This works for an initial phone interview, but past that first round, these questions aren't really asked nor are they particular to SysAdmins. Heck, I don't think I've ever had an interview(IT or not) where these questions(or a slight variation of them) were not asked. A more "SysAdmin" specific video might be helpful, with basic technical questions or at least a list of subjects to review might be helpful.

because most of it is general info and can be applied to almost any position, not saying the info isn't good, just saying that the conecepts/ideas aren't exclusive to a sys admin role. You could. Could be a bit tricky since some employers may look for certs but could definitely do it. Just be sure to learn all yoi can about a sys admin role through videos, maybe learn how to set up your own virtual labs to simulate a server environment and use your experience with your help desk job(if you're still there) to get to know thr sys admin because believe it or not help desk and sys admin are more alike than one might think
If you don't have any experience, always try to do some voluntary work - there will be many groups online seeking help. Also, you can sign up to a freelance website like UpWork and get experience quickly by doing various jobs for others. @@scotsman984 I am in the same boat trying to get work as a system administrator coming from helpdesk. It isn't easy to make a video on this. System Administration isn't a simple x, y and z job. There isn't a video one can make that will really cover everything or even skim the surface of it. What I am doing, is taking projects I've handled and above and beyond moments as helpdesk tech and capitalizing on that in interviews. I am also going for certs, like AZ-103 and have setup a homelab at home (win server, sophos firewall etc) to start scratching the surface on what sysadmins do. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for that video. You have definitely provided valuable information. However, I really hope the recruitment process is changing because if these answers are expected by the interviewers then they would like to hire a dancing monkey in tuxedo, than an actual person.
@@CareerVidz I can just be myself and answer honestly and intelligently. But that may still not get you a second interview. The most practical video for me would have been of actual technical questions that you might get when going for a particular roll since your basing your video on specific rolls. You should mention that these are first interview questions and not technical ones. Yes it's helpful not sounding like a clown when first talking to someone when applying for a roll, but usually a recruiter will filter those people out.
