  • In this short video, I'll show you how you can insert file printouts into OneNote note page so that you can search its content and annotate on them.

    4:55 is the KEY of what you're looking for to prevent MISALIGNED text in Onenote. great video

    One of very few TH-cam content providers that doesn't make you feel like your watching an audition. This cat simply knows his subjects very well and doesn't attempt to convey them in an exaggerated manner and/or with nauseatingly excessive hand gestures. Also, the videos are a nice length that don't cause you to wander off. I hope his efforts become well compensated.

      @@AndyPark365 i agree 100% with the comment by James. You feel empowered to do what Andy presented and much more. When I start researching a topic I start using a shotgun approach, where I print or download the contents from every link that had content that might be useful. If the download is a large document, and before you download you don't know how big it is, it is probably not a good idea to bring it into OneNote. Maybe a link to it will suffice. If it is a couple of pages, it is definitely worthwhile because you don't have to bother renaming the printed .file in order to remember what it contains. You will simply see it. I imagine that you can export it if necessary afterwards. I need to deliver a seminar next month. It will be in PowerPoint. How easy is it to move edited content from OneNote to PP? Can OneNote include videos. I am completely new to OneNote at this point.

    Often I need to insert a file printout - from pdf or word or ppt - that prints fine from its native file to A4 pages. If I insert to onenote dimensions no longer fit an A4 print of pages, its like onenote automatically 'upsizes' the printout. Is there a way to avoid this without having to manually reduce the resulting onenote pages sizes? Frustrating as it has to be done page by page and each then moved to avoid gaps between the now smaller pages.

    Hi Andy, good work!
    Would it be possible to insert it within a container ? like a table for example ... I have multiple pdf letters which I want to order within a table on the same page.
    However, when I insert the PDFs, I cannot control the place of their insertion despite pointing into a specific cell within a table, it appears under it. :( ..tried everything, embedded tables, etc

    When you update the original file , does it delete the notes that you previously wrote in the file in one note ?

    What do you do in the situation where some pages need to be oriented in portrait and some need to be oriented in landscape (to view diagrams correctly, etc.)?

      Open the file you’re inserting and change the orientation via the print dialogue box under print setup.

    HI Andy,
    I want to embed using the "print file" function for a document stored in a TEAMS Group that my team will update occasionally. I am able to post the link on a page, but not in "print file" format. Is there a way to embed a TEAMS file in "print file" format for those documents since they are not in my OneDrive? I am have to create a number of books and want that information to "automatically" update in the OneNote books when we make updates to the file. Thanks!

    Hi Andy! Is this only for the most up to date OneNote? I’m operating 2018 OneNote and want to insert a PDF that I can “control F on” or search to find specific words in the document (like you did at 1:00) but I am unable to do so! Help please!

    • @AndyPark365
      @AndyPark365  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Laura. Actually the version I use is the older version often referenced as 2016 desktop version that comes with office 365. It sounds like yours may be the newer version that comes with Windows 10...? I imagine you should be able to search for text within the PDF printout but I cannot test since I don't have the same version you're using. Sorry.

    Thanks, I was wondering whether I can edit the dimensions of all inserted pages at once. It takes a lot of time to change them one by one. Is this possible?

    • @AndyPark365
      @AndyPark365  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lüceyn - I agree that it's not efficient to change the dimension one page at a time. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to change them all at one. If I discover a solution to this, I will share. Thanks.

    Hi - With the icon of the attached file:
    Is it possible to edit the size of the text adjacent to the icon?
    On my system (Mac, desktop app) - the text is small font, and the full name of the file not visible.
    Thanks

    Every time I try to insert a pdf printout via the insert tap of OneNote itself, I get an error message from OneNote...
    Only printing from outside to OneNote works, but why???

    I have just tried your solutions and they didn't work unfortunately. I went into the printer settings and tried both portrait and landscape and with both settings the PDF was in the incorrect rotation.
