i went to a gibbon sanctuary place recently and it was pretty cool like some of them were swinging around and some them were just eating food looking at us, some times they would just start singing when they saw food cause they were excited and the first time they started singing it lasted for like three minutes it was pretty cool and loud.
Bet the most satisfying thing about being a gibbon is just freely, effortlessly, and super efficiently just swinging from branch to branch. looks so fun, wow.
Nice video! I hope some experts can answer my question. I know Gibbons are all over SE Asia and they must have encountered leopards. My concern is the Gibbons are able to outpace leopards on trees? We know leopards can catch monkeys.
my uncle has one of these as a pet and I had to pin it down & slap it across the face after it thought it would be a good idea to P all over me. Climbed right to the top of that bookshelf and aimed it at me. Straightened that thing out right then and there..
Give up your homosapien card then and go live with them. Bring nothing that us lower-runged humans have invented. See how much you like it. I'll keep the porch light on in the event you change your mind. I expect it to be quick.
It's not so much the falling that's worrisome. It's the sustained loss of forest cover in their jungles in north-east India. As trees are cut down and forest canopies become less dense, less close together, gibbons are forced to come to the ground to move from place to place. This makes them incredibly vulnerable to feral dogs, humans and other predators.
They fall pretty often, they're just light and small enough that they don't tend to get horrific injuries or die. Broken bones are exceedingly common, but they're rarely fatal since they are very tough and also social, and can take care of each other pretty well.
I hope some super smart aliens are watching recordings of me walking around my house and working out with half this level of supportiveness and approval. Commenting “I love humans” even when it’s me struggling to cook pasta
Yes, but your ability to compose and post that paragraph obliterates the most complex mental task that any Gibbon in the history of the world has ever undertaken.
I think that in the Disney movie Tarzan, when Tarzan was swinging on the lianas and walking along the edges of the trees, for me they were based on the movements of the gibbons, because gorillas and others do not have that fluid agility of gibbons apart they have a favor their body weight that is not so much and therefore they can do many maneuvers swinging on thin branches, I could spend hours admiring their agility and freedom
Well if I remember correctly, in the movie itself, Tarzan never learned tree-swinging from gorillas. He learns it from the monkeys (or maybe gibbons? I can't remember) that he saw swinging in the trees.
@@BingBong67489 colobus monkeys love to leap as well. No wonder why in Disney’s Tarzan, they taught young Tarzan himself how to swing and leap at the same time.
I wonder if I can do this but of course slower. I'd love to give it a try. I don't think the trees where I live are very suitable for going tree to tree though. It's mostly coniferous trees like spruce. It's quite easy to climb a single tree so long as there is at least one branch low enough to the ground to grab. Often times in the middle of the forest though, it's quite a ways up before any of that, and it is too wide to wrap my arms around and shuffle up. I feel like climbing some trees now. I might just keep an eye out for any close together clusters of trees so that I could try going tree to tree.
Hi, I’m seeking permission to use a 7 second clip of your video for educational purposes as part of a presentation about tree climbing techniques for Arborists. How do I go about getting the permission? Thanks
