    What a GODsend this video was today! It may have actually prevented a divorce! 🤣 You see the older my husband gets, the less patience he has to work on our Mercedes ML500 (mine) & Mercedes E320 (his). So he pulled 2 bolts out of the tensioner thingy but 1 of the bolts was 3 times longer than the other bolt. When the tensioner didn't come off, he proceeded to stomp around the house using some VERY choice words!🤭 Even tho I'm a girl who would rather do her hair, a pedicure or her make up, I attempted to help him by googling the tensioner thingy. Then, a miracle happened & we found/watched your video! We determined that he neglected to push the pin back so he could get the correct screw out. As he looked at me with disgust while shooting testosterone everywhere, I heard him barely mutter "thanks honey". Long story short, the assembly tensioner thingy is replaced & my car runs like a top! So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking the time to do these easy to follow videos where even a girl can do it! Well, if she wanted to! I wish you MAJOR Blessings & Prosperity! Know that your kindness has TRULY made a difference in the life of this Southern girl! Subscribed! 💞

      Very Very stupid. Pin 5 mm pin . Just use 5 mm drill bit to put pin first. Mercedes Benz is Oldest mobile company. Design is very easy for mechanics. Pin hole just see New tensioner where is and just use finger to feel and put only. It's can not see. Don't try to see . But can feel by finger, After pulling down 17 mm socket handles. You guide the Block Aluminium to damage threads inside. You very very stupid man to teach blocks to condemned . Engine to condemn

    Thank you for your videos. From one of your previous videos I will be doing the rear differential fluid myself sometime soon. I have a 2010 ML 350 base model. The four way power adjustable steering wheel will no longer go up or down but it will still go in and out. I believe a plastic piece inside the column is broken because I can feel the motor engage and then it acts like it is stuck. I talked with the dealer and they wanted $2k not including labor to replace the whole steering wheel assembly. Is there a simple fix for this or am I stuck living with this until I pay to replace it? Thank you.

    • @glasser2819
      @glasser2819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      save your time and consider replacing the complete tensioner unit.
      Its not only the pulleys's bearing that wears out... after a while the spring tension digs itself in and the belt proper tension is severely degraded to the point it slips and gets hot, brakes etc... TENSIONERS are only good for 60kMi
      👍

    • @RothBeyondTheGrave
      @RothBeyondTheGrave 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Ash Moe "serpentine assembly" may be aka belt tensioner assembly. Just a guess. Replacing my belt, both idlers & tensioner today. Too fragile a system to not do it all in one go imo....& affordable. Not affordable if a shredded belt's ripple effects wreak havoc on other belt driven components

    • @glasser2819
      @glasser2819 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RothBeyondTheGrave the real Nugget here us a German design secret...
      When the old belt tensioner is pegged in and the belt is slipping more grabing (100kMi)...
      then the engine ECM sees the crankshaft not rotating smoothly (this is how misfires are detected!) because of the belt acting up,
      ECM slowly detunrs the engine timing and throttle back the mixture.
      The outcome is a shaky engine that feels worn out... courtesy of the cheap belt system (#1: tensioner, #2:wobly plastic idlers, #3: super long belt).
      For less than $100 in parts + an ECM relearn you car runs strong again without belt chirps
      👍

    • @glasser2819
      @glasser2819 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ash Moe it's easy to see if the serpentine tensioner is new or original: pop the hood and look all around the belt: how many clean parts do you see besides the 2 round pulleys?

      better to look on the common rail if there is one... in a "return-less" system pressure is very likely set directly in-tank by primary pump.
      However modern engines use a secondary high-pressure pump for direct injection.
      Note that these fuel systems are normally trouble free.
