By the way, it is true that some 12-point votes were almost guaranteed, partly, as you said, because of politics, but also because countries were only permitted to perform in their own language between 1966 and 1973, and again between 1977 and 1998. And, of course, culture is a big influence. It's easier to like styles you're familiar with. For a lot of countries, the internet has had a positive influence on that. The last song is their own song Lights and Shadows, it was a personal song. It was about their mother who was really ill of cancer. She died a few month's after the eurovision contest, she died 12 july 2017😥😊
Most acts the the ESC experience their 5 minutes of fame, and are never heard of again.Still, I usually watch it, and that's a good thing: I would never have heard of Og3ne otherwise! I saw them with "Lights and shadows", loved it, and voted for them.
The next day I found their "We Got This" album at a big, worldwide online store. That was the day when I got infected with the "Og3ne virus".
By now I not only have all the music that is available online or on CD / DVD, but I have seen them live on stage 4 times. I always have to drive 400 - 600 miles for that, but the concerts are where greatness becomes mind blowing. I have seen a lot of concerts in the last 50 years, but never before I had a constant smile on my face, crying tears of pure joy.
The last one was their own performance song Lights and Shadows Shine a light was Katrina and the waves
I believe that this is my 4th time hearing these ladies and I am becoming a fan.
There was one part at the beginning when they started harmonizing it sounded just like the Bee Gees

Lights and Shadows was their song they performed at Eurovision 2017
The last song 'Lights and Shadows' is their own song.
They participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.
This song was written by their father for their mother.
She was seriously ill but luckily she was able to experience this performance live.
It came as a surprise that their mother could be here, they never expected that.
Unfortunately she died shortly afterwards.
Below the performance of OG3ENE during the Songfestival.
At the end of the song, the ladies hug each other and start crying.
This was a very emotional moment for Lisa, Shelley and Amy.

I think last year was really most about the real music. The real winner have won. People who have done reactions for the songs last year have said that The Netherlands would win and they were right😀 Proud to be Dutch. How are you doing there?

eurovision is not a festival, its a contest to be specific its a song contest, its not at all about the singers(s) unless the singer wrote the song. like Duncan Laurence who won in 2019
