Well, Chilchuck said that Adventurers are pretty tight knit community, so once a rumor spread, it spread like wildfire.
Kabru is a PvP player continually getting wrecked in a PvE dungeon.
Meanwhile Laios enjoying his PvE life
just like Laios, but in a different way, Kabru is obsessed with human. That's how he can easily take down the corpse retriever gang, but having trouble when it comes to monsters. He kinda said it in this episode tho.

Oh you don't know the half of it lol.
Laios, when compared to everyone that Kabru tries to figure out, is a wild-card. It's why he's so excited to be the one to figure out who He, and his Sister, are really like.
Fortunately we, the audience, already know what Laios and his Sister is like, especially if you already the manga. Them meeting is going to be a fun interaction, I guarantee it.
Finally my man Kabru gets the spotlight! I love how he's a foil to Laios, understanding people but not monsters, being sociable, etc.
In any other fantasy story, he'd be the main character.
Very sociable, well respected leader, a tragic background, and a noble goal.
I love how well executed and entertaining this episode is in terms of introducing a dozen of new characters. We managed to get snippets on these new characters, how they act and what role they would possibly play on the narrative.
I also love how they introduced a seemingly new and very involved character that has traits very opposite to Laios. Kabru seems to have a skill in analyzing people, their behavior, and motive just from small observations. Laios doesn't seem to have a grasp on managing social interactions but is very good at analyzing monsters and knowing things about them.

Yeah when Marcille begged Namari to join Laios party Chilchuck stopped her by explaining that adventurers’ community is very small so gossips spread real quick. So they are kinda like a very big family in terms of knowledge about each other

those elves in the middle of that promo image were the same elves that were in the cour 1 opening theme: they appeared to be on some kind of boat and you could only see the backs of their heads. i wonder what their deal is?
(i mean. i read the manga so i know exactly what their deal is but i'm being rhetorical)

@@aziouss2863i think theres definitely something there, its just we dont see much of falin to begin with so its a little harder to judge from her end. shes also probably on the autism spectrum like her brother so she doesnt always react to things in a typical way. its clear tho from some flashback scenes we'll see in the future that marcille and her opinions are very important to her. falin also expresses several times that it bugs her when marcille treats her like a little kid, she wants marcille to view her as an adult. its not hard to read into that desire a bit when you got the shipping goggles on. honestly if anything it feels a little more obvious to me coming from falin's end. marcille feels like she might be kind of oblivious to it
@@aziouss2863 As much as people will want to disagree with you, you’re probably right. The author released a chart on every party members thoughts on Marcille but only Marcilles thoughts on Shuro and Namari. The author is smart and knows we didn’t need to know Marcilles thoughts on Falin because they’re implied in perspective of what Shuro and Marcille have in common with her. Marcille hating Shuro for liking Falin could’ve been a one bit gag but instead we see it brought up on multiple occasions. Them even sharing a scene together when Falin rips her shirt. (Don’t assume everything is a coincidence the author is very smart) The chart however shows us Falin only sees her as her friend. I love the two but we need to face the reality.
@@sandcrack0873Tbf the chart only displays the dynamic they had pre-dragon, there are a lot of possibilities. They aren’t a couple in the canon storyline, that’s for sure. DM is about familial love after all.
Kabru very much became my favorite character in this part of the manga (though I too am a Marcille fan). I love his backstory and how well it compliments/contrasts with Laios (though some parts of it were unfortunately kind of hidden in the supplemental material, specifically the stuff that parallels more Laios' childhood experiences). The two of them are excellent foils and this episode really did a great job of showing how Kabru's deep interest in social dynamics (and, through understanding people well, his skill at beating them) parallels Laios' deep interest in monsters (and, through understanding monsters well, his skill at beating them).

D&D point, Kuro would be closer to a gnoll, right? Kobolds are reptilian kind of minion. Wonder if in Japanese kobold sounds better.
In older versions of D&D, kobolds were hairy.
They're a generic evil spirit from European folklore with no definitive appearance, classically interchangeable with goblins, brownies, gremlins, and other little troublemakers.

About Rin, she had a line is the manga that they didn't include that provides some useful context. I'll include it in another paragraph after a big space, so people can choose to read it or not.
After being asked about Shuro, Rin adds that "Besides, I was born here.", meaning she's not personally from the Eastern Islands, but her family was.
I have manga knowledge, so for your question of the day, I am going to answer what my favorite new character was at this point in the story. The one that caught my attention first was Tade, the Onii type girl. Love the initial energy she has in comparison to the rest of the group, and I felt bad for her when nobody else wanted to eat the serpent.
12:30 pretty sure I'm not the only one who will say this but he's good at dealing with fellow humans (both in and out of combat) he just sucks at dealing with monsters. He hates monsters to the point of phobia, which is also why he'll never become an expert at them like Laios, who is his polar opposite.
I mean, if you go at it like someone who is an expert at dealing with human opponents, you wouldn't expect treasure itself to kill you, nor would you expect armed attackers to suddenly appear in the middle of the lake.
Come to think of it, this is actually a bit of info missing in the anime. They smartly tried to avoid another danger of that area (which is new to them since they are usually not that far down) and they plugged their ears to avoid the mermaids' song. But because of this they didn't hear the fish men as they emerged and attacked them from behind.
I don't know if it's ever explicitly is stated, but adventures have to work with every industry on the island. From adventures guild to cash in treasure, to blacksmiths, general stores, and food vendors for gear and food. Also one you get past the third floor it seems the number of party's of that caliber greatly shrinks so it becomes a much tighter community of people all working in the same trade. So that's why everyone know each other somewhat.
It's interesting that this is all happening in the past, so Tanso was referring to Kabru when he said "even the corpse we found on the road had its resurrection fee."
Fun fact, elves and gnomes use different types of magic, which is why Kabru's partner didn't recognize Marcille's magic (he's also half-human, which is why he's a little taller than the other gnomes). Both magics use spirits as a source, elves force spirits to cast spells because they think they are forces of nature, while gnomes ask for their help because they consider spirits sacred beings, Falin uses gnome magic.
Laios and Kabru seem to be complete opposites, Laios is only interested in monsters and has experience fighting them, but he is bad with social relationships and on the surface they play with Laios a lot because of it, while Kabru is an expert at reading people, That's why he so easily predicted the movements of those who attacked him. The problem is that he doesn't know anything about monsters. When he fights them, he does it as if he were fighting a human. When the sea serpent attacked him, he wondered where his carotids were. some arteries of a human, it is not surprising that they died twice in a row.

Gotta a lot to opine on, so I'll number them out:
1. Kabru is so calculating it's kinda scary. But I do love that he's overestimating Laios's party. It'll be funny when they finally do meet.
2. I love Rin's hair twirling. It seems to be a nervous tic, but it's adorable.
3. The new OP/ED are amazing. I was a little sad they didn't keep the original OP (I love it so much), but I'm sure I'll come to love these just as much.
4. Kuro and the Oni girl from Shuro's party gives the best vibes. Kuro because he's a typical dog but can talk, and the girl because she's so obviously the genki type, which we haven't yet had on the show.
5. Hell yes for using "The Corridors of Time" in your outro.
6. "Maybe in the near future we get up to 300." Looks like it'll happen sooner than you think 😏

29:22 it's interesting because the composer of this music(Corridor of time - from Chrono Trigger) is the same person who composed/directed the music for this show, mitsuda yasunori.

Kabru is the Laois of people. The way Laois is obsessed with monsters, is the same way Kabru is obsessed with people and behaviors.

Like, the way the darkness at the top manages to obscure Falin, and that Thistle's position in front of her hides her dragon body, so that people won't fully realize what she looks like now is crazy.
She's separated from her wings, which makes it look like they're more connected to Thistle than her in the composition.
They even drew the resurrection circle at the top, and yet in my opinion it still doesn't feel like a spoiler. It's amazing

Rin has a crush on Kabru, and he sees her as an older sister, there is NO way that he isn’t aware of the fact she has a crush on him, so he’s basically just evil. Love him though
Falin seems to have become some feathery griffin thing in the key visual (behind the mad mage), I think the red legs at 26:47 are Falin's
I also have a theory about the legs in my ED2 Reaction 😂😭
