I hate when people unknowingly bring up the what-ifs. Out of sight, out of mind. Sometimes, it's better not suggesting possible outcomes. All was well until that possibility popped up. I have thought of breeding bunnies myself, so I wondered why you guys stopped. So sorry to hear about your beloved babies. I wonder if it was something in the feed that caused it to be so widespread?

That's quite a journey, and not a nice ending at all. For me, I love rabbits, tried keeping a couple as a kid but that didn't work out. As a farm or homestead animal, I don't want them though. There are too many unwanted animals that need homes to sell rabbits for any kind of return, and it's one of the ones I wouldn't be willing to raise for meat. I'm not against hunting some of the big jacks we have here, I know it's good meat, it's my own mental and emotional connection to them as pets that just keeps me from wanting them.
So sad.....
