    I definitely have fine low porosity hair. I wash my hair every 5 days otherwise I get a lot of build up. My hair hates cold water, it gets stiff. One time I was at the DevaCurl salon and one of the hairstylist was detangling my hair with cold water. She was STRUGGLING BAD! So the head hairstylist came over and told her to turn the heat up. My hair detangled like butter instantly. And I have to dilute all of my leave in and creams with water otherwise my hair feels greasy. I also can only refresh my curls once with products between washes otherwise the build up is too much and weighs my curls down. My hair is so picky. 😅

      Wow. It sounds like you have a good understanding of your hair though so thats good. It sounds very low Porosity lol?

      @@kekekurly yes! I used to treat it like it was high porosity where I would just dump super heavy products on it in an attempt to get it to last longer. My hair would be white by the time I was done. Then I would rinse with cool water which is a big no no for low porosity. But my hairstylist told me to just stop putting so much product in my hair and just wash it more often.

      My hair also hates cold water and I didn’t notice until I started using hot water because now it feels more open.

    I wish I had watched this video two years ago, but luckily I watched other ones that made me think about my hair a little bit more. In 2021 there was a day where I just started crying because my hair wasn’t looking good like, it felt so dry so, even when I styled it it didn’t look good. So then I watch this TH-cam video where people were talking about heavy oils and butters and then I did an analysis on my own hair care routine and I was using Shea butter and castor oil on my hair basically every other day, every wash day on my strands on my roots and I wasn’t clarifying my hair either. So I realised that my hair was basically repellent to water because I had created a film or barrier bc of the oils and butters on my hair. I was also suffering with severe dandruff. So I stopped using Shea butter and castor oil for 2 years (still not using them now) and I started to wash my hair weekly. I’d make sure that, whenever I was washing my hair I drenched it in water first before shampooing and then when I shampooed I’d make sure to shampoo twice sometimes three times if needed. I made sure to buy a good shampoo that allowed me to detangle my hair, while I am shampooing, and that it wouldn’t tangle my hair up.
    Now that I wash my hair weekly and I can like cleanse my hair up to three times in one wash day, just to make sure that my hair is fully clean I’ve noticed that my hair responds better to water. It doesn’t take as long to get fully wet, I also noticed that the products are absorbed better into my hair and my dandruff basically disappeared. However, I’ve noticed that my hair still takes awhile to dry which makes me think that I am truly a low porosity hair girl, but not to the extent that I thought I was when I was using heavy oils and butters.
    This video is very very valuable as it makes us think a bit more about our hair because we are used to watching a lot of videos and just taking what people say as facts when we don’t really see the long-term results of what we’re doing until things go left.
    Congrats for this amazing amazing video

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I agree i think shampooing is almost viewed as a bad thing amongst the natural hair community when really that is the one element of our wash day which really allows our hair to be hydrated and provides us with a reset for the week. I cannot go longer than a week without shampooing otherwise my hair just doesn’t respond well to additional products.

      This is where I am at my hair journey, but it's coconut oil instead. I want to avoid Shea butter, olive and castor oils too since they're also heavy, but finding products without them is incredibly hard.

    • @lindafloralmeida6114

      @@Padu2605coconut oil (any raw oil for that matter) will create a film on your hair. As I am, Camille rose have leave-ins with oils in them, so just buy those. I’d say avoid the raw oils and look for products with oil in the top 10 of ingredients. And you should be fine. Even just regular leave-ins have some oil in them, so you don’t need to look for them in the ingredients, most of them will have oils

    third video watching so far , whilst blowing kisses to her! she happens to be among the very few who actually clarify about porosity , product effects on hair , and heaviness/lightness of product, and that's basically how eventually we can manage hair using the right products fr our hair and not jst what we think is right . I'm a curly fine 3c hair, always used a variety of products , it has always been a struggle to identify the right product fr my hair, i'm glad i came across her channel ;)

    Thanks for the amazing advice queen!! I needed this, I do NOT clarify as I should. I believe this is why I have white film on hair. Also, what scalp treatment do you suggest for dry scalp? Or do you suggest grease Sulfur 8 etc for dry scalp. Thank you! New subbie 💜💜🙌🏾

    • @kekekurly
      @kekekurly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heyyy love to hear it! Yes clarifying is so important with the amount of product we apply throughout the week. Yes try sulfur 8 if it has worked for you in the past. I like doing an ACV rinse on mine if my scalp is unbalanced as it restores the ph balance.

    So my hair is really low porosity 👍 i wash my hair 1 day x week sometimes 2 days for week in the summer (1,2 or 3 washes with shampoo) . I don’t use a lot of things just a nice conditioner and it takes long to dry almost 2 h. I don’t use oils and nothing extra. But I have to say my hair is virgin hair,not relaxed,dye,nothing and it’s a 3 c hair
