18 from canada , i’ve always been mediocre cause i never truly worked hard, but this summer made me realize that i can acc make it to college it’s all about work , been grinding all summer long and i can see that i’ve been getting really good
I’m from Michigan 16, I wanna play College basketball ever since I was little and I grind basketball whenever I can and I played with my moms bf and his 4 friends on a 3v3 I locked them down with my defense and they play EVERYDAY
This was really good advice. You can be a good player but if you’re not in the right position, ex coach doesn’t like you, toxic teammates, bad rep etc. it makes things a million times harder to succeed. If you’re serious about basketball you have to capitalize on it. You open the success window when you do the right things like in this video.
Coach when I get to gym should I focus on shooting mechanics and skill development or just playing basketball and doing skill development on the side I’m confused
@@tjltrainingthank you for the response, my brother is going to Wisconsin to play in the St John’s northwestern academy as a junior, and since I am a freshman, I would join him next year as I want to prepare myself for the year
Thanks coach for the advice But hwo should I make My Basketball workouts Like if Im trying to get good At shooting defense, Playmaking how should I know What workouts To do should i copy from your Workouts by any means basketball workouts, vision driven, etc what should I do
I'm not a coach, a college player, or a pro player, but I know as a general rule for building drills and workouts centered around skill, my coaches and many coaches on social media emphasize doing drills and workouts that incorporate a game setting or drills that push you to your limit and cause you to make mistakes. For Example: ball handling drills that incorporate change of pace, different speeds and power of dribbling, but at the same time, you regularly mess up. Another example is shooting drills that focus on knowing when to shoot or drive, or shooting while in movement or exhausted. Overall you want workouts that would happen in a game setting and or workouts that challenge you.
You need to have an overall plan and know specifically what to work on and then based on that find the best drills that challenge you and train in a game like manner
For shooting, start close to the basket, gradually work your way to the outside, and focus on your mental rhythm, and getting it off quickly in game-like situations. Playing pickup should help you with your defense and playmaking, but think strategically about what you're trying to do on offense and defense when playing pickup to work on those things. For defense, you need to work on your lateral quickness, holding your stance for a long period of time, and to understand the fundamentals of defense (e.g., don't let your man drive middle, jump to the ball and deny the man when your man passes it, getting through screens, help defense, etc.). I hope that helps.
im going into 7th grade and tryouts are in December idk what workout sto do and everything is js so confusing I was wondering if you could make a free shooting workout that can help me?
