I did TKD from 13 -23 got my black belt and ranks. Took 15 years off and start over as a white belt with my kids at 38. At 43 I may not be as fast or flexible as an adult, but I am still having a good time.
I am a 31 year old doing tkd for about one year now and it is my first martial art. You sir are a breath of fresh air and inspiration! No shortage of negative stuff online around tkd and even martial arts in general and I can say it’s changed my life already. You and one or two others are the only thing I need when I’m off training for reinforcement! Thank you sir!
I’ve been in a few months and I’m 37. I’ve hit the mat plenty of times because my coordination is just not as good as it was when I was in Isshinryu as a kid. Starting Taekwondo has been one of the best decisions of my adult life.
Great video. I am a 4th degree in Taekwon-Do ITF and a 65 years old man. I’m back in the school after taking many years so I’m taking it easy and planing on keep going ☺️
I started Itf Taekwondo as a 20 years old and turning 21 this august (started training at august 15 every sat and sun) It seems like I'm the only student who is older than others (some are teens and 13 below). I got inspired and admire the young lads who are already in the blue and red belts, some are teaching me and I appreciate how they help me to do patterns from tul or poomsae, it has 3 patterns that i need to memorize and the 2 patterns I already mastered, and I can't wait to learn the last pattern for the white belt, thanks to a 15 year old guy who teach me how to maintain hand position accurately. And I hope I could reach the black belt and embrace the way of the Taekwondo, Tenets and its culture. I subscribe to your channel because of the tkd home exercise of how to unlock your hips, Thank you Sir for the Video. Taekwon!
I started taekwondo in my mid 20s I am now a black belt at 35 going for my second degree. Im definitely not as fast or flexible as the teens but I absolutely love the sport and I give them a challenge in sparring. Anywho I will continue to try to give it my all and get better at it. ❤ 🥋
Im 36 and been on the fence about going back to my old TKD school. Reasons id join is the health benefits of stretching and sparring. Ive practiced several different styles and would want to retain them. Im just not sure if my master would be happy if i end up using them. I want to be respectful as much as possible. I cant think of any other place to go to.
I am a cyclist,so i do have proper stamina, and despite being 39 now i'm determined to give taekwondo a go. In your opinion does it help to have big muscular legs to master or at least try to master kicking techniques?
Hello, I have a question for Topic Tuesday. How can I teach students, especially teenagers, to use good control in sparring? My school doesn't belong to any official organization, so we don't follow any particular rules for sparring, but basically we do point sparring and tell our students to use good control on their techniques so that they don't hurt their opponent. Even though we tell the students this and demonstrate it to them, some simply don't get it and I worry about them hurting someone (especially in the kids class where we have 5-13 year olds together). Any advice would be helpful. Love the videos! Keep up the good work!
Hello sir . May I get an idea of how much time it takes to get to a considerable level in TKD as far as muscle memory and quick reflexes are concerned ? I am a newbie and haven't had a single TKD class yet
Hello again, I have another topic tuesday suggestion, what is your opinion on the "mystical side of martial arts" as far as chi development through patterns or training for the purpose of it? (please joke on this aswell - topic tuesday humour is fun for all) also do u do any form of mediation in your dojang or any possibly back in the aikido days? did u find it helped in anyway if so? I'll be back in a week for topic tuesday from over in Canada.
Hello sir I have a question. My WT Taekwondo school has a pretty weird belt Ranking system compared to the other schools, the system goes like this: White belt Yellow belt Orange belt Turquoise belt Blue belt Green belt Purple belt Red belt Brown belt Brown with a black stripe belt Black belt Does that matter?
Do you ever spar with other styles? I'm a karate guy and it's exhilarating interacting with martial artists climbing a different path and witnessing how they utilize their bodies in a different way than I do?

Do all taekwondo schools offer to teach more acrobatic kicks like the 540 kick ?
