Triage is literally one of the best bls I've ever watched. the plot, the chemistry, the actors, the twists, everytthing was amazing. it always had me on the edge of my seat when I watched this series

I really liked 'Not me' because it was little bit darker than most of the BL dramas. I'm glad we're getting more these mature BL dramas.
I genuinely liked Old Fashion Cupake it's kinda rare to see bls with older characters, they have a mundane life with ordinary jobs which makes the drama look more realistic. It made me somehow feel more concerned about their relationship because our lifes are not so different from theirs after all. And i would also add Minato shouji coin laudry to the list it is super good , it's natural AND so underrated.

NOT ME is pure MASTERPIECE. its so deep and meaningful and it really carries a message. It doesn't make me watch for their chemistry or love scenes but for the whole story of the drama. 11/10 recommened
I can’t recommend Old Fashioned Cupcake enough. It’s actually a very inspirational show as well as a BL.
I was surprised Not Me is underrated. I watched it last weekend and couldn’t stop binging it.
To tell you honestly, Old Fashioned Cupcake made me want to be in a relationship right now. Haha! I have never felt like that in a long time.

Being forty myself and single for a very long time, I identified to the main character so much. It did made me want to be in a relationship too.
I enjoyed the heck out of this series. My complaint was that it was too short. Well acted, great script and finally a BL focused on older more mature characters 👏🏾 👍🏾
I enjoy this genre a lot but I find there is a lack of diversity where age is concerned. I enjoy seeing series or dramas with 35+ actors.
One of my absolute favourite I discovered a few years ago by accident is called, "When I'm 64."

1)'Old fashion cupcake' really very nice series. It throws light on various topics like there is no age and gender for trying new things and doing what we love, it's okay to try out different stuff even if you are getting old. The conversation about age, love, daily life, getting old between the leads is really worth watching.
2) Not me series is also a must watch. I don't know why GMMTV didn't promote it. It has the potential to be the best series.
3) Started watching You're my sky which is also very nice. I believe it's underrated because the first episode doesn't do much justice and hence people might tend to leave after watching the first episode.

Not me was really good. It was talking about politics, queer community, struggles of less privileged community and yet its so underrated. It hurts to see when these kind of stories don't get enough lights.
We need more BLs like this but only a few appreciates it.

I don't get how people are not talking enough about minato shouji coin laundary. It is a gem! I usually binge-watch every show because I tend to get uninterested if I have to wait for days before the latest ep is released BUT for minato's laundromat I am still as interested as ever even when I am waiting each week for the new ep. It is that good!
The actors, the storyline, the scenes and the village setting with all its sounds and cinematography makes you feel so good and warm. My favourite is the cricket noises😆 anyways, one should at least give it a try. It's genuinely good
I would like to add that I am talking about the overall feel of the show only. Ofcourse, every show has some controversial things in it and I am not sure if the ending will be a happy one but that's all a topic for another time. Also, while watching it, one should try to see the story through the characters' pov and the environment where the characters are living.

💯 agree! I love Minato’s! I feel like Japanese BLs are often underrated… 🤔
Minato's is still airing so I think that is why there isn't a big thing about it, plus a lot of Japanese BL's don't get proper international releases. They are quite popular in Japan though. The manga is finished but it hadn't been translated to english but people are picking up on it now. It is directly scripted from the manga which is really impressive and the guy that plays Minato is the older brother of a really popular jpop boyband idol so they are getting a lot of notice because of that too.
@@AV-ks1gp Indeed, not just BLs but few Japanese dramas overall are released internationally, relative to other countries like Korea. I don’t really understand why. I mean, they’re still exporting anime/manga (although Korea and China are giving them good competition even there). Some of my favorite J-dramas are practically impossible to find outside of Japan. 😩
I’m disappointed that not that many people have seen the amazing show Rak Diao ( also known as “one love”). When I first heard of it I was shocked to know that it was a sitcom. The show has a ton of great jokes, the actors have great chemistry, and if I may say a great wardrobe. The setting is quite new and I just really like this series over all. I hope more people see this diamond in the rough!

I have watched One Love countless times and I still laugh every time with them ... everything about that sitcom was amazing, well maybe they could of been together longer at the end eg the kissing scene ...
I understand what you mean by that. I also think that’s why so many people have been wanting a season 2. I feel like they could have expanded a little bit more with the series, like for example they could have given us them getting into a relationship and all the drama that would come after. Like how would the co-workers react, how Dao react knowing that her parents can’t have grandchildren anymore. So much comedy could probably come from that.
Right? Diao dropped a “why am I even thinking about it, my mom would never allow it” line and I was waiting for that to become a thing, but it was never mentioned again.
I read somewhere that it was originally supposed to have something like 46 episodes, but they had difficulty shooting because of the pandemic and then it was getting lower viewership, so the channel canceled it. That’s why the last 2 episodes abruptly wrapped everything up.
For me Rak Diao is first sitcom BL... i have never imagined that even we can get sitcom in BL...hats off to whole production

"Old fashion cupcake" is a great series. When I watch this series, it became my favourite bl. This series has only 5 episodes but conveys a great message like, even if you are old, you can try out different things and enjoy them. I can able to connect with the characters. I love this series so much❤️.
I'm so glad you gave recognition to "You're My Sky". Sure it dragged in places, but when you compare it to some of the plotless drek being released right now ("Check Out" I'm talking to you), it really was well done. YMS will be in the shadows in a year when the BL genre moved away from the University themed plots. The sports theme might have been a little off target for the typical yaoi fan, but the story told was really quite good. The artistic way they tied the first and last episode together as a kind of full circle for the experience and the high-end production value throughout made me feel that this show was put on by a particularly sold group of behind-the-scenes production types.
I’m editing this comment, because I just watched the first episode of “My Only 12%”. And It’s a perfect example of the much higher production values and elevated level of cinematic artistry are now in BLs. Whether the series itself amounts to anything great, well, it’s too early to tell. Thanks to those behind the scenes, it has promise. The first episode ironically throws back in spirit of the show that started it all,”Lovesick” but at the same time it flashes forward BL production values in its not-to-be-missed sustained opening shot . Even if “12%” never manages to get out of cute and heart fluttery first gear, the first 90 sey conds of this show makes this series worth checking out.
That said, story sill matters. No amount of cinematic genius can take the suck out of “Bite Me”- the first inadvertent Zombie Apocalypse BL, where the actors weren’t told by the director that their characters were actual zombies.
They way you called out "Check out the series" is so on point! 🤣
Ugh yes Check Out the trailer had me hooked was so patiently waiting for the series and when it finally dropped I couldn’t continue watching after episode 4 so disappointed

I have watched every each one of these series except Triage, and let me tell you
These are all in my favourites list
1) Blueming ( this series deserves all the love in these whole world , it's a cinematic masterpiece and people sleeping on it are missing out big time)
2) Oldfashion Cupcake ( A must watch , I am not even lying when I say I smiled through the series , it is a beautiful beautiful series. I am going to rewatch it)
3) Not me - Another Masterpiece by Offgun ,it actually talks about social injustice and the romance is intense . I was hooked
4)You make me dance ( it's one of the reason I got into BL, it is one of the best KBLs)
5) Cupid's last wish - I usually avoid anything with body swap but trust me it's a masterpiece the story is beautiful and not to mention the amazing chemistry between EarthMixx
You must watch triage :) I haven't watched Cupid's last wish because I don't like body swap but I know that the chemistry between Earth and Mix is in another level since I watched 1000 stars 🤩 so I will give an opportunity
As someone in my 30's I can't stress enough how much I loved the fact that the couple in Old Fashioned Cupcake is between a 29 and 39-year-old. And also the fact that they're just regular people. 😆
You should have mentioned "My Beautiful Man." The plot was new and refreshing. The acting Superb. I barley hear you mention it. This would have been a great one for this category.

Triage and Dear Doctor definitely stood out among BL series I have watched till today. The timeloop of Triage could by quite tricky but they just did it right that every turn would be somehow different and not boring. Great. And the chemistry in Dear Doctor was also something unordinary!
I can recommend also "RakDiao" (One Love), BL sitcom but totally amazing with perfect chemistry and funny as hell! Try it!!
I watched Not Me when it was airing and the suspense i felt when each episode ended was killing me, every single week i would wait for the next episode, it was an outstanding series and i was so sad when it ended even tho it was an open ending it was very satisfying to see the result of the character's story

I feel like not enough people talk about Light On Me! It’s such a well written drama with relatable characters! Semantic Error (which is also great) came out a few months after Light On Me and I feel like a lot of peoples attention went there instead. Light On Me may have shorter episodes i believe most of them are around 20-25 minutes, but it’s a full season with 16 episodes!

Completely agree that Not Me deserved better promotion. It was so much better than most of GMMTV's shows. It's in my top 5 for the year.
I liked Dear Doctor, too. Not many of my friends liked it, though.
Blueming is excellent. It's also in my top 5 for the year. I'm excited there will be a season 2!
Something in my Room dragged a lot in the middle, but the ending was nice.
You're my Sky was disappointing, as the main couple had ZERO chemistry.

I can agree specifically to the last one 'you're my sky' couldn't be more disappointing for me. But the chemistry between the side couples was superb!

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul finally getting the recognition it deserves! Honestly, after KinnPorsche it was my favorite of the year. Karn as Tua was perfection.
Thank you for Dear Doctor I’m coming for soul! This is my favorite bl of 2022! It was simply amazing with a fantasy plot line that felt real! The chemistry of the main leads was fabulous and the ending is the stuff dreams are made of! I could not recommend this bl enough!
I finished Triage 2 days ago but I’m still hooked on the series and keep watching the reactions of the episodes and things related to the series. I think it’s because of this series that I think of becoming an ER doctor.
Then suddenly Jinta will show up and come to you. Kidding aside, Triage has shown great details on the medical side.

You Make Me Dance was such a nice k bl and the actors were also amazing. Now their hard work has paid off because the actor who acted as the contemporary Dancer is now going to make his main lead role pairing with none other than RedVelvet's Joy
You’re My Sky is amazing. Have rewatched it and am absolutely in love with the characters and the acting is great. Can really recommend this series. Can be seen on Viki/Rakuten.
Blueming is dead gorgeous, the production seemed so high, the actors were passionate (watch the bts), they filmed the layout of the series so well!! And some frames of the episodes are so so cool, they included such cinematic shots. Overall: if you haven't watched it... watch it!
I have seen almost all of them, and Triage just have to top the list. The plot, characters and chemistry development between the leads was just too good. The twists and turns always made you itch for another episode. And to top it all off, 1 hour feels just like 10 minutes.

Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shika Nai (Mr. Unlucky Can Only Kiss) is a sweet & funny Japanese bl. Definitely deserves a watch. Kamisama no Ekohiiki (God's Favorite) is another Japanese bl with a unique storyline. Rak Diao is a sitcom styled Thai bl that I have watched and rewatched so many times. I didn't think I would like it at first because it was so different, but the banter between the leads is fantastic. There is so much left to explore in that story. I wish they would have another season.
Great list! Triage is one of the best BLs I have ever seen and it’s definitely one of the best this year along with KinnPorsche. If you have not seen it please watch it. Just so brilliantly done as far as story production acting and chemistry.
Also a big fan of Doctor I’m Coming For Your Soul and Not Me. I guess I’m a sucker for underrated shows most of this list were favs.

I was shocked when I saw NOT ME in here. It's literally the best BL I have ever seen. It shows many important topics like marriage equality and basic human rights. If you didn't watch it yet you should definitely do it

Dear Doctor, Not Me, Triage, You're My Sky are one of my favorite BL Series. I even rewatch these series over and over again. Even though some bl fans say that there are no chemistry between the cast. It was diamonds to me. No one can change that. I love what I watch and I love what everything about these series
Blueming really is underrated... rewatched it like a gazillion times and still can't get over their amazing acting.. it really deserves more
Although Thai produces a lot of BL; I have to say this:
1. Japanese BL becomes more better and better (casts become good looking) and their logic and realistic is top notch. Please watch Senpai, this can’t be loved. I really recommend it.
2. Korean BL (episode become longer; it’s better), Korean BL casts really good looking (I cannot get enough of To my Stars Chemistry)
3. Taiwanese BL is the most enjoyable and connected BL industry ever. I screamed when all BL casts showed their appearance on Plus and Minus the series. I was crazy for this, like how they can come with this idea.
The one thing I don't like about Japanese bls or series in general is that they really put the anime expression and reactions to life

I have literally seen all of these series, and these choices are absolutely correct. Especially "You're My Sky", "Not Me, "Blueming", "Cupid's Last Kiss", and "You Make Me Dance".
I've watched several of these and really liked most of them. While I wouldn't say it's my favourite on this list, I'm surprised how many people seemed to genuinely dislike You're my Sky. While it's definitely not perfect all the way through, I found it has a quiet charm that isn't all that common in many Thai BLs and I was really impressed by the cinematography and colouring. I loved that it wasn't all happy and naive, and from a queer person's perspective, it was relatable and felt familiar.
Wil! 🙋🏻♂️I liked the fact that the Seme was a younger man in "Old Fashioned Cupcake" and the Uke was much older; it was fresh and new storytelling! "Blueming's" use of negative lighting during their intimate scene was delightful. I LOVED the fact that soul reapers were used instead of the tired and hackneyed university-themed BL storyline. Sounding like a broken record, with vigor, I appreciate the motif of the supernatural in "Something in my Room" instead of the stale and dull college crap.
These are really great serieses and I watched most of them and I highly agreed that Not me and Cupids last wish deserve more and more appreciation. And wanted to suggest something "long time no see" this korean Bl is extremely good and underrated too.
Triage: The Series is a gem. The best bl I've ever seen. Especially without that ' awkward useless hand scenes where oftentimes the actors don't know what to do with their hands while they're standing '.

I have noticed that there aren't many people who talk about "The Best Story". I think everyone must watch it once in their lifetime. There's something so nostalgic about it and you will find yourself in the main lead, in his every little gestures. First I wondered how will a 3 episode long bl is gonna connect with me, but then I foumd out that 3 episodes are enough to wreck me to pieces

Old fashioned cupcake is something I watch atleast a clip on daily basis. Its so lovely. It has a right amount of every emotion.
In that order, Dear doctor, cupid last wish and Not me were so damn good.
Dear Doctor conveys such beautiful messages about love and life. Sanya and prakan of which adorable. Earthmix is an outstanding combination in cupid last wish and I loved discovering the landscapes of Thailand during their journey. And finally, not me is just a masterpiece and the cast is a pure gem. Off and Gun are beautiful together and are very talented!
When I saw the video's title, the first thing that came to my mind was BLUMING HAS TO BE HERE.
also I couldn't agree more with you about what you said about cupid's last wish. Honestly, I was going to ignore it in the first but I decided to give it a try since earthmix are the main leads, and surprisingly it became one of my favorite dramas for this year so far.
Blueming aired this year but only a few knows about it. It’s a simple story but a great one.

Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! Is a japanese bl about a super lucky and an extremly unlucky guy getting together. Funny and sweet, a really refreshing bl I’ve watched recently.
I watched "dear doctor" till ep 2 but I felt it was a bit boring and out of place but "triage" was sooo good. Also "NOT ME", which I watched ongoing is the best BL of GMM so far and "Bluming" surprised me.
So I don't know if these are underrated, but I don't see as much talk about them as these other ones.
1) Obsessed (Heroine) was really good. Older series but still interesting
2) many of the HIStory series, especially Trapped, Obsessed, and Crossing the line.
3) Until we meet again. A bit too much crying but I loved the story!
I'm definitely going to be watching this list though!

My opinion on BL’s I’ve seen:
Old fashioned cupcake is so fucking phenomenal. So. Amazing. 10/10.
Not Me is also fantastic. It’s the first thing I saw with offgun so going back and seeing their other stuff was a little disappointing.
You make me dance was good. Story line is cute and the chemistry between the leads is wonderful.
Dear Doctor was good. I liked it well enough.
I thought Bleuming was honestly really good. I loved the plot of the main protagonist and how he has to try and overcome his past.
Ok but hear me out. If you want to watch a feels good enemy to lover trope but in a sitcom concept go and give Rak Diao or One Love a try.
You might get put off from the laughing track but bear with it because after episode 1, I just treat it as a background sound because the series is funny and the casts are fun to watch.
Not me is indeed the best series that gmmtv ever released and also Cupid's last wish, im a bit dissappointed with the plot but Earth and Mix did a very good job playing the role. I'm a bit surprised to see them on this list considering the fame of those main lead.
When you realize you have already watched each of these and are in same page with reviewer that yes they were absolutely delight, then know that you are sharing a dinner with doom for sure 😂😂😂

Je rajouterais "MY RIDE" ce BL était magnifique selon moi mais hélas on en parle très peu. L'histoire est assez ordinaire(mais où tout le monde peut se reconnaitre finalement) qui rend ce BL extraordinaire ❤ On assiste a de magnifiques interactions qui nous apportent de belles leçons de vie. Vraiment laisser une chance à ce BL il le mérite 😊
My Secret Love is highly underrated too. I think it's a brilliant series which includes a lot more than just romance but the romance scenes are also done exceptionally well. Highly recommend it!

In addition to those, I would say Rak Diao and Kamisama no Ekohiki are so underrated.
For Rak Diao (One Love), I think maybe a lot of people got turned off by the campiness and the laugh track (granted, the laugh track takes some getting used to). But it’s such a good show. It makes me sad that it didn’t get more love (pun intended, sorry 😅).
Kamisama no Ekohiki (God’s Favoritism) is fantastic and barely anyone knows about it. That’s most likely because it’s not on any international streaming platforms that I know about - so a similar problem as Triage. Add to that the fact that it’s a body swap plot, and the odds are against it. But it’s really a fantastic BL, with cute warm-fuzzies along side deeper themes about gender, identity and the question of what makes a person who they are. It’s so underrated for being such a good drama.
If you haven't watched Not Me god you've MISSED SO MUCH!! It's one of my favorites BLs of all the time and I love it so so so so so much! Trust me when I say it's a MASTERPIECE!!❤

I've watched 'You make Me Dance' a while ago and loved it. Wanted it to be longer but maybe a season two will make up for it. ❤
I've heard of 'Not Me' and I liked the topics of Social Justice, Thailand's laws, corruption in the government, the rich, and the struggles between different classes in society. I'm looking forward to watching more and seeing how it plays out with the hidden mystery of what really happened to the twin.
I also plan to watch 'Dear Doctor' and 'Blueming' because I enjoy SciFi, Fantasy and Supernaturnal aspects in my dramas. Plus, 'Blueming' sounds like an easy watch and I haven't seen a great Korean BL drama since 'Semantic Error'.

I also was reluctant to watch Cupid’s Last Wish because of the body swap trope, but it’s worth it. Mix’s acting has improved *so much* and you can never go wrong with EarthMix’s chemistry. Please don’t let the body swap trope throw you off. There are some parts but it is mostly EarthMix and it is worth it.
Same with You Make Me Dance. Something about that BL just made my heart feel so whole. The chemistry and some scenes between the characters made me gasp, and I wasn’t expecting anything but it exceeded my expectations.

You Make Me Dance is soooooo underrated!!!! I loved that one! Oh God, Dear Doctor was amazing, too!!!! Ugh, I loved it!
Not Me, Triage and Dear Doctor glued me to the screen and I binged them in two days each! They were soooo good! The mature plots and characters were refreshing and you get the meaning those shows want to tell behind all the action, fantasy and romance! I'm so glad that the industry tries to change from the first-love-trope to adult-love-with-real-plot! Every trope, cliche and plot has its own right, time and place (I love to fangirl about two cute boys falling in love, but sometimes I need more substance... I'm old...) and now is the time for mature stories and characters who know what they want and how to get it.
I have seen them all, Not Me is really really good (in my top 3 of all time BL series) and I really liked Your my Sky, Blueming, You make my Dance.

I agree with this like I do almost with every list of yours. I wasn't really interested in You're my sky at first but after I started it I was binging it completely. And yes, Not me is definitely one of the best GMMTV BLs. For me the only one that tops it is Sotus, but well, Sotus is my favorite BL of all time. And old fashioned cupcake was really nice to watch. I actually really love Japanese BLs because they are so easy to watch most of the time (except Life, Love on the line, that one destroyed me ngl). One of my favs to watch right now is the Japanese one Minato's Laundromat. I don't know what it is but I just love it. More people should watch it, I haven't read any comments anywhere about it
I think it is because we have been both characters in our lives. Sometimes we have been "Akira". Most of the time we have been "Shin" loving another without receiving love. That's the reason why we love "Minato's Laundromat"
I've watched Dear Doctor 3x already... it's fantastic. It reminds me of Ghost boyfriend. I didn't like Cupid, much... I'll watch Triage when I have time. I agree with your assessment, I have rewatched each several times because they are just that good. I didn't look at the production value... just the acting. I love, love, love, love Dear Doctor I'm coming for your soul. Cupcake was a nice story about adults going through the ups and downs of dating, falling in love, and the fear of rejection. Proving once again... when it comes to affairs of the heart... no one is safe. We enter a world without rules, and fight our way out to survive. I would have written some stories differently... but, I still enjoyed, and sill enjoy watching each of your recommendations. Thanks for giving them the 'Spotlight'

Something in my room was such a comfort show to me. It’s so warm even though the surrounding theme is so dark/sad. I loved it and I liked the OST as well.
Triage is definitely worth the wait. Overall it is a very interesting show with a great premise. It does unravel a bit towards the last episode or two, but it remains highly watchable right until the end. And surprisingly, although this is a bit of a spoiler, it connects to another strong BL series with a couple of cameos that not only service the plot of Triage and provide fan service for fans of this particular precursor series, but it also sets up the sequel to said series...or at least hints to what the sequel to this series will be tackling when it comes out either later this year or early 2023...
I've seen all except "Something in my room". "Old Fashion Cupcake" is my favorite Japanese BL. I've watched a couple of them several times and each time,it feels like I'm watching it for the first time, love all of them ❤❤❤

@@denicewalker5221 Good question. The answer will depend on whom you ask. The series depicts an incredibly close relationship between two men, one of whom expressly wants the other to be his lover.(so there's queerness in the telling...) But unlike a "proper" BL, where the point of the series is to get the two leads together, the point of this series is to see what makes the friendship tick. So Double won't appeal to anyone who consumes BL just to get kissing scenes. (It's not really LGBTQ+ either, as that one-sided attraction is only ever incidental to everything else. It's also not a series about sexual identities or coming out or homophobia.) What it is, is a whip-smart psychological study of two men who intertwine their lives so fully, they forget how to function separately. Good dialog. Good writing. Good acting. Good directing. Less actual romance than a typical BL, plenty of unrequited sexual tension . You'll have to decide whether that's enough for you. I'm counting it as one because that confession is enough for me to do so.

There were a couple I haven't seen but I like all of these. I would also add Manner of Death since it fits into the Triage universe, and it's good. Secret Crush on You if you push past the highly embarrassing first few episodes turns into a wonderful series covering a lot of issues. The Best Story was a short bittersweet puppy love story I enjoyed as well.

A really underrated series that deserves so much more is 'Secret Crush On You'. Just watched it a couple of days ago, and while on its face it seems like such a problematic story that takes every negative LGBTQIA+ trope and magnifies it x10 with bad writing and the oft-used college setting, it quickly morphs into one of the funniest, heart-warming, and queer-positive stories out there. It is so self-aware, it takes tropes from earlier BL dramas of note (yes Love Sick/SOTUS my loves, I'm talking about you!) and turns them on their head. I was literally up in the middle of the night, cackling like a loon as I binged this...even more than I did 'Rak Diao' even though that one is one of my favorite BL projects of this year. Secret Crush On You is everything!
'My Ride' is also such an underrated series that came out recently. The story was so sweet and despite a couple of annoying plot points, warmed my heart. The couple in the series was so adorable and while it wasn't a sitcom, it had so many hilarious moments as well. Such a cute slice-of-life show!

@@jacqqulen9106 Actually, no it isn't once you get past the first couple of episodes. The show has a lot of typical stuff thats common in other BL stories, but what makes the show so fun is how it turns some of those tropes on its head...
