- Talk about acrobatics. These gibbons in Borneo can swing from branch to branch, sometimes up to 30 feet. And that's without a rope or safety net!

I love how they run/walk with their hands way in the air, they look like acrobats :D
Punjabi p
atiala
Acrobats look like them
@@stampedmetalsword8099 nah.
@@stampedmetalsword8099 gibbons are our cousins not ancestors
It would be pretty fun to swing through the trees like a gibbon
Absolutely. Give Attenborough the same images and he would say something enlightening and inspiring. This guy can't even entertain.
Comparing people to Attenborough is like comparing them to Jesus. Come on, the cards are stacked against just about anyone.
I found this video highly educational.
I've recommended it to my brother Heinrich.
That's just Nat. Geo's take. Find some by the BBC, they tend to be very tastefully done. David Attenburough is my favorite.
mute works nicely
0:34 "there's even a word to describe what's going on here"
AWESOMNESS???
Swingers have the most fun!
i think the Narrator choice is just perfect for this gibbon scean. the voice fits in with with the gibbons swinging around some how. i like it actually.
Gibbons are the masters of parkour.
i love the way their arms flail when they're not using them
They are too cute :)
You wouldn't hear Big D narrating like that, he has both interest in and respect for animal life.
Do, do, do, the funky gibbon (the funky gibb-on),
We are here to show you how (oo oo oo),
Ooo, ooo, ooo, the funky gibbon (the funky gibb-on),
It's just like you,
so come on and do
the funky gibbon now......
(Chorus from 'Funky Gibbon', by The Goodies)
I played World of Warcraft in Vanilla times. and my Human Male Warrior had a bug. While Chargin', he charged to the enemy like those Gibbons with raised arms :D
gibbons=cool
And I suspect that this WAS a kids' show, thus explaining why the narrator sounding like he was on a kids' show.
I was thinking the same thing. Nature isn't just for goofy kids.
yup, 'turnoff' monologue.
I wish humans had evolved from gibbons!! I love them so much.
I know some lanky mfs who probably did
humans didn't evolve from any of the monkeys living nowadays. Not chimps, not gorillas, not bonobos and not gibbons. Other animals are not our ancestors, or our "parents" but they are our relatives or "cousins". Gibbons are some of our closest relatives, after the great apes family.

Those fruits are pretty good.
They are awesome at swinging from tree to tree ❤
the red fruits the money was eating, is so bomb omg, i want some right now
yeah me too bro
yeah. having grown up with David Attenborough, this is really sub standard stuff. Gibbons are cool though. I hope they inherit the earth after us :)
so very true
they also like to tease linons and tigers
When I listen to stupid, dumbed-down commentary like this, it makes me SO happy that we have Sir David Attenborough
gibbons rock my world
at the start of the video those fruits I've had them they're amazing
gibbony gibbons gibboning around :D
Oohhh ni la jebon.. sup sap sup sap mcm jebon😌
Constant slow motion and 50s era parlour music? No thanks.
Smood47 LMAO 😂 dead
SHINA!!! LOOK COUSIN!!!
Let's all volunteer to work & interact with the other ape families
i know!
Agreed, "NatGeo" as it were is pretty dumbed down.
Gibbons have been known to brachiate at speeds of up to _fifty kilometers an hour._
cool story bro
in my next life. What a frickin beast
@meanvince One of the first things that popped into my head while watching this was Attenborough. Then I read your comment and laughed out loud......mind you, I was stoned. Never the less, you speak the truth.
lol I agree the voice doesnt really suit this, serious voices like david attenborough etc suit national geographic more.
Rambutans! FUCK YEAH
same!!!
I wish I could do that!!!!
I would like to have a gibbon also, but I don't have the space that he would need. so I wouldn't cage him up. he stays wild
This is my team in League of Legends.
:30 these gibbons are agile...all gibbons are agile :-) good video though
@sonsprinter agreed.
SHINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
SHINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ahahaha xD
HAHA! what a tip i just did what you said while baked out of my skull at college and i was like wooooooooww!!!!
Hylobatydae (Gibbon) is a true brachiator.
Libraries are also free. So why can't we hold TH-cam to the same standard?
Not a fan of the hacky jokes and dopey music
@Metatronicus Awesome comment!
The funniest creature on Earth !
HEY GUYS, A FRESH FRUIT SNACK WILL DO NICELY.
Find a forest and set him free my friend!
its fucking phenomenal
@geoffting yeah I agree.... it's like a cheesy kids programme not a NG special
Set the gibbons on the commentator!
@orlyrabbit Because we totally see that on camera. Not.
@TurnToJesus1 Seems pretty obvious that he was making a lame joke about how messily the gibbon was eating.
@schmetterlink I don't know what LCD stands for, but agreed. this commentary and sound effects added in is just embarassing
sounds like Adam Carrolla
There are better gibbon vid clips on here.
the fruits are called rambutans. they dont taste that great kinda like lychees but nowhere near as nice
@xxxXPrisonBreakXxxxx Is it his job description to talk as if we don't know what the word Arboreal.
I would trade my sister for an agility like that
Libraries are public property, meaning you are actually paying for it with your taxes. While youtube is a private entity, with a sole purpose of making money mainly through entertainment.
the best primate
i want the fruit damn !
Actually the commentary is exactly the quality I expect from the likes of the NatGeo lot. Never ending dumbing down for an increasingly dumb audience.
Nat Geo should trade this narrator for that gay "honey badger" guy.
The Ginging Swibbon
@orlyrabbit You probably can't tell a joke when you read one.
Gibbons rule
viva vegetta
HAHAHAHAHAH FUCKIN GIBBONS HAHAHAHAHA
Javan gibbon
it was eating a rambutan yeah?
@orlyrabbit You probably are a Gibbon.
@meanvince
Yep. America can't do thinking.
Whiz is spelled with an H

They walk like they have issues with their backs and arms
Eurgh, these comments are all wrinkle and old

*presses mute
watch bbc natural world
@originalrecoil lowest common denominator
hahaha^__^
thank god for the mute button
trees...bullshit parkour lets u do that
I know how you feel.I'm trying to learn about these incredible animals, but a stupid guy like this has to mess it up, and as you said, portrays it as a joke. nature is not a joke. and should not be exploited like this.
thumbs down because of ads.
populasi orang utan di kalimantan tnggal sedikit ladi akibat pembalakan liar,,.diper kiarka nhanya tnggal 300 ekor saja ..sungguh menyedih kan pdahall orang uta ini adalah ter masuk satwa yg dilindungi
National Geographic used to make the best documentaries. Now they're just the worst LCD crapola.
turn the narration off and play Sun it Rises by Fleet Foxes instead. And sit back and wish you were a gibbon!
shit!
Narration is abysmal - obviously designed for the dumbed-down US market
