The most expensive bottle i have bought was Glen Scotia 25. I bought it for my 25th birthday. It costs 500 euros now but when i bought it it was 300 and i got it for 250. Expensive but it was truly amazing.
Thank you for the video. I really enjoy a good Irish Whiskey. I have a Bushmill 16, and have tried the Redbreast 21, which was so fruity. To bad they are so expensive. My most expensive bottle is a rum, Ron del Barrilito 5 Stars
Most expensive, if you don't count shipping costs, but I got Signet around 170 bucks in 2021. Since then I got Bardstown Founders Cask and a single barrel Kilchoman (Fred Minnick pick) around the same price. Plus or minus 10 from there. I can't remember. Otherwise I rarely spend or have spent over 100 on a bottle.
I’m jealous, could only dream of buying the 30-year-old. The most expensive bottle I’ve ever bought was at a silent auction for charity, Amorik 14yr for AU$400 but it did come with a Glen cairn glass
Hi Bill, I am SO excited I got to see this review today! I'm actually invited to the launch event for these bottlings in Nuremberg, Germany tomorrow and am really looking forward to it. Master Blender Alex Thomas will be there, too, so hopefully there will be lots to learn 🤗 Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed it 💐
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary Thanks alot! I'm really looking forward to meeting her and try those bottlings. Have you ever been to a whisky fair? Somehow I doubt they're as common in the States as they are over here. 🤔
Right around 12:33 you get to watch a man fall in love. Bill: "I'm sorry, honey, I have to leave you, I've found someone else." Bill's wife: "What?! But...who?!" Bill: "Bushmill's 30 year-old."
I don't fully know how I should honestly feel about those prices. There is a store near me that buys their own barrel picks from Scotland every year and I can expect NAS~30yr age statements from them for between $40 to $400 bucks. Having that knowledge and expectation... I have to think that Bushmill's is looking at the hype/FOMO portion of the current whiskey buying public with $$$$ in their eyes. The older whisky gets, the more expensive they get but the price accelerates WAAAY faster than the age statement. That truism has gone into hyperdrive in the last couple years.
I must say, too many peeps are transfixed on whisk(e)ys - as drinks ; I say, explore - for the same price range, one can get a 50yo COgnac or Armagnac, or a 50 yo RUM (El Dorad, Appleton... you will NEVER come back! )
Most expensive whiskey I ever bought was prob red breast 12 (I am poor 😢) but the absolute most expensive spirit I bought was plantation xo rum for 76 dollars I think. Not a hobby for the cheaply minded
hah, sorry if it wasn't clear. Those are sample bottles. They typically come in small amounts so they can send more of them out without shipping full bottles of whiskey
@@raftonpounder6696 funny story. My wife bought me 21yo for my 50th birthday 4 years ago as well 😅 still have dram or two in the bottle. To be honest i expected more after delicious 16yo( my faviurite). This 16yo i have bought on tour u 2010 for £43. It was w time. Nothing to compare with todays bottlings. Hope you enjoyed these two. 😁🥂🙋🏻♂️
To many whiskeys are becoming to expensive for the average person to try because a purchase of a bottle is way over priced. Looking for alternatives and drinking less because of the price increases. Both of these are over priced and because of this out of the reach of most of your viewers
So excited that I got to try these whiskies and very happy to share them with all of you!

I have the Johnnie Walker Blue Ghost and Rare Pytivach. It was 279. I also have the Middleton Very Rare that was the same price. Very good whiskies.
the most expensive bottle I bought was the Bushmills 28 years old Malaga in 2020. Awesome stuff!!
Wow I bet it was great
The black box is awesome. Cheers
Wow Bill - How lucky can you be! They both sound Amazing-Thanks for the video ✨🥃✨
So cool you got to try these! Wish I had so much money I didn't care how much old whiskey costs...lol
Totally agree. Me too!
This is amazing Bill. So excited to see your thoughts on these. Cheers

That Signet is magical
The most expensive Irish whiskey I have purchased is Redbreast 27 Yr (Batch 2), which is absolutely phenomenal!

That sounds like so much fun!!! Have a great time! I met Alex a while back, fun girl

I just realized it's not who I thought it was! Oops.
Yup! Whiskey events here are often held by larger liquor stores
My most expensive is Redbreast 12 cask strength for £80 ish. Second most is the few bottles of Laphroaig 10 cask strength for £70-£75
Drank? Some form of Pappy and a Blood Oath. Purchased? Knob Creek SIngle Barrel Pittsburgh Whiskey Friends pick.
Most expensive bottle I’ve bought was Highwest The Prisoner’s share $175 (I got 2) most expensive I’ve tried was Pappy 21.
Most expensive I've ever purchased: Joseph Magnus for $99. Second most expensive: Old Particular Caol Ila 7 for $79.
Joseph Magnus is a really good whiskey! I haven't had the Old Particular Caol Ila 7.
105 plus tax for Remus Repeal V and it was the best whiskey that I have tried or owned.

Thats why I had such a hard time straight recommending either of these. How does one recommend a whiskey worth over two grand?

Good for you to get this generous gift from Bushmills. I think will pay my mortgage this month instead of splurging on these ultra high end whiskies.
Hah! Wise move
Most expensive whiskey I ever bought was prob red breast 12 (I am poor 😢) but the absolute most expensive spirit I bought was plantation xo rum for 76 dollars I think. Not a hobby for the cheaply minded
Most expensive was a tale of cake by Glenmorangie
Tasted an 18k
34k for me
Those are really tiny bottles for that price too. $2,200 is probably more than I am going to spend on alcohol for the rest of my life.
hah, sorry if it wasn't clear. Those are sample bottles. They typically come in small amounts so they can send more of them out without shipping full bottles of whiskey
Have yet to spend more than $80 on a bottle
Pity I’ll never taste them. Too steep for my wallet unfortunately.
Too steep for mine, too!
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary my son bought me the 21 for my 50th four years ago. Great stuff. I have done the Bushmills tour as well. Great spot.

Absolutely true. They offered them to me to try. Wasn't gonna say no 😀
