@@kaidene573 While there are a lot of people voicing disillusionment with P5 spin-offs, I think Tactica would be getting more attention if the story took place AFTER Persona 5 Strikers. The fact that it is set during the events on Persona 5 makes it seem inessential which is fatal to a game that is all about story & social simulation. Similarly, I think P5 Dancing should have set its story AFTER P5 as well (how hard would it have been to write that it was taking place while Joker was being driven back home?). I don’t get why Atlus is doing this when P4 Dancing and Arena got to take place after Persona 4

Yall are overexaggerating atlus has done this with 3 and 4 too . They had a successful game , normally theyre gonna capitalize on it . Fans just hate on the "current" game / whatever's popular . I'm enjoying this game so far
Fair… given I’m not even sure if people are over exaggerating, because in reality this is our fifth persona forth spinoff (Dancing, Strikers, X, Tactica) I don’t mind at all, though I love the cast of these games, so bored ventures was really any of them is up my alley
I think a lot of it is also, everyone’s tired of P5. P5 got released in 2017, and has seen three spin offs by now. Rveryone’s new focus is P3R since it’s the “new persona game”. So more people are gonna want to play that than another P5 game

@@christophercramp17 I think the main problem is that Atlus didn't address/acknowledge the continuity sooner/faster, though it's apparent they are working on it through newer projects. For now, their hands are full with Reload and Re;Fantazio, which will delay it further. COVID even delayed many of their projects, which resulted in the Persona 25th anniversary disappointment, as they can't change planned collaborations with merchandise, locations and food brands instantly. At least P5X acknowledged the spin offs to some extent, as recent CN online forum community events celebrate Tactica release, and have Royal/Tactica giveaway to winners. As Phantom X was confirmed for Japan localization and servers, plus the acknowledgement of the spin off follow up narratives, it can be assumed future updates will feature the elements and characters from the spin offs.
Me who's been playing it since the game came out and has been obsessing over it for months since I saw it was coming to Game Pass and has nearly 100% completed it achievements and all in that time...
I literally sat up to play it on launch and am currently on my 2nd playthrough on Merciless (first play only with the boys, second with the girls, excluding lock levels). Persona/SMT and Fire Emblem are my favourite series of all time, so this merge of grid base tactics and ultra cute P5 characters and story was in my top 3 most wanted games this year behind FE:Engage and Alan Wake 2.

My biggest reason for not picking up most newer games atm is simply because of Black Friday month. Yes I call it month because sales don't just happen once, they are basically there from the start to finish. So yeah I could spend $60-70 on a new title that just came out, or wait and see. Sometimes a new title can drop drastically in price. Like I think I picked up a ps5 copy of Sonic Frontiers last Black Friday month for $30 and that was a november release title. Even just recently there was a buy 2 get 1 free sale from Amazon as well. And that's just talking gaming. For those that still collect Bluray/4k's it's a big month of sales. As well as just standard christmas gifts, and other essentials.

I’m really early in game and got a Diamond achievement on Xbox for using Joker’s curse skills 20 times. To those not on Xbox, diamond achievements are ones you get that less than 5% off players get. People bought the game and haven’t been playing much apparently. Strange since it’s well-made.
Small correction: Metahor is not a Megaten game. It's a completely new IP that has nothing to do with SMT. Though... it seems like it would be heavily based on Persona gameplay-wise and they P3-P5 team working on it.
Well it's more P5... and people want to move tf on from P5 at this point. Thankfully, it's on Game Pass so I can try it on PC without speding $60, but the price is still an issue for a lot of other potential players.
Cause it's a niche game in a niche genre. Strikers at least was an action game, everyone likes it. This is in the same vein as those dungeon crawler games, it's the spinoffiest of a spinoff game.
In all fairness, P5 art isn’t cheap as it is because the game has been out for years and hasn’t just released given. Both are an Xbox game pass, which is apparently really cheap. And I never think visuals are somethings. That should make a game worth more or less to me it really is about how fun games to play how well the story is written graphics are one of the last things that really matters for my enjoyment of a game don’t care I had rather game of gorgeous then be a bunch of squares, but it’s not an end all be all

Honestly, I have a hell of a backlog right now, but it seems(?) to be another P5 spin off that doesn't follow the Royal events (at least Yoshizawa is DLC... but still). At this point if a P5 game isn't following up after Royal, my interest is considerably dampened because Royal is legitimately the height of the series.
Fair the reason that Royal is ignored is so that if you didn’t play it it can still work as a sequel but at this point you have to go out of your way to play a version of P5 on a console that’s 2 generations old now instead of a console you probably have plugged in so at this point it’s kinda dumb. Also I agree royal is amazing
@@AlexKlindt knowing Atlus pattern, all will be addressed through another spin off continuation story game, the same thing happens in Arena Ultimax and Dancing all night. For now Atlus was delayed in that aspect due to COVID, their other IPs, and platform deals. It can be assumed Tactica was meant to be announced during the 25th anniversary, but COVID and their other IPs, plus not wanting to repeat the mistake of too early reveals held it off
You're right about tactica, I was indifferent about this game until it actually came out. The day one DLC announcement did not help either. There's so many other games that I'm waiting for that there was no space for this game on my priority list. I'm only playing it because I got it on game pass for $1

I completely forgot it was coming out. But now that I've seen it I'm interested, especially since I enjoyed Mario + Rabbids, and the game reminds me of that. Also about Phantom Thief fatigue, people were feeling the same towards Persona 4. I mean sure Persona 3 had a remake with an epilogue and extra content and a "play as a female MC" version, but it wasn't *oversaturated* until Persona 4 and Golden started. Then came Arena, Ultimax, the dance games, Q, the animations. Atlus didn't seem to know quite how to capitalize on Persona 3 at first, but once Persona 4 came along it became the "milk the cow" model.
Yeah Atlus loves to milk P5 (and when that was the bestselling entry P4) Also yeah from what I’ve played if it’s basically Mario + Rabbids with a persona coat of paint
If Persona 5 Tactica chronologically took place after Persona 5 Strikers, I would be way more compelled to check it out. But since it takes place within Persona 5 … I just don’t care & there are other games to play. I would play another Persona 5 game though. I’m not one of those people who won’t be happy until Persona 6 comes out, but this isn’t doesn’t look like the Persona 5 game I want

I have already played a massive game expansion of the original Persona 5 storyline where I watched the characters go on extra adventures inside that time frame. Why would I have any interest in another full game taking place inside that story? Maybe the concern is the fact that the cast has separated. But if the premise is just going to be “the characters get zapped to an alternate reality” why does that matter? Joker could get zapped into the metaverse from his hometown, and the other characters can have the same thing happen to them from wherever they are. And the story can feel more meaningful as the characters won’t be in stasis from a previous story arc
I don't like playing games with Chibi art style. I think they were ok back then when consoles weren't powerfull enough and couldn't make goog looking 3D models and went for a chibi but either way some people really like this style. Already downloaded the game to play it on my Xbox Series X from Gamepass but feels like a chore to try it and I have been focusing my attention on Super Mario RPG.

And we will use Persona Q magic, it still doesn't resolve the problem of one of the P2 characters knowing P1 character. I have no idea how to incorporate them into any kind of story. I guess you can go P3/P5 Dancing route which just snippets of conversations between characters but... People are not really fans of those games.
