      Got to love that about any sort of sensor. Just because it’s telling you something you expect to see at first glance doesn’t mean it’s telling you what’s actually happening. Yes, a sightglass is a sensor. :P
      But yeah, whenever something odd is happening you always have to verify that your sensors are telling you what you expect them to be saying. I’ve been bitten by that in my day job as a software developer.

    Another coil that with some preventative maintenance could've prevented an overtime service call. Glad they decided to replace it instead of repair though. Fun fact I started watching this video at 5:44 am uk time amd the first clip was recorded @ 5:44pm

    That heat wave was absolutely brutal; Sept 6th, I remember that Friday. I was doing a maintenance on a single level office building in Colton, my temp probe read 122° in the shade at 4pm. Meanwhile there was that giant apocalyptic smoke plume to the northeast from one of those forest fires that were raging in the mountains. I was at the same location the day before but at a different building doing a maintenance, it was “only” 118° but the heat damn near almost took me out; I thought I was gonna have to go home sick. The following Monday we got multiple service calls for units with blown disconnect fuses, and who’s condenser coils were plugged up with ash from the fires. I’m amazed that none of the compressor terminals (at least the ones I went to) blew out from those conditions.

    • @FerdinandFake
      @FerdinandFake วันที่ผ่านมา

      I do supermarkets exclusively and very rarely fill more than one 10kg bottle. Every place has remote temp surveillance and for the most part even low charge switches in the collector, by the time I get there its just a low charge alarm or the last unit running warm, both go away after just a slight fill
      Sure it might still bubble slightly under maximum load, but the next leak is just around the corner and filling it up to the brim every time is pointless unless you make a profit on the gas and hate your customer.

    So I had an idea after watching the video. You have electric defrost capabilities...I know for the application they aren't needed......well...why not wire them up hot on a switch in the evap and possibly up at the condenser......that way if that evap were to ever freeze up...you or your techs could flip the switch and....bam....you energize the heat to thaw out the coil. It would be used as an aid in thawing the coil and for service only. Thats why I said put a switch in the evap and at the condenser....that way if the customer got nosey and flipped the switch in the evap it wouldn't automatically turn on the heat, you would also have to flip the switch up at the condenser as well or vice versa. That can utilize what you already have available to help you and your techs on a service call......just a thought I had. Great video as always Chris

      you can order different types of condensing units for different outdoor temps. standard is a 90-95 degree i believe up to 120 degrees outdoor unit. you get bigger thicker coils to help get rid of the heat generated. most indoor reach ins have an 86 degree coil, temps get above that and it will start to struggle to cool.
