for half double crochet, if you want to end the round. slip stitch into the last stitch and just chain one to start the next row. I would put a stitch marker in the first stitch of every round to make sure you connect to the stitch and not the chain if you are first starting out or have trouble reading the different parts of a stitch. :D

When you crochet in the round, your stitches shift. If you skip to minute 6:45 you'll see where the starting tail is in relation to the stitch marker. It's actually a big difference! Using a stitch marker helps me visually, so I don't have to count my stitches (makes projects more mindless). Not necessary though if you don't find it useful! Happy crocheting to you!

I get a lot of questions about this stitch marker. When you crochet in the round, your stitches shift. If you skip to minute 6:45 you'll see where the starting tail is in relation to the stitch marker. It's actually a big difference!
Using a stitch marker helps me visually, so I don't have to count my stitches (makes projects more mindless) and so that I know where the round actually ends. Its a tip I like to use, so wanted to share it. Not necessary though if you don't find it useful! Happy crocheting to you!
