    Did you paint or seal the wood? If not, did it rot once got wet?

      We sealed it with outdoor deck paint. The can says "Pittsburgh paints & Stains - Ultra advanced - Stain & Sealant in one - for decks, fences, & siding - 100% acrylic formula, advanced 2-way waterproofing, ultra UV protection"
      It's still as solid as day 1. No rotting that I can tell.

      @@TheresOneOutdoors It's always nice when you can use stain or sealant that was already laying around the house.

    Adding a casting deck was a no-brainer. I should’ve done this sooner.

    This was really fun to build with some friends. Only took a day to complete!

      It was super easy once we figured out the template.

      Perhaps add carpet glue to the deck to make it a bit more snug.

      I personally would have used a different carpet instead of turf, but that’s just a personal preference. Glue probably would have been better if used under the carpet as well.

    How to do you attach it to the boat? Or is not permanently attached?

    • @TheresOneOutdoors
      @TheresOneOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not permanently attached. You can take it on and off pretty easily while not worrying about it flying up while driving.
      There are two metal supports near the bench (see 0:01) that help keep things in place and prevent sliding.

    do you need to coat the wood in some kind of sealer so it does not rott

    • @TheresOneOutdoors
      @TheresOneOutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would. We sealed our with outdoor deck paint.

    Does it stay in place when you trailer the boat?

    • @TheresOneOutdoors
      @TheresOneOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It hasn't moved at all. It's very solid.

      @@TheresOneOutdoors I'm going to do exactly as you on my Lund SSV. i may put the hinges for the hatch opposite as I want to store my anchor and rode under the deck. If I can I will also move my 5 gal gas tank under the deck as well.

    • @TheresOneOutdoors
      @TheresOneOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vernshein5430 That's awesome. Good luck. There are some supports on the left & right side of the middle seat on our boat that helps keep the deck in place. Not sure if yours has that. If not, you might need to find a way to keep it in place and adjust based on your boat and situation. Let us know how it goes!

    Pretty close to how I’ve done Al of my boats 2x4s for the stringers then just trace out the decking. Always works great. Not the lightest in the world but I’m not fishing in the bassmasters and I’m not trying to race anybody to my spot

    • @TheresOneOutdoors
      @TheresOneOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be lighter, but it was easy to make and it's sturdy. If it works, it works!

    I would have liked to see things a litle clearer here and slower so I can do the same for my boat. I am not expert and was hoping I could use this video to build my casting deck. Nice work though

    Be careful where the deck meets the right side of the boat, could lose some coins or a bass down that gap
