HBO has already proven they don't care about asoiaf. I'm not interested in any HBO show I'm just here for the books.

I’m starting to fear George doesn’t care about ASOIAF anymore… or at least not as much.

    Nope.
    Don’t care.
    Finish the books George.
    Nothing else matters.
The Adventures of Arya West of Westeros? No thanks.

Fair. I’m moving closer to a reality that there is no Winds of Winter, and 99.9% certain there’s no A Dream of Spring… Sadly.

Ah, it's a series about Arya, someone with no sailing or navigating experience(Great job, D & D). It takes us to a part of the world of Song and Ice and Fire that nothing has been written about. I'm only interested in either a sequel season to try and fix seasons 7 and 8 or a total remake. I don't see myself enjoying a different sequel. My mouth is still sour from GOT.

Oh god no. I will not watch a Maisie Williams/Arya sequel. I want to forget all about the screaming leaping stealth ninja assassin that wasn’t promised. I hate show Arya, I can’t think of anything worse. Even a Thormund sequel of him just drinking giants milk and fantasising about Brienne would be more entertaining. Are HBO just going to trot out these sad sequels to characters they ruined one by one, first Snow, now tiny ninja girl on a boat, what next? Dany in the afterlife with Khal Drogo. SMH 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ehh Ayra's character show arc just felt like bland fanfic to bother investing into a new show as her being the main protagonist/antagonist. I think a event (Maybe something to do with the last dragon) that triggers a conflict between King Bran Stark and the newly legitimized Gendry Baratheon would be far more interesting. Maybe Gendry could allude to the Prince that was promised plot point that was connected to Stanis

Yeah, there certainly needs to be something new as far as conflict that is believable, but maybe not so predictable

HBO hasn't been able to adapt anything from George properly since GOT S4 and most of their own ideas are shit, so no, all they'll do is further ruin a once great character

That’s kind of one thing I look at as a possible positive. If it’s post GoT then there’s no source material for them to ruin. I’m skeptical, but I’d check it out.

@@DCharles Well..fair enough, I'll try not to think about what happened the last time there was no source material for them to ruin..

Nay, these characters have a stink on them that wont wash off for at least a generation, finishing the books although thats never going to happen is the only event that make a return to any of these characters possible and thats only if the ending is satisfactory. Right now an Arya show would appeal to the lowest level of idiot who actually believes what D&D did was good and would spectacularly fail.

It’d push off a lot of book readers, but I can’t imagine it not being successful commercially. Remember, each season of GoT had an increase in viewership. So technically, the further away from the source material they got, the more successful the show was. Kinda disappointing when you think about it.

    • @DavidCarradinesBelt
      @DavidCarradinesBelt 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

The problem with that point is no one really knows the damage that S8 did to those new viewers interest on anything GoT after. Increased viewership is kind of a misnomer when you kill a show in its final season. Just think about all the shows with bad endings, they’re unsalvageable without major retcons and those shows a lot of the time were reliably popular for their entire run too to the point returning to the universe of the show would be possible except for the ending. Unless it can be proven all the new viewers were Stark simps and they’ll watch anything with a Stark in it there’s nothing that suggests a fanfic tv show would work

I think back to those people huddled in a bar for GoT viewing. It was really bizarre. But I also remember them all cheering when Arya killed the Night King. I think if it’s successful, it could easily be for the reasons many of us despise.
