Well, try to replace Adam Silver as the Comissioner of the NBA then if some of their rules about drafting European pro players don't please you, then force US sports medias to not use the word "rookie" when talking about European players who have a pro basketball background.

Yup, European players are *NBA rookies* (I never wrote "pro basketball rookies") because they're playing their first NBA season. What I'm repeating since my first comment is the US media oversimplify it as just "rookie" just like they oversimplify many more important informations : they consider their target audience to have the attention span of a goldfish so they consider they should treat them as goldfish.
If you are so irritated by this situation I will repeat my previous advice : replace Adam Silver and establish new rookie rules according to your own taste.
