Gave the “Norm Tender System” a go. Been using it on both rock and sand for last week. Works brilliantly. Getting plenty of compliments from my crew. Makes those expensive wheels I put on the transom obsolete.
In my boating days I had a double length light line in a loop, threaded through the end of the dinghy anchor chain. Dropped the anchor as I rowed the dinghy in. When ashore I cleated the dinghy to the line then pulled it out to where the anchor chain began, keeping the other end of the loop ashore hooked over a stick in the sand above the tide line. When ready to leave pulling on the loop brought the dinghy back to shore.
This is bizarre as my husband and I were sitting on the beach at Goldsmith Island getting out of the wind and the tide was coming in. We were having to get up and drag up the dinghy multiple times. I said “I wonder how Norm does it?” And then we came back to the boat and you had the exact video uploaded. You are pure genius we will have to try it out. Thanks Norm.
@@MotorSailingforOldDudes not too bad tucked in the western bay nearest to Farrier Island. We have never been to Newry Islands so will have to check it out at some point. May venture north once the wind dies down a bit? Another week and a bit out then back to work. Unfortunately the weather is not what we are hoping for, but thanks to starlink makes days like this more enjoyable. Hi Mon too.
Such a brilliant solution. Game changer to an all too common challenge particularly in areas with larger tides. Will be rigging up and giving it a go. You are full of great ideas. Thanks Norm.
Hi Norm. What weight of folding anchor is necessary for your tender? Is 2.5kg (what I onboard) a bit light?? Your anchor looks a bit heavier in the video. Maybe 4kg would be better?? Thanks.

Mine is 2.5 kg Dude
Hi Norm, what is the length of chain that you are using ?
Hi Terry.
My chain is 60m. No joins. Only usually put out 30 unless we're riding out a blow.
@@MotorSailingforOldDudes sorry Norm. I ment the chain on your tender for when you anchor on tiff the beach.
Can I ask what sort of dingy that is?
Yeah Dude. It's called a Spindrift.
Made by Finn Kyaks.
