Peter. It wouldn’t surprise me at all. Courtney has escaped AGT and Simon as a free bird. She won a huge audience and publicity she couldn’t buy. Watching Courtney do that gig with the Struts, was like she belonged their. Very little rehearsal time and bang, they put on a performance. When she settles down and releases all that energy gradually, she will be a force to be reckoned with. What a great ride this kid has given us. I now have all her performances on aUSB stick, to watch and listened to, until this Courtney Comet reappears in the near future, I can’t wait.
Peter Johnson Adele was influenced by some of the same people that influenced Courtney, Adele went on to write her own material. Everybody at an early stage is influenced by someone. Then if they are different they will develop their own music and style. Courtney has that ability to take an original and turn it into something unique for her style. Again at 14 she has come a remarkably long from when she was 11. When she is 18, I would love to see that growth, she won’t be like a puppy tugging at the leash. I love her soul, as much as her rock, and when she mixes the two together, like in the tina turner ending song. I think her first two performances are what got people hooked on her and they were way more soulful, but she did equally well with the rock, I hope she can find a happy medium, because she has fans that adore her and love one side or the other better. I think the only one that was not surprised was Courtney. I know this sounds crazy but she may have won, but it was fixed for her not to win. Because AGT has been complained about for picking too many singers. Too young female singers. Many were saying it was fixed for her from the beginning. Many were saying they would stop watching if she won. So AGT already knowing the Simon would sign her regardless, saw that it was best for her to lose, even if she won, rather than go on as a professional artists with the stigma that her AGT win was fixed. Now they can never say that. And with her contract she gets way more than AGT 200.000 lump sum payment, still goes to Vegas, and can release music quicker with no AGT obligations. So I am guessing she actually won, but it was possibly fixed, for her to lose, regardless. Just saying, to add another perspective to the mix.
