I love the fairy flying around. 1982 the first year without points (over here anyway) I think the 80's was the best decade for lawn equipment. OK over here the classics take 500 ml.. Enjoyed the video!!!
Hi mick, I have a tip for you, if you dont already know it, use a paint roller scrapper to clean the rollers off from dried grass pickup the curve is about thesame size
You call that cold? Here in Canada us Canucks wear T shirts and shorts in that kinda weather and without the nickers underneath mate! Nice video with a smooth sounding finish almost like a good cognac! Take care buddy, the OLD MAN at EP over and out!
Great little Service mick,I always wondered why gardeners don't get their equipment serviced in January/February time when it's not in real use strange aye, anyway take care mick and look forward to the next one 👍
Blade bolts should always be torqued to the proper range. For the 7/16 GR 8 bolts (5/8" wrench) used on some mowers, torque to 45-55 ft lbs. Please use the factory bolt because there must be a recessed area in the washer. For the 3/8 x 24 GR 8 bolts (9/16" wrench) used on other tractors, torque to 30-40 ft lbs
@@themowerman Thanks mick for prompt response. I found your reply too technical for me. I have Mountfield HP474 and have ordered a new blade. I put back old blade. tightened the bolt. i could not pull the cord to start. then loosened the bolt and i could pull the cord. Hence i am not sure how tight the bolt should be. Like hand tight or med tight or very tight. I have electric drill with torque marking.
@@ratilallad273 hi. Ok so the reason you could not pull the cord is because you probably tipped the mower on its side.. having the blade done up super tight will not affect the pull cord.. my advice is just do up the blade super tight.. you don't want it coming off.. then put the mower back on its wheels and leave it or 15mins.. that way the oil will go back to its normal place.. when tipping the mower on its side do it with the carb at the highest point.. hope that helps .
@@themowerman Thanks again mick. I didn't tilt the mower on its side as written on the sticker. I tilted backward. I will follow your good advice of waiting atleast 15 mins before attempting to start. I appreciate for you kind help and advice. Thanks once again mick.
Mick, i have picked up a Flymo Venturer, but need i say more. This mower is in great condition but you will understand the clutch lever problem that this mower has. Have you ever fitted a separate clutch leaver to this model to stop it running down the garden as soon as it starts. Very Bad Design.

When we put the blade back on, how tight should it be please?

Can't get them in my yard mate.. nothing over 30inch will fit in the side way
Not a fan of those early recoil covers, they always sound graunchy. Purrs like a kitten though.
Yeah nor me .. they sound like they are going to break every time you pull them lol
Doesn’t she purr after a service
