@@procoding_ninjathwyre both fine. I've owned a 2010 X5 bullet proof for 6 years. And range rover 2016 for 5 years and no issues. The rover is heaver and softer ride. X5 X7 impressive handling and speed. I did have a 2023 X7 but for six monthss it was OK

Compared to the 7 Series, they quite nailed the design on this car. That big grill looks good and it's proportional with the size of the car, and the split headlight are stylish. I'm not an SUV fan, but this car is to my likings. Design wise, both interior and exterior, I would still go with the new Range Rover, that is something special.

When I think of Range Rover. I think it’s like buying a Television that can do everything and anything better than a Samung or LG product. But then after a month one by one you have issues with feature after feature not working. I’d pay for quality over sleek and pretty any day of the week. Especially when shopping anything over 100k.
Do I like the RR styling better yep. But just last month I picked up my neighbor less than two miles from our home because his 2021 RR was stopped in the middle of a three lane road. Just randomly shut off smh.

hahahahha... some deluded BMW designer thought moving the climate controls from physical buttons onto small icons on a touch panel was a good idea. Hard to imagine how many people agreed that was a good idea in the design meetings. I wonder what the convincing argument was - reduced cost in a 100,000 Euro car?

    • @TL-xw6fh

It's all about cost cutting. That is why Tesla removed all physical buttons and even the glovebox handle. I sat in the 2024 MY Tesla 3 and just could not believe how sparse it is. Not a button in sight, and no steering column stalks too. Tried all the controls for about 20 mins and gave up. It's build quality is about the standards of a Ford Cortina too.

No doubt the X7 is a competent car in almost ever area but the looks are a deal breaker for me. I don't choose cars based solely on whether they are the best, but more on a mix of criteria of which most importantly is, how I feel about the car and its looks. That's something I can't get past with the X7 - it just looks monstrous to my eyes. I would happily trade a little ability for the comparative elegance and restraint of the Range Rover, which is still by any measure a very good car but also, to my eyes at least, one that also looks nice. Great review btw 😁.

This may be good but it’s just… boring. Styling is meh and reliability is a bit better but I’d rather have the Range Rover. When you drive an X7, you feel like you’re driving any other large SUV. But in the Range Rover, the commanding driving position and steering makes it feel very different. Plus, some of us drive vehicles or brands because we enjoy the history of the product as well. The X7 is just another up market SUV that BMW created to have a piece of that market share pie. Not to mention, BMW owned Land Rover for a bit of time way back

BMW s are very very expensive to keep on road. Very easy to break even if taken care of. Small stuff like door actuators, some window motors or door/trunk locks break and you end up spending multiple hundreds for very very small stuff. You go Japanese and nothing breaks for 15+ years. I think Germans need to learn manufacturing from Japanese and then start engineering German cars. The ‘desirable’ German quality is just not there.

Bland design especially the ugly exterior! You’d think for the price of this car you’d get a proper dashboard not a stuck on ugly dust trap,a cost saving but not for buyer! This more of a sales pitch than a review!

What’s the fascination with carrying large bottles of water, we don’t live in the desert. If you can’t go an hour or so without drinking I’m afraid you are probably dehydrated to begin with

Great car but that 2nd row is pathetic at that price point. I bought a GLS63. Heat/ventilated and massaging 2nd row seats. As well as being much better looking.

Is it just a coincidence, that more and more, BMW are going with grilles that resemble a certain moustache of a certain German chancellor?

Compared to the hideous grille on the new GLS (looks like a transplant from a Toyota Hilux), the X7's looks positively restrained.

Yes It is better than a Range Rover we admit it. But it doesn't look like range rover 😂 . Even harrier or Safari ❤looks faar more better than X7😅

The headlights design are just odd man 🤮. Hope they don't adapt this to m2, m3, m4s in the next 2 years. (I'm saving $ for one of those). Nevertheless, it should still be one of the best big cars for rich people out there.

The reason the X7 is popular in the US is because 3 row midsize SUVs are popular not because Americans love beaver tooth front ends. It sells despite the grille not because of it.

In Europe this would definitely not be considered "mid size". Then again we don't have that many Escalades.

What's wrong with BMW not updating the exterior of their cars/SUVs. Not a fan, kind of disappointed. They need to fo better.

But it's just not better than a Range Rover. The Range River wins hands down on style and "cred" so no matter if the rather vulgar X7 is technically superior. It loses every time it counts, how it makes you feel, and how it makes the people admiring the Range Rover in a country pub carpark whilst they completely miss the X7

Range Rover is infamous for breaking down and having poor security. Their biggest problem though is, they are way too common in the UK.

The new 2025 Infiniti QX80 destroys this BMW X7! It's much more impressive inside and out, along with more power output with 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It's the newest large full-size SUV on the market that has put everyone else on notice and undercuts much of the competition.

You very briefly glossed over the major point “it isn’t as good off road as a Range Rover”. Considering that is the key point of an SUV, otherwise buy a big comfortable sports saloon which will perform better on road, it seems to me that the Range Rover is still top of the SUV pile for its all round ability + if you turn up at a country sports event you won’t look like a drug dealer as you would in the BMW.
