I do not agree with the result of this comparison of races(!!), I could talk for a long time and explain where both breeds come from and where the differences between them came from (I will be happy to explain to those interested in prive); I am the proud owner of both breeds, I love both my dogs, but because of their outstanding intelligence, incredible courage and the so-called 'will to please', the Belgian Malinois beats Dutch Shepherds!!!
I like both of these dogs. My dog is a Dutch Shepherd Australian Kelpie cross. He is jet black with the lower half of his legs tan brindle. He is very smart and fun to be with.
So much misinformation in these comments. The difference between a Belgian Malinois from good working lines and a Dutch Shepherd from good working lines is so slight they’re basically the same dog.
I'm in my 50's have owned and trained gsd my whole life, my first mal was a whole new level!, definitely not a first time dog or a dog for an owner not able to invest the time and money to properly train and socialize this dog early, and honestly for its lifetime.
@@TheMtnbikr61 Have you ever had a working line GSD from East Germany or Czech lines..? If yes, how different are the working line Shepherds from Malinois..?

Not worth getting unless you know what you’re doing and even still you should use a trainer. Lots of time to work the dog and maintain a schedule. 98% of Normal people should not get one.
I understand that the Malinois is generally too high energy for a normal private person or household. They are excellent as working dogs for professionals like police or military. How about the Dutch shepherd? Too high energy as well?

There both tenacious dogs when they want to be super high energy
It’s an individual dog thing. I’ve taken bites from different breeds while training. I’ve had certain pits bite harder than certain Dutch shepherd. I’ve had other breeds bite harder that ditch shepherds. Hardest biting dog I’ve come across was a Presa or Bandog. It was those individual dogs though. I wouldn’t say they’re the hardest biting across the board. Definitely harder than any ditch shepherd I’ve come across
I own a 1yo male malinois. He is a good working dog, and very territorial. Anyone in front door not known before is going to get a good barking.... Can never stay still, easily get bored, always on alert. Used to have an european doberman, but from showdog breed type, so he is not as fierceful as my malinois. Easily trained.... by me... even though im not a professional trainer. I learnt most of the tricks from youtube video.
Should be equal as Mals have a higher drive and athletics. And yes Dutchies are a little better around kids & family. They are both TOP 3 dogs however!
Point where malinois should get are both but for agressivness malinois loose point, better guard dog malinois IS better first no point for dutch and bite training malinois is also better...
No they are different breeds,I seen some people who have mixed Dutch shepherds with mals and they are high maintenance dogs alot of police and military programs will purposely breed them like that for thier Line of work they are so beautiful but alot of dog in that tiny 8 week old puppy
My 8 week old Dutch doesn't differentiate between adults and groups of noisy kids. He just sees hands for petting 😂
Got a Dutch shepherd she's great so protective of the children even tucks them in at night but the most stubborn thing I've ever known.
Yes mine also. 😮

Me to, but if I can choose only one, I choose Malinois. I like GSD too.
i have a dutch shepard she is an adorable darling of a dog🙂
My Dutchie is too protective she doesn’t even want others in my house🙀 but I love her anyway. 🥰
I have 2 German shepherds and a Dutch shepherd. I love them so much. 🥰
Thanks for the upload. Great video. 👍
I disagree about what you said regarding malinois and children , mine are perfect gents with children and any animal babies too,
Well since you disagree it must be true
Not for me, 1. Malinois, 2. Dutch.

Goodday. I am from The Netherlands. And a Dutch Sheperd is NO Belgian Malinois. They are really different. For protection go for the Dutch.
Hi mate, how about for an all round family pet? Would you have to worry this dog might bite someone of you were at the dog park or something?
@@Tugz301 I have a Dutch, and it’s really sweet. Dogs can sense if the person trying 2 hurt the master
Why take your dog to a dog park if you think they might bite .

Malinois gang here
Ayeee Dutchie gang!!!

would a dutch shepherd be too much for a first time dog owner? how much more time and experience is required compared to the german shepherd?

Dutch shepards bite harder than the Malinois ... But they are still both excellent dogs

Saying a different breed of dog bites harder then another is like saying people of a different race hit harder it all depends on the dog
