The armor needs to reduce damage before the multiplier for the headshot takes effect, instead of the other way around, that would help the helmets be useful. But in that fight in particular you shot him straight in the face, which is never part of the area of protection for a helmet anyway... helmets are more effective at protecting when you are caught off guard from the side or behind. They do next to thing once you face your opponent & expose your face & neck, which both give the damage bonus. This situation also exemplifies the shorter distance fights in video games which make aiming for the face much easier. Saying the helmet is useless when you avoided hitting it, isn't very accurate. Also, the helmet WILL save your life from puppet attacks on any server with higher than normal puppet damage.
All helmets have the same hitbox protection all around the head, from the K6 to Medieval, so even if you see that the combat/military has no faceguard, there's still a hidden protection. Same applies for vest hitboxes, bulletproof vests have the same hitbox as the armor tactical. Every single helmet offers the same protection except the K6 which is slightly more effective by around 5%. It's been tested over and over by me and my squad mates on the test server we play on. Every single firearm is deadly below 20 meters, past that point, weapons receive a damage falloff. An mp5/ump45 will one shot you below 20 meters, but past 20 meters you will receive around 30 headshot damage with a K6 helm ( kind of stupid mechanic I know ). What happened in the video is that the guy got shot in the neck ( helmet and armor were pristine), there's a tiny little gap between the vest and helmet hitbox.
@BladeWaltz This is flat out untrue, tested & proven by Luthais. So yea, just fyi. The tactical especially has a larger area of protection.

Recently head shot a player with no helmet with the AWM rifle. he slumped down but I didnt get notification "you killed..x" Dos this mean he was in coma? I didnt shoot again as was immediately focused on his buddy, but in the end I had to bail as they were at their car, the buddy looked the body from behind cover into the car. I was changing positions to get a shot and the orange had already returned. couldnt get clear shot and the got in Armored car and left.
He should be definitely dead!🤯 I never saw someone in coma.. maybe is disabled on the servers that I'm playing (they have that option).. or maybe you are playing on a server with default settings and when you kill someone you don't get the notification (I like it because is more realistic)
