gothenburg is like 10 minutes from where I grew up. What a weird feeling.
Knowing where they are while they get lost is like slow death....and ill watch every time.
"They use Kilometers wherever we are!" Meanwhile, in almost every country on the planet...
Best country in Chile represented. Flag once again mistaken for Texas. Yeehaw what a day.
We were mistaken for Hawaii in the usvi. We drive on the left here.
Halo-halo is a filipino desert, shaved ice evaporated milk, or coconut milk and a variety of ingredients such as “Ube” jam, sweetened kidney beans, garbonzo beans, coconut strips, and sago gulaman. The name translates to mix mix lol
*Dessert
My god that sounds delicious - the board didn’t quite do it justice

Cars: Driving on left hand side
Arin: LOOKS PRETTY AMERICAN TO ME
"Click the link in the description berlow"
Don't think I didn't catch that, Avidan
I'm not great with Spanish, but I assume Zona Urbana means City Limit... Which probably means you should go in that direction because you're likely to encounter more signs, not that they had much time to do that.
The fact he saw Spanish and went to guess the Philippines
Yeah, it most literally translates to "Urban Zone". Granted, I don't know how that term is used in Spanish speaking countries, but that's a separate issue.
Obviously driving on left side of the road. "MUST BE THE US"
Dude I was thinking the same and it was driving me mad! 😂😂😂
@Cityboibru IT WAS THE US!!! we are a territory! Hence US virgin islands! And we drive on the left!
@@vincentg6613 I thought it was British virgin islands. But that's good to know! I was wrong!
I love episodes where Arin is like, "Hola? That means 'Hello'. They must be in the Dominican Republic!" As if his logic is sensical and foolproof.
"Home Depot? Gotta be Mexico."
"Zona urbana? Can't be Latin America, must be Indonesia!"
@@DrakonIL to be fair they weren't wrong
@@DrakonIL that's actually a fairly well-known tip for guessing Mexico, they have a lot more American chains than the rest of Latin America
Never ever stop playing this, it's almost replacing FireRed as my go-to Grumps playlist.
Seeing how accurate EVERYONE they go against is, I'm almost certain most players just cheat
totally
people who play this, especially people who -still- play this, are just really good. This is like one of those "I wish they put an average person in every olympic event, so you can see how good the athletes are by comparison". check out a video from someone like rainbolt to get some idea of what's happening here.
geoguessr really doesnt take all that long to learn, there's some really easy-to-find hints in every place that at least lets you get close if you've spent a few hours learning tips
Or these guys say "it's the German language here, must be DENMARK..."
I guess the guys they play against don't have it that hard.
@@Grodstark I don't buy it. what are the chances of finding a Poland player that knows the location of a street in Rosario Argentina.
dan knows it because of a football player from there, but a guy from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD, that speaks a language totally different?
sure pal...
Wonder how many takes it took for Dan to say "BigMilkers321" without breaking lol, he barely made it through this one. Also I love that they cut the segment right when you can tell he's about to fully laugh 😂
Finally my country of Chile appears here!
Just in time for lunch!
Same! What’re you having?
Lunch? I only eat dinner. lunch and breakfast are too expensive
YEAH MAC AND CHEESE
It's only 10 am for me. Usually I'm still asleep but woke up early by accident and was trying to get back to sleep lol. I don't have breakfast until closer to 1 pm with how my schedule is🤣
Eating lunch myself, it's noon when this was released.
Minnesotan here, you are welcome for your win. 😊
First time I've actually seen MN come up in a geoguesser game lol
They did another GeoGuesser game where St. Cloud, Minnesota was the answer. Of course, the boys were no where close to it with their guess. Lol!
“Zona Urbana”
Guesses somewhere in Malaysia
Love Arin seeing a sign that says "zona urbana" and bolting down the road in the opposite direction in search of urban areas
GameGrumps Lunch Break Chronicles, Day 129:
I’m seeing TWRP tomorrow! I’m having pizza rolls to celebrate. 15/10.
I was gonna have lunch. My cat is sleeping on my pizza box.
yooo!!! i got to see them when they came to Atlanta, fuckin awesome show. have fun!!!
who?
The fact that they they were driving on the left side of the road and never noticed is crazy
But... we do drive on the left side.... and we are a u.s. territory....
I like how Arin knew the language was cerilic and dan says Japan
At least he got ukraine right😅
....kinda... I think he picked Belarus
Danny's timing and delivery of that joke caught me off guard so bad I nearly spit popcorn all over my screen lmao
"We're gonna DESTROY this Canadian" ...famous last words
As a Minnesotan when I saw the pipestone sign I was like “oh my god I know exactly where that is” happy we won it for you that round!!
0:46 "...or click the link in the description BURLOW" I can't
just in time for my hourly gooning sesh!
All I see is “just in time for lunch!” “Just in time for work!” and this, which is the funniest combination
COMMENCE THE GOONING
“Denmark! Dot D-E!” I almost screamed. It’s Deutschland, Dan! Germany! 😂
You're welcome from Minnesota
Ayyy just in time for me to work some overtime!
while I will say they waste a lot of time in one place, I'm suspicious about the accuracy of these players as well.
like 22:05. no way the other player from POLAND would have guessed Rosario - Argentina
prob a pro played an alt account
I mean Arin and Dan got it in Argentina as well
@@jjunior48 i refuse to believe there are professional Geoguessers.
@@miguelnewmexico8641I hate to be a "well acktually" girl but technically Arin and Dan are professional geoguessers as long as these videos make ad revenue lol

I think I speak for everyone when I say we need more geogrumps! Love you beautiful boys.
The vultures picked those trucks clean!
Dan looking more and more like Weird Al
Me, in Minnesota and kinda half-listening to this in the background while I'm doing other stuff till the last 6 or so minutes: oh hey neat
as a swede i recognise right away the place at around 8:42 those are swedish signs the yellow sign is translated to the citys chalet in english and the middle is the name of a place called silveringen which is easy translated to the silvering, the third one and last that is not censured translates to memory stone, also sweden again at 25:53, the sign says pretty rougly translated beware of our children drive slowly
"Minnesota? Wild" was all I could think when the state came in clutch. It's a great song btw
They keep losing because they’re not cheating. They’re opponents probably are.
I guess if they found some text that used roman numerals, you could type it into google translate and figure out what language it is. Other than that, it would be hard to quickly cheat on this game.
There is nothing that makes me prouder to me a Minnesotan than helping the boys win geoguesser
"They've got a Home Depot. Feels like it must be Mexico." xD
27:55 they got a Home Depot. This has got to be Mexico right? 😂 😂
oh? elucidate.
I can’t believe they thought it was Hawaii when they were driving on the left side of the road

I love their GeoGuessr episodes sooooo much, I get legit excited when there's an upload.
IM AT LUNCH RN BUT IM SO EXITED TO WATCH THIS!!!!!!
You're leaving a place to watch this?
Those trucks with the weird ribcage-looking backs are logging transport trucks. The 'ribs' are there to make sure the load doesnt shift and cause a Final Destination moment.
I shook my fist in celebration for a good 15 seconds when y'all won your first match. Hoping for more Geoguessr content, it's one of my family's favorite games :)
Gotta love my grumpy guys
The sheer confidence while claiming Denmark after seeing ".de" is hilarious.
I'm glad it was Minnesota that gave you the win
i like playing along while i watch these and evidently im good at figuring out where the general area is just based on vibes
The irony in that I'm playing this game while the video is on in the background XD And now I truly feel the pain whenever there's obvious signs of the location that Arin ignores too.
"Oh! Dot DE! Denmark!"
I think Dan forgot what language they speak in "DEutschland".
It'd be funny if during one of these games they get a location that's like right outside their own house or offices and end up doxxing themselves lmao
They would probably edit it out, lol. Hope it never happens on stream

It is remarkable how knowledgeable they are about Japan and the US, and how deeply ignorant they are about anywhere else
4:18 - Is it just me or did they blur out the dog’s face on the right lmao
24:15 My dad is from Pipestone so seeing that my husband and I yelled Minnesota same time as you! Was crazy!
Put shipping containers on the logging truck😂
