Thank you I can’t wait to get my first saxophone because I know that I will have a great teacher like you I like the way that you teach how to play this instruments
Do you think it’s possible to learn soul sax completely by ear and playing, without reading sheet music? Would you recommend it? For someone who wants to learn to play like you
@@smoothjazzsaxophonelessons9226 do you use a jodyjazz jet on the alto too? Love your sound and how you play. Do you think the jet mouthpiece would be too hard to play for a beginner? Thanks, your videos are really helpful.

nice lesson! Do you fancy the direct sound from the horn? I was wondering how would it sound with one microphone taking the sound from the top
Hi, I think, I must first say this... I learned by trying in church and at home. I had others who could play by ear, tell me if I was on point or not. So, I would really have to think about this more to give a good answer. I think practicing scales with keyboards, like singers do, will help to get you started on matching sounds with your sax on a regular basis:) So practice scales with the notes being played by keys at the same time....at least a good start for your ear and for your scale knowledge.
My new favorite channel 🙏
That’s comment makes me happy! Thanks
Good lesson I can use this on my Soprano and Alto.

Jiří Popek I like the sound from the bottom, it give more oboe-ish tone to it. The top sound is nice too
@@smoothjazzsaxophonelessons9226 yes - it is a matter of preference
Darryl, what is the best way to determine which key the song is written in without the benefit of having the sheet music?
