Thank You so much for making this video...i am really fed up, tried many times but it doesn't work. But it working fine. I am regularly upload project file in linux, so every time i have to write multiple command in cmd. Now it really became simple ...thanks
Great video thanks very much. Helped me get it working. Its refreshing to have something well paced and informative, I even had to pause it a couple of times which is better than repeatedly having to fast forward though something too slow Im not sure why it didnt work before I watched your vid, I had the right idea, but following the steps worked a treat. Am I assuming the \\sshfs expects to see rsa_id? Id didn't have that originally. Do you know if you can specify the IdentityFile? And is there a link for the doco on sshfs options?
6:27 When I opened the .ssh folder on my PC, it only contained one file: known_hosts. I did not have the id_rsa.pub file. Maybe I missed something in the video but to create the file I needed run "ssh-keygen" and I did not enter a password when asked. (in case anyone else gets stuck at this stage). Thanks "Fix A PC"
It's connecting completely fine through both CMD and Bash, my key is used on C:\Users\X/.ssh/id_rsa on CMD and ~/.ssh on WSL. Both of the keys are the same. When I try mapping the network drive, it prompts me to type the credentials in, so I type in my credentials and it results in "Access is denied." I'm wondering if this is an issue with my keys or if there's something else going on?
@@FIXAPC It seems to be connecting fine without the .ssh folder. Can I modify permissions (chmod 755) on files from Windows file properties or do I have ssh in to do so?
@@FIXAPC I really like how its like windows explorer. The passphrase is even more secure and I believe from what I read it allows thumbnail generation which is the most important part. I have a lot of pics and I like to remote in when I'm gone away to look at them. I use winSCP remotely now but not thumbnail generation. I use smb while on my home network.
@@IliyaYaroshevskiy1 I did get this to work after long trouble but tbh I forgot how I did it. That was on my other computer and since I have not messed with it.
please - add comment in section "Using A SSH Public Key" - that you must generate ssh key without password - or it not be working :) for me it's ok, I create separate user without any important role - only for copy files thanks!
Thank you so much. I was stuck on the home directory but you helped me fix that.

Hi, I have no permission to write the remote files on the network disk, could you please tell me how to enable it? Thanks!
Do you know if your linux user you logged in as has permission to write to the folder? That might be the problem

I get the same issue no matter what I do..
When specifying the folder, you need to type .r after sshfs!
6:23 I don't have a .ssh folder in my current user folder. Did I miss a step?

@@FIXAPC thanks for this. really helped me
Thanks dude. Finally connected to my Synology NAS through user/password. But I can't find the Key file though. Hmm
Hi great Video! IS there anyway to use key file and passphrase? Thanks!
@@FIXAPC Yes!

wondering about this too, I can't get it to work. did you ever manage to find out if this is possible?
